The juniors ran the show in Prince George over the past week, coming out on top with Rose-Kaying Woo, Shallon Olsen, and Megan Roberts landing on the all-around podium at the Canada Games.

With junior difficulty bonus scoring in effect, Woo won all-around gold with a 59.55 after excellent performances on all four events. Olsen followed right behind with a 58.65, showing strong work everywhere but beam, while Roberts won the bronze with a 58.35, also struggling on beam, but looking great on her DTY and stellar floor performance.

The best senior of the meet was Helody Cyrenne in fourth with a 56.15, while Audrey Rousseau, a new senior, placed fifth with a 55.95, showing exquisite work on beam.

Woo, Rousseau, and Cyrenne were the backbone of the team from Quebec, which placed first earning a score of 227.15. Ontario, led by Roberts along with Mariana Colussi-Pelaez, won the silver with a 223.55, while British Columbia, Olsen’s squad, was third with a 218.6.

In the event finals during the final days of competition, Roberts showcased the strongest work, averaging a 15.35 to win the gold. Olsen was right behind her with a 15.3 average for her equally strong work, though Woo had a fall on her first attempt at the DTY, averaging a 14.85 for bronze.

On bars, Rousseau came in with the best performance for a 14.5, while Woo was the silver medalist with a fall for a 14.1 and Olsen, also with a fall, earned a 14.05 for bronze. Woo came back strong on beam, however, posting a 15.35 for her difficult routine to win gold. She was followed by Roberts in second with a 14.15 and Meaghan Ruttan, also a junior, in third with a 13.5.

Wrapping things up on floor, Roberts nabbed a second gold medal, posting a 15.25 for her nicely-executed routine. Olsen was second there with a 14.85, while Cyrenne was third with a 14.2.
