Chrysette Diggs
At the most recent U.S. elite qualifier held in Rochester, New York this weekend, a total of five juniors earned their elite scores, with an additional eight athletes reaching the Hopes levels.
Leading the pack for the juniors were a pair of WOGA gymnastics, with Chrysette Diggs putting up a 49.550 and her teammate Madelyn Eagle earning a 49.000, also getting the top score on floor with a 12.550. Also qualifying were Carla Fronc of Palmer’s Gymnastics with a 48.950 after posting the best vault and bars scores, Jazzy Saravia of Frist State with a 48.800, and Eva Doherty of World Class with a 48.750.
Another two juniors who didn’t earn their scores here but who are eligible to qualify for the Hopes 13-14 division based on their performances include Gianna Arthur of WOGA with a 48.000 and Alden Dante of Wildfire Gymnastics with a 46.650.
Seven seniors attempted to earn their scores here, but none were able to make it happen. Greta Krob of Iowa GymNest had the top senior all-around score with a 49.400, but while she fell short this time due to a rough performance on floor, she already qualified in Houston last month so hopefully will be able to shake this week’s meet off and come back strong at the Winter Cup. Most promising from her was her bars set, which earned a 13.600.
The Hopes 13-14 division was led by Khaimukvalentine Kelley of Gold Medal Gymnastics with a 47.900, which included the top scores on vault and beam Both she and Natalie Boyd of WOGA, who was just behind Kelley with a 47.850 after putting up the top scores on bars and floor, qualified at this level, while the Hopes 11-12 division saw four athletes get their scores, including Jemma Oie of Royal Gymnastics with a massive 49.250 (she nearly swept the competition with the best scores on every apparatus except vault), Aria Sanchez of North Stars with a 46.150, Cassidy Kurkowski of First State with a 45.350, and Chloe McDonough of World Class with a 45.050.
