The FIG released the nominative registration for Universiade this weekend, and while we knew some teams from announcements made previously, this is the first time we’re getting a complete look at absolutely everyone set to compete.

I’m way more excited for this competition than I’ve been in a really long time, because pretty much every major country sending a team is including gymnasts who have competed at the world or Olympic level. Russia has Olympic medalists Daria Spiridonova and Maria Paseka, Germany has two-time Olympian Kim Bui leading a team that includes two of last year’s alternates, Japan will send two-time Olympian Asuka Teramoto and her 2016 teammate Yuki Uchiyama as well as multiple worlds competitor Natsumi Sasada, 2016 Olympian Vera van Pol leads the Dutch team, and Canada is sending two-time Olympians Brittany Rogers and Ellie Black.

Several other countries will also send their top elites with major international experience, including Yamilet Peña of the Dominican Republic, Annika Urvikko of Finland, reigning Universiade all-around champion Kelly Simm of Great Britain, Dorina Böczögö of Hungary, Filipa Martins of Portugal, Larisa Iordache of Romania, and Barbora Mokosova of Slovakia in addition to many other well-known names.

A full list of competitors is below. Held in Taipei, Taiwan, the 2017 Summer Universiade begins on August 19 and we’ll have a full preview coming in the days leading up to the meet.
