Will World Cup points be assigned based off qualification placements or will they not take this meet into consideration?

Wow. What happened to Ferarri’s floor? Looks like she had something majorly downgraded.

She decided to not compete her Silivas first pass and was saving her hardest routine for the final.

Ah no. Makes sense when you obviously think you have a final to perform in. Have they said if they’re using the qualifications score to call the competition or are they scrapping the meet? I’ll be gutted beyond words for her if she misses out because of this.

Does this mean the qualification result is good for nothing or would they decide to use it as the final score?

It seems it’s going to not count for anything, unfortunately!

Cancelling finals is beyond stupid. They could cancel attendance but still let the athletes compete. They have already travelled and been exposed to eachother.
What makes me really sad is that this looks like it would have been a chance for Andrade to move towards a qualification!! So impressed with her coming back to this level so soon. But worried that she won’t be back in aa in time to qualify through continentals – if they actually exist. Maaaaybe Flavia could win a spot there and Andrade could go. :: Hopeful ::

I am all for precautions but at some point people do need to also step back and do some rational thinking. I agree they should’ve just go on with the final without attendance as long as no gymnasts are showing any symptoms. it’s too late to stop any spread from any asymtomatic person after qualification anyway,

I understand the frustration but I work in public health. Even though the athletes have been around each other, there’s still a chance that some haven’t been exposed and can transmit it + those who may already have it best not compete even if they are only in the middle of the incubation period. Lastly, with how quickly things are developing many of these gymnasts need to focus on finding a hotel or temporary home to stay at if they can’t fly back to their actual home. Very stressful situation.
Seeing as so many other competitions are canceled at this point, there wasn’t much of a point in continuing this anyway.
At this point the focus needs to be curbing the outbreak so that we don’t have to worry about these kinds of decisions.
