9:34 pm. Saraiva wins with a 14.4 and the crowd loses their brains. Miller is second with 13.7 and Griesser is third with a 13.566. SO HAPPY to see Griesser on the podium!!! Bummed Onyshko isn’t on it, though. Unless I missed something, that was an awesome set.
9:29 pm. Saraiva FX- GET READY TO PARTY BECAUSE FLAVA FLAV IS HITTING THE FLOOR. I was watching her routine and not typing, but she hit everything very well, I think it was 1.5 to front double full, tucked full-in, double tuck to finish, something else in there, I was too busy screaming and crying with how perfect this routine is and how much this city loves her.
9:25 pm. Miller FX- Double front right into the corner and unfortunately hops a tiny bit OOB. Front full to front double full has a solid landing. Good double arabian. 2.5 to finish. Good work, and she also has a really great elegant run off the podium. Extra points.
9:24 pm. Schäfer’s score is 12.9.
9:23 pm. Schäfer FX- Double layout with a hop, second pass is either a front double full or a 2.5, I didn’t see the beginning, but she lands with a wobble and has to put her hand down. Ugh, shame. Double tuck, second flip is cowboyed a bit and she has a hop. Double pike with a small hop. She also has some nice choreo moments in there.
9:22 pm. Only a 13.4 for Bela??? Seems very low.
9:20 pm. Scores so far are Griesser 13.566, Hypolito 12.566, Perez 12.266. Long wait for Bela’s score.
9:15 pm. Onyshko FX- Another long wait. Whip whip through to stuck double tuck!! YAS BELA. Looks good on her jumps too. Stuck tucked full-in with her chest down, tiny step forward after the stick though. Her illusion into her choreo in this middle piece is KILLER. YAS. Double pike, nearly stuck, just a small step back. Omg her arm presentation when she leaves the floor is PERFECT. Elegant swan.
9:13 pm. Hypolito FX- Front double full I think, I wasn’t prepared for this to start, skids and sits it. 2.5 to front full. Hits turn sequence relatively well. Double tuck is a bit low and she has bent knees but she hits. Whip into a big double tuck with a step. Crowd applauding like the fall didn’t happen and she waves to them. Love it. Chants of “Dani, Dani, Dani!”
9:07 pm. Griesser FX- Bless this routine. So happy she’s in the final. Lovely leap to start. Double tuck is nearly stuck. Perfect double attitude to double turn. Dances into the corner which NO ONE DOES learn from Leah. 1.5 to front full. WHY AM I CRYING. Double L turn. 2.5 skidded a little over to the side but that was GORGEOUS as usual.
9:03 pm. Perez FX- Tucked full-in skids a little but she gets it back in control. Double tuck. Double full. Those two were good for her. Double pike lands a little too far forward so she leans back to pull it up and rotates back on her heels to her back. Awww…coach gives her a pat on the back.
9:01 pm. Here we go with the final final! Start list…
- Ana Perez, Spain
- Leah Griesser, Germany
- Daniele Hypolito, Brazil
- Isabela Onyshko, Canada
- Pauline Schäfer, Germany
- Larrissa Miller, Australia
- Flavia Saraiva, Brazil

I finally found a video of Liekes floor. Lauren look up figure skater Yulia Lipnitskayas Sochi Olympic skate if you hadn’t seen it… Likes was good of course but if you lost your soul with Liekes, you’ll die watching Yulias… Same music but so haunting and beautiful in the composition of the choreography. Of course it helps that in figure skating its four minutes compared to 1.5 in gymnastics.

I’ve seen it! Loved hers. I remember there was a lot of controversy about her using the plight of the Jews to get good scores but I never saw that…I saw a beautifully performed and haunting routine that was super moving. I think once Lieke does it a bit more it’ll become even better because she’s such a gifted performer…but she’s also the kind of gymnast who has a lot of detail and so I can’t wait to see like, an HD routine where a camera is on her face or at least somewhat close up.

I’ve watcehd Schinder’s List performed by Julia (single skating), Guignard/Fabbri (ice dance) and Neviana Vladinova (rhythmic gymnastics) and they’re all more poetic and poignant than Lieke’s routine. Hope to see her adding more details to the program, because so far I’ve seen it as just a floor exercise performed to a sorrowful piece of music. I also hope that Schinder’s List won’t become overused in these artistic sports like Phantom of the Opera, Carmen etc.

Do you have the link for Lieke’s floor routine? I’ve been looking and can’t seem to find it.

Have you ever watched Germany’s Marlene Bindig? Her floor routine is just as amazing as Leahs 🙂
