Welcome to week four on our NCAA live blog! Just a reminder that updates will come every few minutes, usually after a routine has finished. Just refresh your browser and the most recent will appear at the top. Enjoy!
SATURDAY JANUARY 30
10:22 pm. Looks like the final standings are as follows:
- Oklahoma, 197.500
- LSU, 196.750
- Washington, 196.175
- Stanford, 196.075
- Missouri, 195.825
The Washington upset of Stanford is crazy! Prior to this, Washington’s best score was 194.65!
10:13 pm. Scaman, Oklahoma, FX- Bring it hoooome! Humongous double layout. Rudi to loso, good. Double tuck to a controlled lunge.
Stanford, BB- No idea who this is, ngl. She’s stepping in for Taylor Rice who was scrapped from this lineup. Bhs loso is solid. Wobbles on switch, misses connection to split jump, wobble, 1.5 with a step.
10:10 pm. Jackson, Oklahoma, FX- Love her energy in this routine. Great whip half to Rudi. So many whip halfs at this meet. Middle pass is good, ended with a front full but I didn’t see anything before that, and she nails her double pike to finish.
Chuang, Stanford, BB- Nails bhs loso. Full turn. Gainer full with her chest down.
10:08 pm. Jones, Oklahoma, FX- 2.5 to front tuck, hit. 1.5 to front layout. Great double pike to finish.
Price, Stanford, BB- Front aerial, bhs layout is great, switch leap to split jump, kills the double pike.
10:05 pm. There’s something really fancy and magical about Capps on floor and Hong on beam at the same time.
Capps, Oklahoma, FX- Over-rotates double pike a little. Hit middle pass, and Rudi is good, just a little weird thing at the very end of her landing.
Hong, Stanford, BB- Hitting everything…I didn’t catch specifics but it was a gorgeous routine with a stuck gainer pike off the end of the beam.
10:06 pm. Gnat, LSU, VT- Stuck DTY. Still with minor form issues so I doubt it’ll get a 10 here…maybe a 9.95 or 9.975? Nope, 10.
10:04 pm. Wyrick, LSU, VT- Yurchenko layout half, good landing.
Hambrick, LSU, VT- FTY, stuck but a little low
10:02 pm. Ewing, LSU, VT- Yurchenko 1.5, wild legs after she leaves the table but it’s a great landing.
Brown, Oklahoma, FX- Great double full to start. Solid front layout front full. Finishes with a Rudi.
Fitzgerald, Stanford, BB- Front aerial to back tuck, solid. Hitch kick to front toss, with a fall. Ugh. Stuck 1.5
Finnegan, LSU, VT- FTY, big hop back, but she looks good in the air.
10:00 pm. I love when they say “judges, take charge of your events.” It sounds like everyone is running WILD and the judges have to smack them into submission.
Kmieciak, Oklahoma, FX- Great double pike to start. Hit middle pass and double tuck to finish.
Macadaeg, LSU, VT- FTY with a solid landing.
N. McNair, Stanford, BB- I saw from her jump series, dismounted with a double full with a hop back.
9:59 pm. WOW, a 196.175 for Washington!!!!!
For those that haven’t finished, Oklahoma leads at 148.05, LSU is at 147.3, Stanford is at 146.775, and Missouri is at 146.675.
9:55 pm. Never mind, she’s there. The beam cam was on Ivana Hong and it’s mind-blowing to me that her own Olympic (alternate) year was EIGHT YEARS AGO.
9:54 pm. Is Simone Biles there or are they just yelling out her name?
9:49 pm. Gnat, LSU, FX- Love her opening choreo. Huge awesome double layout. 2.5 to punch front, a little crossed in her ankles but wah wah, I just like being picky. Double pike, chest is down and she has to fight the landing a tiny bit, but overall a great routine.
9:47 pm. Capps, Oklahoma, BB- Gorgeous press handstand. Solid bhs loso to beat jump. Front aerial, the Hunger Games hanging tree song is playing, good times. Cartwheel to stuck gainer full!
9:46 pm. Wyrick, LSU, FX- Hit opening tucked full-in, whip half to front layout to layout half, love that pass. Nails double tuck to finish.
9:45 pm. Lovan, Oklahoma, BB- Switch to straddle 1/4, nice work. Full turn with a wobble, check, saves it. Front aerial to bhs to beat jump. Standing loso, lovely. Gainer full with a tiny hop.
9:44 pm. Kelley, LSU, FX- Big double layout only slightly skidded. Front layout front full. Why do people say she was elite? She went to national team camps but never qualified to Classics and that’s the decision-maker, not going to the ranch. Double tuck, a little short.
9:43 pm. Hong, Stanford, UB- Nice Tkachev (maybe a Ray? I didn’t see the entry), bail, big floaty stuck double layout.
9:42 pm. Brown, Oklahoma, BB- Wobble and leg up on front aerial, bhs loso, wobble on split to straddle 3/4, switch to stuck gainer full.
9:41 pm. Finnegan, LSU, FX- 1.5 through to 2.5, LOVE. Double tuck is awesome. Great double pike as well to finish.
Price, Stanford, UB- Love her little pep talk from Dare before going up! Great first handstand, Maloney to clear hip to Church to bail to Ray, YAAAAAAAAAAAAS. Can’t get ENOUGH. Double layout, nailed.
9:40 pm. Jones, Oklahoma, BB- Hits flight series. Cat leap to front toss, switch leap to split leap, 1.5 with a step.
Maxwell, Stanford, UB- Short on first handstand, toe-on to Ray to overshoot, good. Giant full to double tuck, a little low with a step.
9:39 pm. Hambrick, LSU, FX- Big double layout, 2.5 is short going into the punch front tuck, Double pike to finish, great.
9:37 pm. Lehrmann, Oklahoma, BB- Full turn, front aerial, bhs loso is very steady, 1.5 dismount, step. Solid set.
D. McNair, Stanford, UB- Hit release to overshoot, big double layout with a step back.
9:36 pm. wing, LSU, FX- Front double full with a step. Front full to front layout. Good double pike to finish.
Rice, Stanford, UB- Jaeger, pak, giant full to double tuck, little hop forward.
9:34 pm. Kmieciak, Oklahoma, BB- Steady bhs loso. Hit everything in the interior. Double back with a step.
McNair, Stanford, UB- When in doubt it’s probably a McNair. Hit routine.
9:22 pm. Gnat, LSU, BB- Front aerial to beat jump, hit jump series. Switch side, bhs loso with slightly bent knees, hit double full dismount. I accidentally stalked her dad on Facebook the other day (we have mutuals I guess) and he seems like a cool dude, so shoutout to Ray Gnat.
Goings, Washington, FX- Tucked full-in, good. A little short on her double back. Whip to 1.5 to punch front tuck, a little step out.
9:20 pm. Finnegan, LSU, BB- Welp. There we go. Triple wolf is super wobbly and she falls off forward just as she’s about to land it, so LSU will count a fall. That skill was good in week one, perfect week two, messy last week, and now a tiny little disaster today. Bhs loso, a little check on her leaps, side somi, hit dismount.
9:19 pm. Wofford, Oklahoma, UB- Giant full, Jaeger, toe-on to clean bail, full-in stuck with slightly bent knees. Killer.
9:18 pm. Ewing, LSU, BB- Off on her bhs layout. Otherwise a little wobbly. 1.5 with a step back.
9:17 pm. Kmieciak, Oklahoma, UB- Big Tkachev, toe shoot, great last handstand, and hit her dismount, stepped out quickly. Solid routine.
9:16 pm. Scaman, Oklahoma, UB- Blind change to piked Jaeger, good. Bail, stuck full-in and with her chest UP! Excellent work.
Harris, Missouri, VT- Solid FTY.
9:15 pm. Gauthier, LSU, BB- Smooth bhs loso, switch to tuck jump full, sissone to gainer loso, a wobble. 1.5 with a step.
9:14 pm. Capps, Oklahoma, UB- Giant full to butt-grazer Tkachev. Clean bail, stuck full-in with her chest slightly down.
9:13 pm. Hambrick, LSU, BB- Hitch kick to side aerial, switch to straddle 1/4, double full dismount. Missed some stuff in there, just little wobbles everywhere though. 9.85
Lehrmann, Oklahoma, UB- Hit release, toe on to the longest bail handstand EVER, bless. Full-out with a great landing.
Someone from Missouri just crashed an FTY.
9:12 pm. Since live stats aren’t working, from the arena…
Washington – 98.400
Mizzou – 97.65
Stanford – 97.45
Oklahoma – 49.325
LSU – 49.325
9:11 pm. Macadaeg, LSU, BB- Wobble on a full turn, front aerial to straddle, balance check. I missed some jumps in there I think…sorry, they started too fast for me. Bhs loso with a big wobble and her leg up. Gainer full, stuck.
Jackson, Oklahoma, UB- Piked Jaeger, bail, full-out with a tiny step back to steady herself.
9:06 pm. I have a triple echo happening right now so it sounds like Taylor Swift is losing her mind. Touch warm-ups starting now.
9:04 pm. Rotation three will see Missouri on vault, Oklahoma on bars, LSU on beam, Washington on floor, and Stanford with a bye. I’ll follow OU and LSU for sure, and then will catch Mizzou when I can, and will switch to UW when vault is done. I only have three screens running so I can live blog in the tiny little corner I’ve made for myself.
9:02 pm. After one event apiece, Oklahoma leads LSU 49.35 to 49.325. Gonna be clooooose! I’d actually love to see Stanford challenge for one of the top two spots but they got like a 48.9 on vault I think so I don’t know if that’ll be possible.
9:00 pm. Harris, Missouri, FX- Excellent double pike to start. Hit middle pass, either a front full or 1.5, I didn’t see the entry. Double tuck is a solid finish. Great job.
8:59 pm. Northey, Washington, BB- Full turn, switch to straddle 3/4, bhs loso with a check, front toss to beat jump, 1.5 stuck!
8:58 pm. Missouri 5, BB- Opens with a double pike. Front full to front layout, double tuck scooted back.
8:56 pm. Goings, Washington, BB- Nails bhs loso flight series. Hits jumps, full turn, standing loso, side aerial to layout full, chest down.
8:54 pm. Zamardi, LSU, UB- Maloney to pak, very clean. Super quick arabian dismount, just a little hop.
Duranczyk, Washington, BB- Loso loso combo, a little wobble but she saves it. Good 1.5 dismount.
8:53 pm. Finnegan, LSU, UB- Just realized it’s the 2012 Olympic alternate reunion tonight! Awesome Ray. Toe-on to bail, clean, to toe shoot. Stuck double layout with her chest down and in a little squat.
Missouri 3, FX- Hit routine, I only saw the last pass, a Rudi with slightly wild legs.
8:52 pm. Chuang, Stanford, VT- FTY, piked and a little short. Decent landing.
8:51 pm. Priessman, LSU, UB- Tkachev to pak with super split legs. Nice last handstand before double layout, piked down at first but she opens up and sticks.
8:50 pm. Price, Stanford, VT-HUUUUGE FTY. Rebound back.
8:49 pm. N. McNair, Stanford, VT- FTY, slight hop back. Not bad.
Savona, LSU, UB- Messy on most of her skills and short on handstands. Hit everything, though, so there’s that.
8:48 pm. Fitzgerald, Stanford, VT- FTY, form could be a little tighter, but not bad.
8:47 pm. Rice, Stanford, VT- FTY, great. Clean and nearly stuck.
Missouri 1, FX- Front layout to front full, nice, controlled step forward.
Hambrick, LSU, UB- Nice Tkachev, giant full to bail to toe shoot, all good so far, over-arches on last handstand, and a full-in stuck with bent knees.
8:46 pm. Gnat, LSU, UB- Gienger, bail to toe shoot, sloppy. Double layout with Jay Clark’s huge racist ass blocking it if you didn’t already loathe him.
D. McNair, Stanford, VT- FTY
8:45 pm. PS it’s really hard for me to see who people are on the tiny screen, and I don’t know a lot of names for Missouri aside from a few so I’m just going to put like, Stanford 1, Stanford 2, and so on and will add names later I guess?
8:43 pm. I’ll be watching Stanford, LSU, and Missouri in the second rotation. Sorry Washington but I’ve seen you three times this season. I’ll switch to them when I can, after Stanford’s vault.
8:41 pm. Would update you with scores but the live scores aren’t working, naturally.
8:36 pm. Price, Stanford, FX- Huge stuck double layout!! YAS. Big applause. Front layout to front full with a slight step on the landing. Big double tuck. Awesome job.
8:34 pm. Stanford, FX- Double pike, not bad. Front lay front full, little bobble on the landing. Double tuck, a little short with a step.
OSU beat ASU 195.875 to 193.075.
8:31 pm. Chuang, Stanford, FX- Solid double pike to start. Double full, not the best form. 1.5 to front layout, comes in way short and sits it.
Jacobsen, OSU, FX- I’m catching it from the middle. Hits her jump series. 2.5 way under-rotated, needs to step it over.
8:28 pm. Gardiner, OSU, FX- Triple full is super under-rotated. 2.5 to front half, tucked but is supposed to be in a layout.
Stanford, FX- Double pike. Hit middle pass. Double tuck, chest super low and she steps forward.
8:26 pm. Jackson, OU, VT-Yurchenko 1.5, huge step forward
Belkoff, ASU, BB- Hit triple flight series, front aerial to Korbut, hit 1.5 dismount. I think I missed a big error because her score’s low.
8:24 pm. Scaman, Oklahoma, VT- Yurchenko 1.5, beautiful and huge, just slightly steps forward.
Stanford, FX- Skids out of double tuck. Hit middle pass. 1.5 to front pike, hit with loose form.
Radermacher, OSU, FX- Double full to punch front tuck, 2.5, great. Hit routine.
8:22 pm. Kmieciak, Oklahoma, VT- Clean FTY, holds onto the stick but puts her chest down slightly.
Capps, Oklahoma, VT- Big FTY with the tiniest little bounce in place.
Frowein, Stanford, FX- I missed her first pass, I think it was a double pike. Double L turn! Hit middle pass. 9.625
Conrad, ASU, BB- Bhs loso, big wobble but saves it. Side somi. Switch to switch side. Front layout full with a hop.
8:21 pm. Marks, Oklahoma, VT- Pretty clean FTY with a hop back.
Udowitch, ASU, BB- I missed it but it was hit!
Jimenez, OSU, FX- Double tuck with a big step back. 1.5. 2.5 hit.
8:20 pm. Jones, Oklahoma, VT- Great landing on her FTY.
8:17 pm. Perez, OSU, FX- Double pike, short on the landing. Performing her pants off as usual! I want whatever drugs she’s on, seriously. Awesome triple turn! Front full to front layout half to straddle jump, great. Hit last pass. 9.9
8:16 pm. Callis, ASU, BB- Bhs bhs loso, nice. Switch to split jump. Hit dismount with some form issues.
8:15 pm. When Metroplex starts in a couple of minutes, I’ll be focusing on Oklahoma and Stanford to start out, and then I’ll try to get what I can from the other two.
8:14 pm. Ricci, OSU, FX- Nice 2.5, double pike with a step back. 1.5 to front layout, great job.
8:13 pm. Salas, ASU, BB- Bhs loso with a little bobble, hit everything else including front layout full with a hop.

8:06 pm. OSU leads 146.8 to ASU’s 144.575 going into the final rotation. I’m about to add Metroplex into the mix so get READY.
8:03 pm. Imbus, ASU, FX- 2.5, a little short and she sits. “That’s too bad.” This commentator is Carly Patterson. Switch ring, 1.5 to front layout is great, double back to finish. Kinda messy but not bad.
8:02 pm. Gardiner, OSU, BB- Good jump series. Front aerial, bhs loso, side somi, stuck gainer full.
8:00 pm. Allex, ASU, FX- Double arabian to start, a little short and she shuffles her feet. 2.5 to front full, awesome difficulty levels but her legs are janky.
7:58 pm. McMillan, OSU, BB- Front toss to beat jump, slow connection. Bhs loso, one-armed front handspring to her knees, love that always. Switch to straddle 1/4, a little off. Stuck gainer full.
7:57 pm. Salas, ASU, FX- Front double full, front layout to front double full, both good. Double pike, not bad.
7:55 pm. Perez, OSU, BB- Front aerial with a bent leg, decent bhs loso, full turn, missed a connection, so she does a pike jump to a sheep jump, cool flexibility nonsense, stuck gainer full.
7:53 pm. Udowitch, ASU, FX- Double pike, big step back. Decent 1.5 to front pike.
7:52 pm. S. Colussi-Pelaez, OSU, BB- Split jump to ring jump, bhs loso with a big check. Side aerial to stuck layout full.
7:50 pm. Belkoff, ASU, FX- Double pike, steps back and out-of-bounds. 1.5 to front layout. I missed her middle pass. Great routine.
I missed the first two on OSU’s beam rotation and the first on ASU’s floor, but it looks like Megan Jimenez hit beam for a 9.8 and Katelyn Lentz hit floor for a 9.75. Mariana Colussi-Pelaez got a 9.65 on beam.
7:38 pm. S. Colussi-Pelaez, OSU, UB- Hop change to straddle Jaeger, and she’s too far away. Falls. Oh well, at least she’s the last up. Good stalder work, bail is super short, double layout is a little short, with a step forward.
7:37 pm. Allex, ASU, VT- Yurchenko 1.5 with a good landing, lots of power and great control. 9.85
7:36 pm. McMillan, OSU, UB- Their leos look like the 2013 U.S. leos from worlds. Jaeger to overshoot, big floaty double layout with a hop back. 9.75
7:35 pm. Salas, ASU, VT- Cool shots of mats and springboards right now but nah, don’t show the vault. Here we go, FTY, short, hop back. 9.775
7:34 pm. Jacobsen, OSU, UB- Short on handstand, Tkachev, bail, giant half to stuck double front. Some little missteps there but that was an awesome dismount. 9.725
7:33 pm. Kraus, ASU, VT- FTY, nice until the landing, which was short and she kicked out her bag leg. 9.575
7:32 pm. Gardiner, OSU, UB- Toe-on to Maloney, very nice, to bail. Beautiful handstand before her stalder to double tuck, which is super short, she let go way too soon and steps forward. So close. 9.775
7:31 pm. Belkoff, ASU, VT- Super piked FTY, not a ton of height. 9.6
7:30 pm. Khamedoost, OSU, UB- Arches over on handstand before Maloney (big leg sep) to bail, short on last handstand, aggressive giants, piked double layout. 9.775
7:29 pm. Lentz, ASU, VT- They decided to show a full replay of Mariana instead of this vault, nbd. Oh, here we go. FTY, big hop back. 9.625
7:28 pm. Imbus, ASU, VT- FTY, not clean at all, looked tucked. 9.6
M. Colussi-Pelaez, OSU, UB- Huge Jaeger, bail with leg sep, clean stuck double layout. 9.85
7:20 pm. Allex, ASU, UB- Waaaay off on her release, I think a Jaeger, I couldn’t really see. Messy overshoot, short on handstand before giant full to messy full-in with a hop. Cool dismount combo though. 8.65
7:19 pm. Gardiner, OSU, VT- Clean FTY until the end when she pikes down and steps back. 9.825
7:18 pm. Kraus, ASU, UB- Leg separation on giant full before Tkachev to overshoot, good combo though. Super clean double layout with a little bounce in place. 9.7
7:17 pm. Jimenez, OSU, VT- Huge FTY, tiny hop back. She also has major leg sep on the pre-flight though. 9.825
7:16 pm. Imbus, ASU, UB- Maloney to messy bail to stalder to toe-on pike circle. Double layout is under-rotated and she takes several big steps back. 9.55
7:15 pm. Khamedoost, OSU, VT- FTY, good landing, just leg separation and a slight chest down. 9.7
7:14 pm. Lentz, ASU, UB- Toe-on to Gienger, super messy and nowhere near where it needs to be. Falls, no surprise. Over-arches on handstand, bail, double layout with a hop. 8.9
7:12 pm. Perez, OSU, VT- FTY, super tucked but for some reason she’s thrilled?! 9.675
7:11 pm. Udowitch, ASU, UB- Jaeger, extra swing before her bail which has some leg separation, stalder, up to the high bar, and then a stalder to a double tuck. 9.525
7:10 pm. Ricci, OSU, VT- FTY, hop back, big lep separation. 9.75
7:09 pm. Salas, ASU, UB- Short on first handstand, giant full to giant half to bail, short. Short on handstand before giants to double layout, stuck. So was she missing something? She only did a bail and a dismount? 9.7
7:08 pm. Jacobsen, OSU, VT- Tsuk full, a little stumble on the landing, but a good job from her…just a little piked and leg separation on the pre-flight. 9.75
7:02 pm. I always get excited when OSU goes up against ASU because of Risa Perez being like “look, I’m with my new friends now, BAM.” Just me?
6:56 pm. Oregon State vs Arizona State coming up in a few! Watch it here if you have a cable log-in and get the Pac 12 Network! Actually, since OSU is producing, it might be free.
5:50 pm. Nina McGee got titles on all four events and in the all-around with a 39.525! She shares the beam title with BGSU’s Laura Mitchell.
5:45 pm. Denver wins this one with a 196.125 to Bowling Green’s 194.525.
5:43 pm. Still waiting for final scores from BGSU, but Eastern Michigan just beat Northern Illinois 194.775 to 193.950.
5:39 pm. Nocella, BGSU, FX- Double tuck with a little wobble on the landing. Front layout to front layout to Rudi, great work there. Double pike is way short, unfortunately. An otherwise solid routine. 9.675
5:37 pm. Barrett, Denver, BB- Bhs loso, check. Side aerial, full turn, check. Cat leap to a switch leap with a wobble. Gainer loso to split jump. 1.5 with a slight hop back. 9.775
5:35 pm. Mitchell, BGSU, FX- Double pike, good. Solid double tuck. 1.5 with bent knees to a punch layout, great work. 9.825
5:34 pm. McGee, Denver, BB- Standing loso, HUGE straddle 1/4. Solid bhs loso. Full turn goes over by a quarter but she turns it into choreo because she’s a rockstar. Gainer full with a little step. 9.85
5:32 pm. Feely, BGSU, FX- Beautiful front layout to Rudi to loso. Solid double pike. Rudi to finish. I still don’t like that you can do the same skill twice if it’s in different combinations. 9.8
5:30 pm. Ross, Denver, BB- Front aerial to bhs, good switch ring. I’m pretty sure she had fouettes in her floor routine last year and I fell in love. Full turn with a slight check. Side aerial to stuck layout full…actually slides one foot slightly toward the other. 9.825
5:28 pm. Heath, BGSU, FX- Double pike, chest a little down, but a good landing. 1.5 to front layout is good. “As a gymnast you grow up in the environment of throwing your body in the air.” “Victoria Heath is throwing her body in the air very nicely.” This commentary is killing me. Double tuck, good routine. 9.85
5:27 pm. Chesnok, Denver, BB- Bhs loso, solid. Front aerial to beat jump, 1.5 with a hop. 9.8
5:25 pm. Rose, BGSU, FX- Omg her music is a disaster, I love it. Double pike with a step back. 1.5 to front layout with some leg separation. Double tuck, short and skidded. 9.75
5:24 pm. Menhinick, Denver, BB- Says this is Hammen but it’s 100% not. Bhs bhs loso, great. Good jumps, including pike jump to back tuck. Hits double full with a step back. 9.725
5:22 pm. Creagh, BGSU, FX- 1.5 to front pike. Front layout to front full. Rudi with a little bobble. 9.65
5:20 pm. Schou, Denver, BB- Wobble on bhs loso. Front aerial to sissone, slow connection. Beat jump to sheep jump. Hit dismount. 9.7
5:15 pm. Denver leads 146.55 to Bowling Green’s 145.625.
5:08 pm. MgGee, Denver, FX- Huge double layout to start. Front full to front lay is a little short but she hits the landing no problem. Nails double pike to finish. 9.925
5:06 pm. Mitchell, BGSU, BB- That crazy mount that all the Brits do where they flip backwards and hold the beam from underneath. WHO STARTED THAT. I love it. Bhs loso, tiny check. Good jump series into a back tuck. Side aerial into a jump, side somi, full turn, great double full dismount. “Lotta spin!” according to the color commentator. 9.85
5:04 pm. Addison, Denver, FX- Great double layout to start. 1.5 to front layout. Big double pike into a nice controlled lunge. 9.875
5:03 pm. Nocella, BGSU, BB- Solid bhs loso, switch to ring jump, front toss, all good so far. 1.5 with a big hop forward. 9.75
5:01 pm. Hammen, Denver, FX- CLAIRE HAMMEN!!! I love that I watched both Brandie Jay and Claire in their respective NCAA meets today…I remember 5 years ago watching them at the elite qualifier at WOGA. They grow up so fast. Her music is like an elevator muzak version of “Love Me Like You Do.” Like, 80s sax. It’s horrifying. But Claire isn’t. Hits double back, lovely 2.5. Front full front layout. 9.85
4:59 pm. Ellingboe, BGSU, BB- Solid bhs loso. Full turn, side aerial, switch to straddle 1/4, tuck gainer full with a hop. 9.775
4:57 pm. Schou, Denver, FX- Another 2.5 from Denver. Front full to front pike, good. Hit routine! 9.825
4:55 pm. Reis, BGSU, BB- Solid bhs bhs loso. “Do you know how wide the bream is?” Hahaha this color commentary dude needs to learn at least one thing about gymnastics. Sheep jump is low. Lovely full L turn. Gainer layout full, stuck. 9.625
4:54 pm. Barrett, Denver, FX- Double pike, solid. Front layout to front full. 2.5 with a step. 9.775
4:52 pm. Rae, BGSU, BB- Former New Zealand national team member! Messes up her mount and has a little bobble there, it’s a press handstand of sorts. Front toss but with a sideways landing? What would that be, like a front toss 1/4? Hit dismount, a front layout full with a step. 9.55
4:51 pm. Menhinick, Denver, FX- 2.5 to front tuck is AWESOME. Her choreo is super basic though. 9.775
4:48 pm. Feely, BGSU, BB- Hits jump series, bhs loso is solid, full turn, cartwheel to gainer full. 9.675
4:45 pm. Denver leads 97.9 to 96.95 at the halfway point. McGee has the top scores on both vault and bars. Sweep city?
4:44 pm. Oh my goodness this sideline reporter is like, on his first day of work doing ANYTHING in life hahaha. Marie Case is the assistant coach!! Love her. She was great for Kent State.
4:41 pm. Ellingboe, BGSU, UB- Blind change to piked Jaeger to overshoot. Very aggressive giants, and a full-twisting double layout dismount with a bobble on the landing. 9.85

4:32 pm. Mitchell, BGSU, UB- This is their former British national team member who went to junior Euros and YOGs in 2010. Misses her set on the beginning of her Maloney so she does another pike circle, releases, and can’t grasp the high bar. Fall. Tkachev is good, and a giant full to double tuck, solid. 8.9
4:31 pm. Schou, Denver, VT- FTY, form is way loose, bounces in place. 9.7
4:30 pm. Barrett, Denver, VT- They decided to not show this. 9.75
Goniwiecha, BGSU, UB- Giant full to Tkachev, fall. Straddle back, giant full to double tuck with a step. 8.8
4:23 pm. Michigan State won their quad meet with a 193.925! Towson is second with 193.8, Rutgers third with 193.55, and Pittsburgh fourth with 193.1. Love everyone within a point…such a fun, tight meet. I just noticed today that MSU has a grad student, Haley Sedgewick, on their roster…she was one of my FAVES in her early years at Pitt, but spent her senior year injured and unable to compete. Glad to see her back in some capacity!
4:21 pm. After the first rotation, Denver leads 49.025 to Bowling Green’s 48.675.
4:20 pm. Ross, Denver, UB- Toe-on to Gienger, beautiful pak, double layout is piked at first but then she straightens it out and hops. 9.75

4:11 pm. Goniwiecha, BGSU, VT- FTY, a little deep, big step back. 9.525
4:10 pm. Kern, Denver, UB- Jaeger, bail, double layout with a step back. Good leadoff routine but nothing fancy. 9.75
4:09 pm. De Meno, BGSU, VT- Clean FTY, step back. Her teammates are waiting on the vault mat behind her like, WAY too close for comfort? What if she stumbled out? She would run you over and you’d be dead! 9.65
4:00 pm. Bowling Green vs Denver coming up in a couple of minutes!
3:06 pm. Georgia wins! 196.275 to Kentucky’s 195.025. Jay won the all-around with a 39.35 and vault with a 9.9, Rogers won bars with a 9.925 and beam with a 9.875, and Box won floor with a 9.9. Georgia seniors GETTING IT DONE.
3:04 pm. Dukes, Kentucky, FX- Here comes the superstaaaar! Double pike, great. Front full to front layout, good. Double tuck, controlled lunge. Great job. 9.875
3:02 pm. Box, Georgia, BB- Last up! Will she stay on and will Georgia not count a fall?! Actually I just remembered I already know she hits. No drama here. Good tuck jump full. Nails her bhs loso. Switch to straddle 3/4 with a big bobble. Full turn. Check on front aerial. 1.5 with a hop. 9.775
3:00 pm. Puryear, Kentucky, FX- Punch Rudi to loso is a HOT MESS lol. No nice way to say it. I’m like, LOLing but she handled it well. Just very little body awareness or control. Out-of-bounds though. Great double tuck. 9.6
2:58 pm. Babalis, Georgia, BB- Panic attack time! Front aerial, leg up and a wobble but she fights it. Switch to cat leap to full turn, love that. Very quick. Wobble on front toss…might cause her to miss a connection? Back tuck to loso, weird landing. Punch front layout full with a step. At least she stayed on? 9.6
2:57 pm. Phipps, Kentucky, FX- Good double tuck, Front full to front layout, steps forward and out-of-bounds. Rudi is super low and she crunches her ankle a little. 9.575
2:54 pm. Cherrey, Georgia, BB- She always scares me. Hits bhs loso, switch to split leap without great amplitude, full turn, she looks pissed off, hahaha. She’s probably like I better not fall. Cat leap to side aerial, and she falls. Welp. This is what, her 900th fall? I think it’s about time to throw her out of the lineup…just checked and she’s fallen or had a major mistake every week she’s been in the lineup. Four times this year. Hit 1.5. 9.125
2:53 pm. Stuart, Kentucky, FX- Double pike with a step back. Front full to front layout with a step. Excellent Rudi. 9.825
2:51 pm. Rogers, Georgia, BB- Dear LAWD do not fall. Front aerial to wolf jump. Full-twisting bhs is great. Bhs loso, solid. Full turn, slight check, bhs 1/4 to stag hold, doesn’t bother with the one-armed thing anymore but who cares? 1.5 with a hop. Great job. 9.875

2:44 pm. Vaculik, Georgia, BB- Solid bhs loso. Lovely front aerial to beat jump. Side somi. Little hop on the dismount. 9.775
2:41 pm. Aww, they just brought Shelby Hilton out and she’s with her parents and crying. She’s the one who got injured at Florida last year and when she went to get checked out, was diagnosed with a rare form of pediatric cancer.
2:39 pm. With one rotation to go, it’s Georgia at 147.5 and Kentucky at 146.125. But with Georgia on beam, that lead could definitely shrink.
2:33 pm. Jay, Georgia, FX- Half-in half-out loses a tiny bit of form at the end but good landing. Front double full to front layout, awesome. Love her choreo on the floor after her second pass. Whip half to front full, step forward. Great! 9.875
2:31 pm. Hyland, Kentucky, BB- Good jump series, cat leap to front aerial to bhs, nice. Full turn, cat leap to side aerial to tuck full with a step. 9.8
2:29 pm. Rogers, Georgia, FX- Double arabian, step forward and out-of-bounds. Great 1.5 to front layout. Double pike, a little low in her landing but doesn’t move her feet. 9.65
2:27 pm. Dukes, Kentucky, BB- Switch half, full turn, slight check on her bhs loso, front aerial to beat jump, switch to split 1/4, 1.5 with a slight hop. Great work. 9.8
2:25 pm. Box, Georgia, FX- Double pike, 1.5 to front layout, good landing on her double tuck. Definitely the best-performed routine of the night so far. 9.9
2:24 pm. Rechenmacher, Kentucky, BB- Sheep jump, front aerial, full turn, bhs loso with a step forward to save the landing. Cat leap to switch half, biiiig wobble but also a great fight! At this point her score’s basically gonna look like she had a fall though. Gainer pike with a step. 9.275
2:22 pm. Marino, Georgia, FX- Great double layout! 1.5 to front layout. Double pike, good finish. 9.825
2:19 pm. Rosa, Kentucky, BB- Jerky full turn with a wobble. Bhs layout, nice. Front aerial, hitch kick to switch side, a bhs loso series into a nice layout full. 9.675

2:15 pm. Roemmele, Kentucky, BB- Full turn, lovely. Bhs loso with her leg up. Barely has to fight, though, she has great control. Nice sheep jump. Side aerial with bent knees. Beat to straddle 3/4. Stuck 1.5 dismount. 9.725

2:02 pm. Whittle, Kentucky, UB- Lovely bail, giant full to Tkachev, slight knee bend, giant full to layout 1.5 dismount. 9.75
2:01 pm. Jay, Georgia, VT- Stuck Yurchenko 1.5! YAAAAS. Beautiful. Just slight leg separation on the pre-flight. 9.9
2:00 pm. Dukes, Kentucky, UB- Toe-on to Tkachev, nice. Pak caught a little close but doesn’t cause problems, double layout is a little piked in the hips and she has a little step but overall a great routine. 9.825
1:59 pm. Rogers, Georgia, VT- Yurchenko 1.5 with some leg separation but a good lift and a slight hop forward. 9.8
1:58 pm. Rechenmacher, Kentucky, UB- Giant half to Jaeger, nice. Bail, giant full to double tuck, sticks for a second and then cheats it out into her salute. 9.8
1:57 pm. Marino, Georgia, VT- A little over-rotated on her Yurchenko 1.5 and she has to do a little run forward. 9.7

1:53 pm. Coca, Kentucky, UB- Good first handstand, giant half to straddle Jaeger, whoops, and arches on a handstand and has to regroup with her swing. Bail, does the same thing with arching over and hops off this time. Good full-out dismount. 8.55
1:52 pm. Vaculik, Georgia, VT- FTY, legs split when she hits the board, not very big, but she had a good landing. Stuck! 9.65
1:51 pm. Stuart, Kentucky, UB- Short on first handstand, Tkachev is close to the bar but caught, clear hip to bail, full-twisting double layout with a step. 9.725
1:50 pm. Broussard, Georgia, VT- Big FTY, slight hop back and a little piked on the landing. 9.725
1:46 pm. Georgia leads 49.325 to Kentucky’s 48.5…what a bummer vault performance. I wish Beucler could clean up and be a stronger lead-off but it’s crazy that they have five freshmen in that lineup.
1:44 pm. Rogers, Georgia, UB- Stalder to Ricna to pak, GORGEOUS. I’m drooling. Toe-on to van Leeuwen, le sigh. This is quite possibly my favorite bars routine aside from Ebee Price. Double layout, just a hop. 9.925
1:43 pm. Davis, Kentucky, VT- Front handspring front pike, opens up too early and she’s way short on the landing. Sits it. 9.15
1:42 pm. Jay, Georgia, UB- Toe-on to bail, good. Shushunova is awesome, full-twisting double layout with a hop back. 9.825
1:41 pm. Dukes, Kentucky, UB- Dukes is a literal cinnamon bun. Yurchenko layout half arabian-style with a tiny hop forward. Great flair on the landing. 9.8
1:40 pm. Schick, Georgia, UB- Spoiler alert, she’s gonna fall. Good first handstand, Tkachev is big, piked Jaeger is close, love that she has two! Bail is good…OH NO hahaha her fall is on her pike circle!! What a place to fall. Her hands just slip and she drops to her butt. That was a good one. Stuck double layout. That would’ve been a huge score without the fall. 9.325
1:39 pm. Rosa, Kentucky, VT- FTY but it’s super short on the landing. Has to step forward. Also has a little leg separation. 9.55
1:38 pm. Snead, Georgia, UB- Toe-on, big Tkachev, clean handstands, especially on the bail, clean stuck double layout. Excellent! 9.875
1:37 pm. Stuart, Kentucky, VT- Another big FTY, this one stuck cold with her feet apart. 9.825
1:36 pm. Cherrey, Georgia, UB- Hits release, bail, clean stuck double layout. 9.85
1:35 pm. Hyland, Kentucky, VT- FTY, also a little short, but it’s a huge one and her form in the air is great. No hop or step but not a clean stick either. 9.725
1:34 pm. Vaculik, Georgia, UB- Toe-on, nice piked Jaeger, clean bail, decent full-in form with a solid landing. 9.85
1:33 pm. Beucler, Kentucky, VT- FTY, a little short and piked, and she’s leaning forward a little on the landing, but her feet are right in place. 9.6
1:32 pm. Wow, Georgia has won 78 of the 79 meets against Kentucky. That’s kind of cray. I looooove these Kentucky leos.
1:30 pm. I’m gonna do a Kentucky vs Georgia watch since I missed it last night. If you’re bored, this blog is THE PLACE TO BE.
1:14 pm. Okay, I might have to forget this one because the camera is aiming at nothing, there’s no announcement with names in the arena, no live scores to follow names…it would be an hour and a half of me being like “someone just did something and there was a lot of screaming.” A SHAME, I was really looking forward to this one!
1:03 pm. I forgot that not all schools have a 400 hour intro celebration. This is short and sweet. Still have the national anthem and touch warmups though.
12:59 pm. They still haven’t done intros at Brockport yet so there’s probably another 15 or so minutes before they get into routines. I’ll be back!
12:57 pm. Kicking today off with Brockport vs Cortland in about five minutes! I’m also going to try to get to the Michigan State quad and Ohio State vs Minnesota, and I’m definitely going to be following Oregon State vs Arizona State and the Metroplex meet!
FRIDAY JANUARY 29
11:56 pm. That includes gymnastics for tonight! All results from Friday’s meets can be found linked here. Can you believe it – Georgia didn’t count any falls on beam! I’ll probably watch that meet tomorrow at some point.

6:47 pm. Hey y’all! I’m going to kick tonight off with Florida vs Alabama and Nebraska vs Michigan at 7 EST, I’ll add Arkansas vs Auburn at 8 EST, and then I’m going to try to tackle both Utah State vs Southern Utah at 9 and Sacramento State vs UC Davis at 10. When all is said and done, I’m going to back track to watch Kentucky vs Georgia, which I’m afraid to watch live. See you soon!

Oh, yeah, hahaha. He tweets racist and misogynistic things about people all the time. It’s truly disheartening and kind of shocking that no higher ups at LSU have talked to him about cooling it down.

Just like we have the “NCAA stick,” we also have the “NCAA 10.” I’m a stickler, and like a 10 to be, you know, PERFECT. Not near perfect and by a big name, so…
Let’s review:
Alex McMurtrey, bars. Flexed feet on release.
Bridget Sloan, beam. Her leap/jump series was well under 180 degrees.
Ashley Gnat, vault. Crossed feet in the air. But I’m ok with the 10 for the only dty that should be 9.95/9.975.
Kennedy Baker, floor. Yes!!! I’m on board with her 10.
