9:49 am. Elisabeth Seitz GER UB: Maloney to Ricna, nice, piked Jaeger, looks a little bit off in the air, and A FALL!!! NOOOOO. Downie, Pak, short handstand before the van Leeuwen, some ankle separation, toe full, a little tiny bit off in her extension there in handstand, into the full-in dismount.

Artur Avetisyan ARM SR: Maltese to iron cross, another iron cross after that, inverted hang to invert pike up to his double tuck to handstand, double pike up to Maltese, inverted hang to pike again, this time up to planche, arched over in the handstand after that but pulls it up, stuck the full-twisting double layout!

9:45 am. Giorgia Villa ITA UB: Huge Tkachev to Pak to Maloney to Bhardwaj, great! Van Leeuwen, a little short on the handstand before the front giant, front giant full, stuck the full-in on her toes, incredible! 14.000 (5.7, 8.300)

9:42 am. Vinzenz Höck AUT SR: My favorite dude in the land. Maltese to invert to Maltese pressed up to planche, gets the saltos through to iron cross, invert hang to planche, a little shaky there, down to iron cross, clean full-twisting double layout with a hop back. 14.666 (6.1, 8.566)

9:40 am. Alice D’Amato ITA UB: Maloney to Tkachev, a little low and catches with bent arms but gets it no problem, Downie to Pak, van Leeuwen, slight bend in her arms on the catch, blind change to front giant to front giant full to double front, a little overrotated with a hop lunge forward. 13.700 (5.9, 7.800)

9:38 am. Nikita Nagornyy RUS SR: Maltese, down to inverted hang, back to Maltese, through to iron cross, down to inverted pike, double pike to double tuck through to iron cross, lovely. Inverted pike to planche I think, or maybe a Maltese, his arms were a little ambiguous at first. Stuck the double double. Amazing. 15.033 (61, 8.933)

9:36 am. Angelina Melikova RUS UB: Inbar full, late, Komova II to Pak to van Leeuwen, nice. Inbar half, legs apart, to piked Jaeger, a little close maybe, blind full a little crooked with some leg separation, and a full-in with a solid landing. She’s thrilled despite the tiny errors throughout, mostly handstand/pirouette-related. 14.500 (6.2, 8.300)

9:33 am. Ibrahim Colak TUR SR: Planche is maybe a little low, double tuck to double pike through to Maltese dropped down to iron cross, inverted hang through to iron cross, with a BIG SMILE HAHAHA. Piked double front dismount. King! 14.733 (6.0, 8.733)

9:30 am. Filipa Martins POR UB: Hindorff, then the Martins, aka Hindorff to mixed grip, but catches the grip a little too late and can’t get the rotation out into the Ezhova, crashes it against the low bar. NOOOOOO. Does the Ezhova a second time, toe full to Maloney to Pak, clean, but then falls again on her van Leeuwen, onto her knees. UGH. Double layout is solid. So bummed for her. 11.333 (5.8, 5.533)

9:27 am. Vahagn Davtyan ARM SR: Maltese, through to iron cross, presses it to a planche, then swings down to inverted hang. Swings a little in the subsequent handstand, double pike to Maltese, pushes into an iron cross, back through inverted hang up to planche, really high and clean on those planches of his. Small hop on the full-twisting double layout. Excellent routine. 14.658 (6.0, 8.658)

9:25 am. Amelie Morgan GBR UB: Piked Jaeger, clean, Ricna to Pak, Maloney to Bhardwaj, all clean so far! van Leeuwen a tiny bit low maybe, blind full, and a tucked toe front half with a hop for her dismount. She’s so slow and steady on everything, I love her. 14.100 (5.8, 8.300)

9:23 am. Igor Radivilov UKR SR: I missed the beginning, but hit the saltos to invert cross, planche, handstand after was very nice, double double, maybe a little low, tiny hop. 14.666 (6.0, 8.666)

9:21 am. Vladislava Urazova RUS UB: Inbar full is perfect, to Komova II to Pak, lovely. Van Leeuwen, inbar half, muscles through it but gets to the front giant into the piked Jaeger with no problem, a little loose in her form on the toe full, into a solid full-in, hop forward. She was completely unfazed by any of the tiny adjustments she had to make. 14.333 (6.1, 8.233)

9:17 am. Eleftherios Petrounias GRE SR: Maltese up to planche down through to Maltese, Maltese again to Invert hang, handstand down through to planche, opens out in an iron cross, pike through to iron cross, double pike up to handstand, he is A BEAUTY. Double double with a hop back. 15.400 (6.3, 9.100)

9:16 am. Jonna Adlerteg SWE UB: Shang, bends her legs on the Pak, Maloney to Bhardwaj, comes off REALLY low and I don’t even know HOW she caught that, shaposh to clear hip to Tkachev, and a double layout with a hop forward. She gave me a heart attack at LEAST twice. What a fight through. 13.666 (6.0, 7.666)

9:13 am. Salvatore Maresca ITA SR: Maltese, inverted pike hang up to an inverted cross, swings through to Maltese then down to iron cross, brilliant so far. Invert hang, up to planche, swinging a tiny bit on one of his last handstands, then sticks the full-twisting double layout. ITALY!!! 14.900 (6.2, 8.700)

8:54 am. Marina Nekrasova AZE VT: Handspring front pike full, tucked her legs throughout and was a bit short on the landing, ended up sitting it. Also pretty sure that was supposed to be a front layout full, but it was somehow both piked and tucked instead unfortunately. 12.433 (5.0, 7.533, -0.1)

Tsuk 1.5 for the second, rotation looked a little off, step to the side to control it. Form was great on the first full twist, but tucked her legs a bit on the last half turn. 13.933 (5.2, 8.733)

8:52 am. Rhys McClenaghan IRL PH: I missed a lot of this so didn’t see how the fall happened but saw that he dropped his hips down on the horse and came off. Hit the rest. 13.566 (6.0, 7.566)

8:47 am. Giulia Steingruber SUI VT: Rudi, nails it! Tiny hop back but super solid. Legs are GLUED throughout, just some flex in her feet and hips aren’t fully extended throughout (though they’re close! until the very end where she pikes down), but it’s one of the better Rudi body shapes among those who do it or have done it. 15.066 (5.8, 9.266)

Second vault is a DTY, EXCELLENT! Just a hop back but GIRL! She can take literal years away and come back like zero time has passed. That was EXCELLENT. Just slight leg separation and a small pike down on the landing. 14.583 (5.4, 9.183)

14.824 average puts her in the lead!

8:46 am. Joe Fraser GBR PH: His body line for the first half was A+ GORGEOUS. Lost a little of that as he started getting tired near the end but overall really impressed with how good he looked. 14.066 (5.9, 8.166)

8:42 am. Tjasa Kysselef SLO VT: Yurchenko 1.5, doesn’t get a ton of distance from the vault, and a little soft in her leg form throughout, takes a step back on the landing. 13.700 (5.0, 8.700)

Second vault is a handspring front tuck full with a big hop forward and she’s so happy she’s literally SKIPPING away! Doesn’t get the biggest height coming off the table but her leg form is pretty on point, barely a split between her knees. 13.633 (4.8, 8.833)

13.666 average.

8:40 am. Gagik Khachikyan ARM PH: Had a few minor form things throughout in terms of his legs just coming apart, and his hips go pretty piked at times, but overall a great effort, pirouettes into the dismount go well. 14.033 (6.3, 7.733)

8:37 am. Angelina Melnikova RUS VT: DTY is almost as good as she did it in the all-around final, really just the landing that was weaker. She’s gotten so much tighter and cleaner in the air, really just the legs coming apart and crossing in the second twist, just a small hop back on the landing. 14.600 (5.4, 9.200)

Okay, I don’t think that was quite as good as Gadirova’s so them getting the same E is questionable, but guess Gadirova’s landing was weaker so it evens out?

Second vault is the Lopez, form comes apart in a few areas, mostly knees and hips, also stumbles a bit on the landing so ends up taking a bunch of little steps. 14.233 (5.2, 9.033)

14.416 average, puts her just slightly behind Gadirova. DTY score aside, I think that ranking ended up correct.

8:35 am. Nikita Nagornyy RUS PH: Single pommel circles are so smooth and easy, ust needs to extend his hips a little more. He’s getting good height off of the horse today, hands go a little messy in his handstand pirouette into the dismount but it doesn’t phase him at all, hits easily. 14.266 (6.1, 8.166)

8:32 am. Csenge Bacskay HUN VT: Yurchenko 1.5, actually pretty tight throughout! Hip and knee bends are minor. Just a step forward to steady it. 13.766 (5.0, 8.766)

Tsuk full for her second, a bit piked down and a bit forward on the landing, hop forward. 13.533 (4.8, 8.733)

13.649 average.

8:30 am. Illia Kovtun UKR PH: Good transitions on and off the single pommel. A little wonky pressing up to handstand for his pirouettes down to a scissor element, goes slow and steady throughout, but then as he starts traveling he looks like his hand doesn’t go quite where it should and he can’t hold on. Hit the remainder after remounting. 12.966 (5.9, 7.066)

8:27 am. Jessica Gadirova GBR VT: DTY, HUGE and GORGEOUS. Her legs don’t come apart even a little bit, and she’s pretty nicely extended throughout. Just a step back on the landing. 14.600 (5.4, 9.200)

Second vault, Yurchenko half-on front layout off aka a Lopez, SUPER laid out almost until the very end where she just pikes down a bit for the landing. Step back. But that was also pretty beautiful. 14.333 (5.2, 9.133)

14.466 average.

8:25 am. Artur Davtyan ARM PH: I had to refresh my stream during this but saw that he hit a solid set based on the replay! 14.266 (5.8, 8.466)

8:22 am. Sara Peter HUN VT: Goes for a DTY, just not enough height off the table, does a good job trying to get it around, minor form issues throughout in terms of her hips and knees, but doesn’t have quite enough room to land it, hands down. Like one HAIR more in terms of height in her block and she would have hit I think. 12.966 (5.4, 7.566)

Second vault is a front tuck half, which she crashes on her hands and knees (and face). OOF. Gets a 0.

6.483 average.

8:20 am. Joshua Nathan GBR PH: Single rail transition up to the Busnari was excellent, legs came slightly apart on a circle element but pulls it back together and goes perfectly into his flairs, travels in flairs look excellent, and then he misses his rhythm right near the end and came off! NOOOOOO. Handstand pirouette dismount was lovely, such a shame. 13.033 (6.9, 6.133)

8:17 am. Anastasiia Motak UKR VT: DTY, knee form is pretty soft throughout, holds her legs together for the first twist but loses that a bit in the second, step on the landing. 13.966 (5.4, 8.633, -0.1)

Second vault is a Lopez, Yurchenko half-on front layout off, but it’s considerably piked and should get downgraded tbh. Good on the landing at least! 13.466 (4.8, 8.666)

13.699 average.

8:14 am. David Belyavskiy RUS PH: Doesn’t hit the handstand out of the scissor element at the beginning, gets it maybe a little more than halfway there, also had some form breaks on a circle element, gets his rhythm back in time to travel, but then loses his leg form on the handstand pirouette into the dismount, comes short off of the hors, and CRASHES THE LANDING. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve seen a fall on a pommels dismount. 13.166 (6.1, 7.066)

8:10 am. Athletes are marching out for the pommels and women’s vault finals!

7:55 am. Dimitar Dimitrov BUL FX: Front full to randi, leg form isn’t quite there, a little short as well. 2.5 to front double full, pretty good there. Double double is a little low, hop forward. His tongue out when he runs is beautiful. Front full to Rudi and double full after that. Triple full at the end is fine. 13.900 (6.0, 7.900)

7:51 am. Benjamin Gischard SUI FX: Randi to start, little shuffle back. Double front half-out, solid landing on that. Double double, tiny bounce. Front double full to barani, great. 2.5 to front full, sticks it. Circles, double full, excellent triple full to finish. Beautiful routine! 14.966 (6.0, 8.966)

7:48 am. Kirill Prokopev RUS FX: Double double, UGH, hands down on the landing. Front full to Randi. 2.5 with a big step, pretty sure he was supposed to connect that to something but with the rough landing, he doesn’t. 3.5 also a bit off on the landing, rotation was a bit wonky. Front full to Rudi. Flairs and air flairs, then a triple full, hops. 13.466 (6.1, 7.366)

7:45 am. Adem Asil TUR FX: Well, I’m glad his shoulder is better. Front layout to double front half-out, hop forward. Front full to piked double front, hop forward. Double double, small hop forward. Chest is a little forward. Arabian double front, a little short with a big hop forward. Double full side pass, tiny slide back. Circles, then I think the last pass was an arabian double front half-out but I zoned out for a second. 13.966 (6.0, 7.966)

7:41 am. Nikita Nagornyy RUS FX: Triple pike!! Small hop back. Looks SO easy. Piked double front half-out, hop back. Front double full to double front, literally walks into it, hop forward. 2.5 to front full to Rudi, I finally saw that entire pass! Good. Arabian double front half-out. Hit the strength elements, and then a casual double double to finish, tiny hop. 15.166 (6.8, 8.366)

7:37 am. Nicola Bartolini ITA FX: Piked double front, stuck it cold, just an adjustment in his body. Double double, tiny bounce back. 1.5 to front double full. Rudi side pass. Little somersault into a press handstand rolled into another press, he does it so beautifully. 2.5 to front full. NAAAAAILS the triple, sticks it with feet just slightly apart and it was fab in the air and in terms of rotation. Beautiful routine. 14.666 (5.8, 8.866)

7:33 am. Yahor Sharamkou BLR FX: Huge triple back, almost overdoes it! Big steps OOB. Front double full to double front, hop forward. Just a little too much energy. Front full to double front half-out, better. Double double, little bounce, chest a bit low. 1.5 to tucked barani side pass. Circles with a little somersault into the corner, then a triple full, a little underrotated with a hop forward. I wish he could have somehow saved some energy for that last pass! 13.966 (6.3, 7.966, -0.3)

7:30 am. Ahmed Önder TUR FX: Piked double front half-out, stuck. Front full to double front half-out, a tiny bit under with a hop forward. Double double, feet stick but wobbles his arms around to hold it. 2.5 to barani is good. Little scoot back on the double full side pass. Circles into a split into a Japanese press, rolled out into the corner for his final pass, a tucked full-in, a little low with a big step forward on the landing. 14.166 (6.0, 8.166)
