The 2016 NCAA Gymnastics Championships regional selections were announced today in a live selection show. Six teams, four all-around competitors not part of qualifying teams, and two individual event specialists were named to each of the six predetermined host sites.
The top 18 teams are seeded nationally based on the regional qualifying scores (RQS) while the remaining teams ranked 19-36 are organized into three groups (19-24, 25-30, and 31-36) and then placed geographically at one of the six sites. All-around competitors and event specialists are also assigned geographically.
All regional qualifying teams and individuals are listed below. All regional competitions will be held Saturday April 2. The top two teams and all-around competitors not part of qualifying teams from each regional session will move on to nationals held in Fort Worth, Texas, April 15-16.
