With those results. I do not understand why Mai Murakami didnt get selected for worlds.

This competition was one of her first successful competitions of the year. One weekend of hit floor routines isn’t going to do much for the team…her max score is a 14.45, she averages a 13.66 on the event, and her SV is 5.9. Miyakawa’s max on floor is a 14.85, she averages a 14.25, and her SV is 6.3. Plus, Miyakawa has a Rudi on vault that consistently scores in the 15s. Miyakawa adds more to the team on her two best events, and has also earned better AA scores than Mai all season so she can be a better help on UB/BB if needed. In the individual settings, she also will definitely make vault finals if she hits in qualifications whereas Mai’s difficulty is nowhere near enough for a vault final, and she has more potential than Mai in a floor final. Easy decision.
