3:24 pm. Okay I’m back and also yes, I think it’s over lol. Let me look at results!
3:19 pm. I have to run for a second and fear it’ll be over by the time I come back!
3:14 pm. Reese Esponda USA VT: Really strong Yurchenko double full with a small hop back.
Went for a second vault but balked her run. Happened before she got close to the table, though, so she’s able to start over, this time does a Yurchenko half-on front tuck half, good recovery from the balk!
3:12 pm. Missed who went on beam for France and part of the routine but loooooved the mixed series that ended with a one-handed back handspring. Also had a triple flight series and a double tuck dismount. Maïana Prat maybe?
3:10 pm. Lola Chassat FRA BB: Solid bhs loso series. Mostly good double wolf turn. Switch to switch half, the latter was a little iffy and had a check, Korbut after. Wobbled on the side aerial. Front layout full dismount, small hop.
Charleigh Bullock USA VT: Yurchenko full, looked solid and clean. 13.433
3:09 pm. Caroline Moreau USA VT: Yurchenko full, looked like she lost power off the table? Twisted slowly and ended up really short with a big lunge forward.
3:07 pm. Long Zirong CHN FX: Nice on the 2.5 to front tuck. Hit the second pass and then a nice leap series. Double tuck was really low and rotated slowly, heavily buckled landing but kept it upright.
3:03 pm. Break before the final rotation!
3:01 pm. Manila Esposito ITA BB: Hit the opening mount series really well! Front aerial, then came off on something after that but I missed what. Off again on the wolf turn. Hit the dismount, think it was just a 1.5. 11.733
2:58 pm. Elena Colas FRA UB: Inbar half to Endo half to Maloney to stalder to Ricna, Pak, van Leeuwen was clean, inbar full to full-in, tiniest bounce. Really gorgeous work! Only one iffy moment in the first series but who even cares. 14.333!
2:55 pm. Emma Fioravanti ITA FX: Really powerful on the front layout to double front! Double layout was maybe a tiny bit short, but not bad, just takes a big step back OOB. 1.5 through to a back layout. Strong double pike to finish. Great work overall!
2:53 pm. I missed who was going on beam just now for China, but caught most of the routine, off on the layout series, had really nice jumps and leaps though, and pretty sure she stuck the double pike dismount.
2:51 pm. Benedetta Gava ITA FX: Full-in with a bounce back but I think she saved it from going OOB. Whip to double tuck with a couple of hops back, heels go OOB this time. Switch half was a little shy of the split. Front double full was nice! Double pike, hop back OOB.
2:48 pm. Adelina Ionescu ROU VT: Yurchenko full with mostly nice form and a solid landing, but then crashed the Tsuk tuck full in her second run.
2:46 pm. Long Zerong CHN BB: Hit the punch front mount and then a solid punch front after that as well. Bhs loso, bent legs especially on the latter but gets it around. Front aerial to split ring jump to back handspring. Switch ring to split jump to stag ring jump, that was really nice! Cross split jump to Yurchenko loop, looks like she caught it weirdly on her hips/was really forward on it and not supported? Dismounts with a double full with a hop and then steps into her salute.
2:41 pm. Moving to the fourth rotation!
2:39 pm. Benedetta Gava ITA BB: Front aerial, bobble. Straddle jump not quite there, another check, doesn’t get the series. Split jump to wolf jump. Bhs loso, bent legs throughout. Off on the double wolf turn. Big switch half. Hit the side somi and the dismount.
2:37 pm. Caroline Moreau USA FX: Double layout, slight leg separation in the air, but really nice landing. Full-in, again minor leg form but lands it well. Switch ring to tour jeté half. Front tuck through to double tuck, ends up really low and forward but pulls back to avoid a fall. 12.667
2:36 pm. Ming van Eijken FRA VT: Strong tsuk full, great form in the air. 13.300
2:34 pm. Emma Fioravanti ITA BB: Front pike mount. Switch leap to split jump half, short there and then has a big wobble, fall. Front aerial, wobble. Bhs loso, slips and falls again. Gets a punch front and the double wolf turn with minor faults. Double pike with a big hop back.
Reese Esponda USA FX: 13.700 (6.1 D)
2:33 pm. Cao Tianqi CHN UB: UB Missed a hand on a Shaposh element and almost went flying but her coach caught her. Still had to restart her swing before the Pak. Toe-on to Maloney to Gienger, blind change to front giant to front pirouette to piked Jaeger, fall. Hit the full-in dismount with a hop.
2:30 pm. Giulia Perotti ITA BB: Switch mount into a switch half I think was her mount series. Front handspring front tuck, lands a little low and has a bobble, comes off. Off again on the front aerial. And again on something after that. She looks dejected af, poor thing. Just does a layout dismount. 9.167
2:28 pm. Lola Chassat FRA VT: I think this may be her second vault? They cut away from her first I’m pretty sure. This one is a tucked tsuk full, some form and steps on the landing.
2:26 pm. Martina Maggio ITA BB: I missed the beginning, but caught up when she hit her acro series! Switch ring, little bounce on the landing. Hit the side aerial and front aerial, check on the latter. Side somi, a little forward when she lands it, falls. Hit the dismount with a little hop. I think it was a layout 1.5.
2:23 pm. Greta Krob USA FX: 1.5 through to double tuck, chest slightly down but not bad! Step back. Front tuck through to double full with a hop back. Double pike, some leg separation in the air and a low chest but finds the landing. 12.133
2:19 pm. That’s the break after the second rotation! Standings are, naturally, a mess.
2:17 pm. Adelina Ionescu ROU FX: Double tuck, form in the air and slow to rotate, falls to her back on the landing. 1.5 to front full, super tucked legs on both. Switch ring to tour jeté half. Split jump full. 2.5 at the end, form is a little weak, but she finds the landing with a small step.
2:16 pm. Emma Fioravanti ITA UB: Downie, flexed feet, gets it to the Pak, Chow to Tkachev, a little low but catches no problem. Blind change to front giant to giant half, toe full, a little late, some form, double layout dismount, minor soft leg form but gets the landing. 12.933
2:14 pm. Caroline Moreau USA BB: Switch leap mount, really short on the split half but connected it to the back tuck. Good triple wolf turn. A little shaky and had some form on the bhs loso. Front aerial, check into the split jump to straddle jump. Strong double pike dismount.
2:11 pm. Giulia Perotti ITA UB: inbar half to Endo half to Maloney to Downie, nice! Minor form. Pak, van Leeuwen with leg separation, blind full, and a full-in dismount, little hop. 14.133
Simone Rose USA BB: 13.267
2:06 pm. Martina Maggio ITA UB: Arched over the handstand before the stalder full to Ray to Pak, really nice after correcting that handstand. Toe full went a bit arched, to Maloney to Tkachev, nice height. Toe half before her front pirouette, barely makes it halfway around and can’t correct this time, jumps off. Back on for the front full, dismounts with a double pike.
2:05 pm. Zhang Xinyi CHN VT: Tsuk full, pikes it down a bit, some leg separation in the air, hop back.
2:01 pm. Greta Krob USA BB: Clean side aerial, doesn’t connect to the split jump to straddle jump, latter of these is a little short. Bhs loso loso, super solid! Switch leap. Double wolf turn, wobbles at the end and falls backwards but holds onto the beam. Kind of a “grabbed the beam” fall but not a fall. Front aerial, dismounts with a double tuck, hop back.
1:58 pm. That marks the second rotation! Didn’t see anything from the U.S. or Romanians in the first. I think China was on a bye.
USA UB scores – Caroline Moreau 13.433, Greta Krob 12.900, Simone Rose 12.867, Reese Esponda 12.833
ROU BB scores – Alexia Blanaru 12.933, Ariana Cotu 12.267, Daria Tanasa 10.533
1:54 pm. Maïana Prat FRA FX: 1.5 through to double tuck, good. Switch ring to split ring half, not bad on the latter. Hit the second pass and then I think did a split ring half again? I probably didn’t see one of them correctly. 2.5 for her last pass, some form but not bad.
1:51 pm. Elena Colas FRA FX: Think her first pass was a whip full through to a double tuck? Triple full in the second pass went a little wild and had a stumble on the landing. Switch ring, lovely, through to tour jeté half, also gorgeous. Front layout through to double full, small hop. Switch full, minor form there. Touched her hand to the floor midway through her double wolf turn. Double pike rotated slowly but she got it around with her chest down on the landing. 12.633
1:48 pm. Benedetta Gava ITA VT: Yurchenko double full with a GREAT landing!! Chest a little down but her feet barely move, this was really strong.
Second vault is a Yurchenko half-on front tuck. Doesn’t quite have this one as solid as the DTY but should make the final I’d imagine.
1:45 pm. Emma Fioravanti ITA VT: Handspring front layout, super arched in the air and her legs are fully apart throughout. Didn’t help that they gave us THE worst possible angle for this, every flaw was in your face.
Second vault was a Tsuk full with a hop back. A little tighter in her form on this.
1:43 pm. Emma Puato ITA VT: Yay, Yurchenko double full! Had to sneak the second twist around pretty quickly to get the landing, but no real issues finding it, maybe a tiny bit short.
1:42 pm. Rebecca Aiello ITA VT: Yurchenko full, decent flare in the air, solid landing, pretty clean overall.
1:38 pm. Touch warmups are underway!!
1:22 pm. I think we’re getting ready for the second subdivision to start soon! It looks like they’re prepping for the introductions now.
12:11 pm. There’s a break before the second subdivision btw! I have NO idea when it’s supposed to start but I’m going to guess around 7 pm local time, which is 2 pm ET / the time I’m blogging from? The second group has to do the pre-competition warmup which takes around 90 minutes or so.
11:55 am. I think these are the current standings…per the live scores, so who actually knows hehe.
1. July Marano ITA 52.499
2. Angelica Finiguerra ITA 50.933
3. Laia Font ESP 50.366
4. Alessia Marena ITA 49.701
5. Isabella Ajalla ARG 49.600
6. Zoe Tsaprailis CAN 49.367
7. Marina Escudero ESP 49.199
8. Carlota Armenta ESP 49.100
11:54 am. Beatrice Crivellaro ITA UB: I saw this from the bail to toe-on to toe shoot, caught the latter really close, blind full, front tuck half dismount.
11:50 am. Philippa Busuttil MLT UB: Blind change to front giant half, wild legs going into the Gienger but she gets it around, Pak, leg form there as well and rushes the turn out of it, clear hip to toe shoot, muscles the handstand before the toe full, which is rushed and WILD, into the layout dismount. Well, lots to clean up here…but a hit!
11:44 am. Breanna Scott AUS BB: Wobbled on the switch leap mount but adjusted well. Great on the layout series. Side aerial to split jump also really strong and controlled. Front aerial, kinda fell forward on the double wolf turn but don’t think she grabbed the beam? Just a wobble probably. Switch to wolf jump. Good punch front. Solid double pike.
11:42 am. Anthea Sisio ITA FX: Full-in with a hop back. Hit the double tuck well. Nice extension on her leap series after that. A little wild on the front handspring to front layout full. Hop back on the double pike.
11:41 am. Lisa Vaelen BEL VT: Handspring front layout half, good!
11:40 am. Lena Devreker BEL VT: Just a Yurchenko layout, not a ton of power, could use some tightening in the air, but hit.
11:34 am. Rotation break! I don’t trust the live scores because they don’t have updates for the Spanish athletes who went on floor? The live scores are a mess. SIGH.
11:32 am. I didn’t see who just went on bars but she had a Tkachev, stalder to rushed stalder full, floaty Maloney to piked Tkachev, short handstand before a toe half that was really short, and a double front dismount with a step back.
11:27 am. Ruby Pass AUS UB: We jumped in after she was remounting I’m pretty sure. Pak to van Leeuwen, toe full into the dismount. Well, what we saw was hit, but I assume something treacherous happened before that! 12.000
11:24 am. July Marano ITA BB: Bent knees on the switch mount, also a bit soft on the bhs loso, but she gets that around confidently. Side aerial, slight check. Switch to split jump half to split jump, again could be a little tighter on her form here. Stuck the 1.5 dismount. 12.600
11:23 am. Breanna Scott AUS UB: Started out a little labored in her swing I think? Caught the piked Jaeger, Shaposh to clear hip to blind half, think she was a little short on that pirouette, blind full was better, full-twisting double layout with a step forward. 12.967
11:21 am. Sofia Tonelli BB: Switch mount, tried to connect to a split jump half but missed it, fall. Bhs loso was a bit short but she corrects on the landing and stays on there. Switch leap was short, to split jump half, connection there was fine I think. Front aerial, side aerial, double wolf turn, all hit. 1.5 dismount had a little stumble back.
11:19 am. Carlota Armenta ESP FX: Powerful full-in, hop back. Memmel turn had a tiny bobble. Tour jeté half was nice. Front layout through to double tuck, chest a little forward but good landing overall. Switch leap to split ring leap, REALLY nice on the ring! Clean double pike, hop back.
11:18 am. Gabrielle Fausto CAN UB: Blind change to front giant to big straddle Jaeger, clean! Nice Pak, maybe leg separation? Hard to tell from this angle. Little hesitation in a handstand before the Ray to the high bar, blind full was a little late, just a layout dismount.
11:17 am. Sira Macias ARG VT: Yurchenko full, decent in the air, hop back.
11:15 am. Angelica Finiguerra ITA BB: Clean leap series. Break at the hips on the bhs loso. Some form on the ring leap and front aerial. Split ring jump was nice. Double wolf turn, very good. Hop back on the double full.
11:12 am. Moving on to the third rotation! I think there’s a bye and that’s been throwing me off as to why some athletes have more scores than others. I’ll figure this out eventually. Here’s what the live scores have right now…
1. Laia Font ESP 37.633
2. Carlota Armenta ESP 36.600
3. Marina Escudero ESP 36.566
4. Aitana Pacheco ESP 35.833
5. Lisa Vaelen BEL 35.700
6. Anthea Sisio ITA 26.500
7. Sofia Bianchi ITA 25.967
8. Angelica Finiguerra ITA 25.667
11:09 am. Sofia Tonelli ITA UB: Toe full, a little slow, Chow to Tkachev, good handstand before the Downie to Pak, clean van Leeuwen, maybe slightly soft knees, toe half to front giant to double front, big hop back.
11:07 am. Alba Petisco ESP BB: Hit the loso mount. Switch to switch half, a little short. Good on the double wolf turn, minor check. Super solid on the bhs bhs loso and side aerial. Ugh, double pike to her knees.
11:04 am. Marina Escudero ESP BB: Off on her back handspring mount. Also off on the roundoff layout series. Hit the side aerial to loso with a wobble. Good front aerial to split jump to Korbut and then also hit her leap series. Double pike came off a bit low but she got the landing.
11:03 am. Anthea Sisio ITA UB: Saw a Tkachev, Pak, Maloney to bail to toe-on to clear hip to toe shoot, caught the last skill really close, blind full was clean, blind half to front giant half, stuck the full-in dismount.
10:58 am. Lisa Vaelen BEL FX: Big tour jeté full to start, and then a clean double arabian, small hop there. Front layout full to front layout, uncontrolled step forward. Switch to switch full, kinda rushed the latter. Stuck the double tuck at the end!
10:57 am. Zoe Tsaprailis CAN VT: Yurchenko full, hit it with minor form and a decent landing. 12.800
10:56 am. Laia Font ESP BB: Hit the opening skills, double wolf turn was a bit wild, double pike dismount had a stumble, hit routine overall!
10:55 am. Okay I think I was a whole rotation behind? I honestly don’t know what’s happening. Just gonna go with the flow lol. And ignore live scores I guess?
10:50 am. That’s the end of the first rotation! Live scores are showing two apparatuses though so I’m confused. Oh I think my stream was behind lmao. I’m gonna try to catch up I guess?? Actually my stream is correct, maybe it’s the stream being behind in general? I think we’re actually a few routines into the second rotation IRL.
10:48 am. Beatrice Crivellaro ITA BB: Clean front aerial to split jump to sissone. Strong bhs loso, minor form. Side somi was HUGE, almost thought she’d miss that landing! Standing back tuck. Switch leap to split leap, second leap could’ve been a little more 180. Also had a split jump half and full turn, hit the gainer dismount.
10:45 am. Philippa Busuttil MLT BB: Ooh, back handspring mount right into two more connected back handsprings, nice. Triple wolf turn I think? Took her a second to get it all the way around but she got there in the end. Switch leap to split jump half, wouldn’t count the connection and the second jump was weak in form. Front aerial to split jump to straddle jump, good connections there. Side aerial, break at the hips. Double full, hop back.
10:41 am. Sira Macias ARG BB: A little short on the switch leap mount. Side aerial to back handspring goes awry on the connection and she misses the latter completely. Back on for a back handspring on its own, bent legs there. Switch leap to split jump half was a little weak in form. Hit a double wolf turn and side somi, minor wobble on the latter. 1.5 dismount with a hop.
10:39 am. Alessia Cepparulo ITA FX: Great front tuck through to double tuck! Clean double pike to follow. Great switch ring to split ring leap. 2.5 at the end was so nice, she twists SO fast. Lovely work!
10:37 am. Lisa Vaelen BEL UB: Caught a Tkachev and Jaeger, solid on the Pak and van Leeuwen, blind full, double tuck dismount, stuck!
10:35 am. Gabrielle Fausto CAN FX: Strong full-in to start, chest down but overall good. A little stumbly on the double L turn but not bad at all. Clean double pike. Lovely switch half to tour jeté half. Front tuck through to layout full went well.
10:34 am. Carlota Armenta ESP VT: Yurchenko full, minor form in the air and a step back, but some solid power.
10:33 am. Fila Dalinger ARG BB: Went for a bhs loso loso but had a fall at the end of the series. Hit the punch front after. Switch half was a bit short and had a wobble. Good side aerial, and hit the double full dismount to finish.
10:25 am. I think touch warmups are about to begin! Competition probably around 10:35. We are clearly running on Italian time here.
10:18 am. Okay, these intros are all going to be VERY long and so extra. Spain brought fans!!! I’d say competition around 10:30 lol.
10:11 am. Introductions are happening now!
10:01 am. Good morning if you’re in the USA, good afternoon if you’re in Europe, and I guess go to bed if you’re further east than that??
I’m watching the stream on SportFace and following results on GymResult.
Based on the clock in the background, it looks like there’s still about eight minutes left of the warmup period? They’re currently interviewing the U.S. juniors (after about a full half hour of interviewing the poor Italian juniors!!), so I assume the competition for the seniors will start around 10:10 am ET? With an introduction first I’m sure. Maybe competition in 20 minutes or so?
