This morning at the FIG headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, women’s technical committee president Donatella Sacchi and men’s athlete representative Jani Tanskanen conducted the draw for the 2017 World Championships, to be held in Montreal, Canada from October 2-8.
The draw determines the starting order for the competition in Montreal, with four subdivisions for the men and five for the women. The results of the draw can be found below, and denote where each country will begin the first rotation of each subdivision.

They almost always draw the last 2 subdivisions, while Russia almost always pull the first 2. (Just to clarify I think it’s coincidental, not a “FIG intentionally bends favor to Americans” kind of thing).

Does that mean that she cannot be selected for the WC ? Maybe the injury is minor.

It means shes out. You can petition to the worlds CAMP but not directly to the team. Must be major with no hope for a quick recover, otherwise I would think she would go to the camp.

she had most style and potential, i think she is better than robot Ragan, Riley i feel she has some more personality where US girls usually need to work on

If I remember it right, how come in 2013, the girls in one country are in different subdivision? I remember Simone in sub 3 while Kyla sub 1. I thought it will be the case here. Surprising china is not in sub 1 LOL.

For China, it’s maybe to make the outrageous severity of judges in Rio. No Chinese at the UB final was a bad joke.

But China did get into Bars Final, Shang competed and placed 5th in the Bars final.

Yes, you’re right, I’ve forgotten, but the scores were so tough in the first rotation …I was thinking of Fan Yilin who was out of the UB final. Rio has been very hard for the Chinese girls, especially during qualifications.

I always thought that the PG Champ, and Classic and all other competitions in US are a bit too much and close to each other and the girls are over worked, I mean, being 365 days ready for worlds is too much, usually they should peak at the right time/month/competition not keep peaking on and off all year around.

Yeah I mean the US has been doing so awful at major international competitions during the last decade. They really need to change.

i didnt said they are not doing well. I said she got injury because of busy schedule, will see how well they do in Montreal, last quad was Simone and Aly winning medals, the rest quite average

Australia is sending a full team.
Peggy is out, Mihai is in….he needs to show what influence he has had on the girls, as limited as it might be.
Peggy didn’t send anyone in 2013 and look how that paid off.

Have they had their internal verification? I thought that whether they sent a team was predicated on meeting stringent internal standards which so far no one had done.

Actually Australia said they might not send a full team. It’ll depend on who meets internal qualification standards.
