2012 Olympic gold medalist and two-time World vault champion McKayla Maroney is officially out for the entire 2014 competitive season, the athlete said in a video on her Keek today.
Though Maroney was originally hoping to be back in time for the P&G Championships in order to make a bid for this year’s World Championship team, she stated that she will not be ready due to the multiple injuries she’s been dealing with all year.
Maroney will be in Chicago for the 2014 Secret U.S. Classic this weekend, signing autographs for fans before each session and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at a Chicago White Sox game.

You know she came back know so quickly after 2012 and all those injuries. Proved she still has it, and a break might honestly be what she needs if she’s looking towards Rio.
