6. Skye Blakely 54.700
7. Katelyn Rosen 52.900
8. Elle Mueller 52.800

8:44 pm. Charlotte Booth FX: Clean double pike. Was a little short on her second pass. Nice extension on the split jump full. Double tuck finishes pretty deep with a low lunge forward.

Kayla DiCello BB: 13.800, good day for her! 55.950 all-around to match Jordan Chiles.

8:43 pm. Ciena Alipio UB: 12.350

8:41 pm. Jordan Chiles FX: 1.5 through to full-in, a bit wonky on the landing, leg flies up as she comes up a little short. Double layout is MUCH better! L hop full to tour jeté full. Front layout through to double tuck, another great landing! 13.750!

Nola Matthews FX: 12.450

8:36 pm. Konnor McClain UB: Hop change to Weiler half to stalder full, a tiny bit late, great handstand before the Chow to toe full, nice! Church, catches close with her legs all over the place, Pak with slight leg separation, didn’t connect the two, van Leeuwen with weak leg form, double pike with a little step. 13.300

Skye Blakely UB: 13.850, AA is 54.700

Lexi Zeiss BB: 12.250

8:35 pm. Levi Jung-Ruivivar BB: 13.150

8:33 pm. Shilese Jones FX: Double double with a slight hop forward. Double L turn. Tour jeté half. Double layout, hop back. Front tuck through to double tuck, nearly stuck. Hop L turn through to switch half. Beautiful. 14.100

57.200 all-around for Shilese Jones!

Katelyn Jong VT: Yurchenko double, 13.950

8:32 pm. Marissa Neal VT: Yurchenko 1.5, 13.650

Elle Mueller BB: 13.250

8:30 pm Addison Fatta VT: Yurchenko double, just a 13.050

Amelia Disidore VT: Yurchenko double, 14.300!

Brooke Pierson UB: Saw her hit the full-in dismount in the background of floor. 13.050

8:27 pm. Jade Carey FX: Apparently she’s getting her Kyla 2013 “artistry makeover” with this routine, we love to see it. Full-twisting double layout, great landing. Front layout through to full-in with a slight hop. She’s still phoning in some of the “artistry” but the choreography is definitely more there. Double double, casual third pass! Great landing there. Tour jeté half. Double tuck with a slight hop. She made a facial expression at the end that wasn’t pure dread at having to perform artistry which I’m thrilled about! Awwww, Jade. 14.050 (5.9, 8.150)

8:26 pm. Getting some Jade Carey Olympic floor fluff!

8:24 pm. Still going through the touch for the final rotation!

8:21 pm. Rotation 3 Standings

1. Shilese Jones 43.100
– Konnor McClain 43.100
3. Jordan Chiles 42.200
4. Kayla DiCello 42.150
5. Jade Carey 41.600
6. Skye Blakely 41.050
7. Lexi Zeiss 40.400
8. Katelyn Rosen 40.250

8:18 pm. Jordan Chiles BB: Strong bhs loso loso, front aerial to straddle jump (a little short) to back handspring, good full turn, side somi, she’s killing it! Some form throughout but so solid. Switch to sissone, side aerial, double pike with a hop back! Wow.

Amelia Disidore FX: 13.150

Marissa Neal FX: 12.350

8:16 pm. Lexi Zeiss UB: Toe full, some sway in her back, Pak, Maloney to Gienger, a little adjustment when catching, swings back into the Ezhova, van Leeuwen, full-in, stuck! 13.900

Nola Matthews BB: 11.950

8:15 pm. Kayla DiCello UB: Lovely handstand before the stalder full to Maloney to clear hip, arches over before the piked Tkachev (don’t remember the entry!), blind change, struggles to turn it around, to the Jaeger, Pak, she’s a little iffy throughout so far. Van Leeuwen, a little short before the giants to the full-in, stuck. 14.100 (5.6, 8.500)

8:14 pm. Levi Jung-Ruivivar UB: 12.050

Addison Fatta FX: 12.650

8:10 pm. Shilese Jones BB: Really strong standing arabian and she gets the flight series! Punch front with a wobble and leg up. Switch leap to sissone, very nice extension on both. Cross split jump half. Double pike with a step. 13.700 (5.5, 8.200) – this is a personal best score for her on this event in her elite career, going back to 2013!

Elle Mueller UB: 12.750

8:08 pm. Skye Blakely VT: Didn’t see it but looked like a good Yurchenko double! 14.300

Konnor McClain VT: Yurchenko double, really nice in the air and a great landing! 14.400

8:06 pm. Jade Carey BB: Really calm bhs loso loso, slight check at the end, but really strong throughout. Side aerial to jump series, a little short with a slight check. Good switch side and cross jump half, couldn’t see the form with this view. Double pike with a step back. 13.200

Brooke Pierson VT: Yurchenko 1.5, 13.700

Joscelyn Roberson VT: Yurchenko half-on front layout half, 13.750

Katelyn Rosen UB: 13.050

Charlotte Booth BB: 12.700

8:05 pm. Confirming Leanne Wong has scratched both, due to tweaking her ankle. Apparently she tried to warm up floor? They just showed a shot of her in tears.

8:03 pm. Katelyn Jong FX: Double double with a hop back. Strong tucked full-in. Hit the third pass and a double pike. 13.100

Ciena Alipio VT: Yurchenko 1.5, 11.950

Katelyn Rosen UB: 13.050

Leanne Wong just popped up as a scratch for floor and vault on the live scores…….

8:02 pm. This feels like a three-year break between rotations but I think we’re starting soon.

8:00 pm. Jade Carey interview! Jordan Chiles interview! They’re talking about NCAA, going from the Olympics to NCAA, and both going for Paris.

7:58 pm. Touch warm-up for the third rotation is underway! This should give McClain a chance to get ahead of Jones, who goes to her weakest event, beam. But it should still be close!

7:56 pm. Rotation 2 Standings

1. Shilese Jones 29.400
2. Konnor McClain 28.700
3. Jordan Chiles 28.600
4. Jade Carey 28.400
5. Kayla DiCello 28.050
6. Leanne Wong 27.350
7. Katelyn Rosen 27.200
8. Nola Matthews 26.850

7:52 pm. Skye Blakely FX: Full-twisting double layout, nice in the air, but she steps back and her heel goes OOB. Double layout with a step back. Switch ring to tour jeté half. Double tuck, cowboys the second one a bit. I don’t think I saw her third pass? 1.5 to front layout I think, or something along those lines. Assume she hit, I didn’t see any drama.

Amelia Disidore BB: 12.650

7:50 pm. Leanne Wong BB: I missed the very beginning, saw a very nice bhs loso from her, full L turn to full pirouette, switch ring with a check, front aerial to straddle jump to split jump, side aerial, side somi. 2.5, a little deep with a hop. 13.150 (5.5, 7.650)

Olivia Greaves UB: Her only routine today, and looks like a hit! Glad she’s back. 13.600 (5.4, 8.200)

Joscelyn Roberson FX: 12.850

7:47 pm. It feels like scores are taking 90 hours today!

Addison Fatta BB: 12.450

Brooke Pierson FX: 11.950

7:46 pm. Ciena Alipio FX: 11.950

7:45 pm. Shilese Jones UB: Stalder full, a little late but gets it to the Chow to Tkachev, great handstand before the toe full, rushes it a little but gets it to the Downie to Pak, lovely! Another great handstand before the van Leeuwen, and again before the toe half, a little short there, and a double front dismount with a little hop.

7:41 pm. Jade Carey UB: Church, gets it! Apparently she fell five times in the warmup. Turns herself around for an Ezhova, Maloney to Bhardwaj, slight leg separation, van Leeuwen, blind full comes up slightly late, full-in with a little hop. 13.600 (5.5, 8.100)

7:38 pm. Katelyn Jong BB: Switch leap mount. Standing full with a tiny check. Punch front. Wolf turn and layout stepout to back pike series, a wobble there, switch to pike jump, double pike, chest is a little low, hop back. 13.200 (5.5, 7.700)

Katelyn Rosen VT: Yurchenko 1.5, 13.650

Elle Mueller VT: Yurchenko 1.5, 13.850

Levi Jung Ruivivar VT: Yurchenko 1.5, 13.100

Lexi Zeiss VT: Yurchenko double, 13.400

Charlotte Booth UB: I saw her coming off in the background of Konnor’s floor routine unfortunately. 12.300

7:35 pm. Konnor McClain FX: Another super long wait for her. Why? She’s literally the first one up. Full-twisting double layout, knees are a little bent but she lands it well. Switch full. Double layout with a hop back. Hit her leap series, looked a bit short on the tour jeté half at the end of it. Good 1.5 to front full. Double pike landed very well. 13.900 (5.8, 8.100)

Kayla DiCello VT: Back to her Yurchenko double! Haven’t seen it yet. Getting a replay now and it’s very solid! Some loose knees and a hop back. 14.200

Jordan Chiles UB: Ooh, a hit! Going back to watch. Had a pirouette before the piked Tkachev to Pak, Maloney to Gienger, some iffy form in both, blind change to piked Jaeger, some leg form, bail is a little short, slightly short in the handstand before the full-in, which she sticks! 14.250 (5.9, 8.350)

Marissa Neal BB: 13.150

7:32 pm. Haven’t seen anything up on FlipNow yet but I think we saw most of the major routines? Would have liked to see Lexi Zeiss and Katelyn Rosen among others on floor but hey, we got way more than usual I think.

7:29 pm. Rotation 1 Standings

1. Jade Carey 14.800
– Konnor McClain 14.800
3. Shilese Jones 14.550
4. Jordan Chiles 14.350
5. Leanne Wong 14.200
6. Kayla DiCello 13.850
7. Ciena Alipio 13.600
8. Katelyn Rosen 13.550
– Addison Fatta 13.550

7:28 pm. Joscelyn Roberson BB: 13.250

Levi Jung-Ruivivar FX: 12.750

7:27 pm. Waiting for the last couple of routines while we’re in a commercial break.

7:24 pm. Elle Mueller FX: 12.950

7:22 pm. Kayla DiCello FX: Full-twisting double layout, little slide back. 1.5 to front full. Clean double tuck to finish. 13.850

7:21 pm. Skye Blakely BB: Triple wolf turn, ugh, a little off in her rotation on the standing full. That’s all they showed? Rude. 13.450

7:19 pm. Leanne Wong UB: Stalder half, slightest adjustment in her ankles before the swing into the straddle Jaeger, toe full arches slightly but stays in perfect vertical, to Bhardwaj, yes! Looked like her best so far based on all of the training I’ve seen. Maloney to Pak, van Leeuwen, nearly stuck double layout.

Ciena Alipio BB: 13.600

Katelyn Rosen FX: 13.550

7:16 pm. Shilese Jones VT: Yurchenko double, super clean, looked like it was slightly tighter and cleaner than Jordan’s if we want to compare two of the same vault. Bigger, too. 14.550!

Marissa Neal UB: 12.350

Katelyn Jong UB: 12.200

Addison Fatta UB: 13.550

7:15 pm. Jade Carey VT: Haven’t gotten to see this yet but looks like she nailed the Cheng! Just went back to watch and it was great. 14.800!

7:11 pm. Konnor McClain BB: Had a really long wait before she could go. Looked like Anna Liukin was doing a really good job keeping her calm and smiling. Standing full is awesome and she nails the bhs bhs layout series. Full turn. Switch to switch half, nice toe point. Front aerial a little slow to the split to straddle jump but the extension is excellent. Side aerial. Switch ring with a slight check. Double pike clean with a great landing. CLASSIC KONNOR. 14.800 (6.4, 8.400)!!!

Charlotte Booth VT: 13.700

Amelia Disidore UB: 11.550

Skye Blakely BB: 13.450

Lexi Zeiss FX: 13.100

7:10 pm. Jordan Chiles VT: Yurchenko double, like it’s easy. Super impressive, legs are GLUED throughout, really just has slightly soft knees just before landing but is otherwise excellent. 14.350

7:09 pm. Nola Matthews VT: Yurchenko full with a really solid landing. 13.100

Looks like Olivia Greaves isn’t vaulting.

7:08 pm. Still in the touch from the looks of it! Hopefully should wrap up shortly.

7:05 pm. I’ll also be sharing scores from routines we don’t see. Remember when Ashton Locklear did bars in 2014 and no one saw the routine and everyone was screaming because of her score?!

7:03 pm. I’m watching the stream on Peacock because I essentially refused to go to Florida. I’ll only see what airs on TV, but videos should go up regularly on FlipNow so I’ll try to grab key routines should we miss any. I’m sure we will.

7:00 pm. Athletes are getting ready for the touch and I’m getting ready to scream with excitement because it’s nationals. I’m not really THAT excited, tbh, I’m too tired for that, but I’m pretty excited.

6:54 pm. Here are the start lists for each apparatus today!

VT– Greaves, Matthews, Chiles, Booth, Carey, Jones

UB– Disidore, Neal, Jong, Fatta, Wong

BB– Blakely, McClain, Alipio, Pierson, Roberson

FX– Zeiss, DiCello, Rosen, Mueller, Jung-Ruivivar

    • The top five scores tonight were higher than the scores at Euros, but I don’t know if there were bonuses at play like with the men. And domestic scores tend to be a tad more forgiving in the E department. I can’t remember what the scores were at Pan Ams, but I don’t think they were higher than the top scores here. In other words, these appear competitive.

  2. Are the teams for Worlds five or six person teams? I sort of fell out of following gymnastics over the last year and I’m trying to get back into it.

  3. Am I the only one getting major Betty Okino bodyline vibes from Shilese? She reminds me so much of Okino, body type-line wise, except with much more power! Love it. Beautiful to watch.
