Rebeca competed a DTY and a Lopez, right? With the Amanar, she will definately be a medal contender at worlds, maybe even with the DTY, considering her execution (she got a 15 at Jesolo).

Especially since the field will be depleted this year. Although I can imagine that Shallon Olsen will fight hard to upgrade and medal since worlds will be at home for her, Ellie Downie will probably get the Cheng, possibly an Amanar too to try and win, Chusovitina can sneak in, and Hong Un Jong always manages to get up there. Andrade will undoubtedly contend if healthy, but it depends on where the top contenders are in terms of difficulty by then.

We can’t rule out a Skinner comeback yet… I think she could take the title if Paseka doesn’t make worlds but I think she’ll improve by Worlds. I can see Hong winning a medal but I don’t think there are any locks for gold on any event yet.

Definitely no locks for gold. What’s really interesting is that if you think about it, we haven’t seen any locks for a medal in general, which is what I love most about Simone not competing this year. For vault, yeah Skinner could win if she comes back but she hasn’t committed to coming back to elite, all she said is that the option is open in her mind, but to me it sounds like she’ll at least try. I’m not sure about Paseka. If there’s one thing we can learn from the Russian gymnasts, its that you should never count them out, because they’ll always prove the nay-sayers wrong. But i feel that with Pasekas health issues it won’t be wise to push her for worlds. The one that I think could be the surprise winner is Shallon Olsen. She said she’s upgrading one of her vaults for worlds in Lauren’s interview and when Shallon added “you probably know what it is” I assume it’s going to be the DTY-Amanar. The only thing with Shallon is that she sometimes has messy form on the Khorkina, but I think that if she qualifies to finals and does the Amanar/Khorkina combo cleanly she can get a medal, if not win.

Rebeca is ready for a medal at Worlds! She has the best DTY until now, and easily can throw an Amanar at Worlds

When Larissa Iordache is first on bars in a not too shabby international field…
Remember when she only ever posted bars workouts before the Olympics – her injury might have helped her bars!

It most certainly did not, she broke and then reinjured her finger, which is really bad for uneven bars. The reason why she only posted bars workouts was to show that she was getting skills back and making progress going into the olympics.

Rebeca has the Aamanar ready since when she was young, after the ACL she showed at the Olympics that jumping Amanar is no problem for her. Who watched Koper saw that Lopez is in the highest and that a Mustafina or Cheng is only a matter of time and time, but we all know that the pretense is Cheng. Rebeca with Amanar and Mustafina is certain gold, with Amanar and Lopes is right medalist. Everything is at her discretion. In addition it also comes strong for the all around, besides being preparing a powerful FX for the world-wide one. In addition, we have Flávia Saraiva who also comes strong for AA, BB and FX and the new senior Thais Fidelis with his BB of 6.3 and FX of 5.8. Brazil reaches its best level now in 2017 and should fight for a medal in the TF in the 2018 World Cup, as we will have Lorrane Oliveira recovered and the new Fabiano Valemtim, very talented for 2018.
