9:10 pm. Looks like Isabela Onyshko won with a 57.55, Axelle Klinckaert with a 56.125, and Rose-Kaying Woo with a 55.225!
9:09 pm. “Ladies and gentlemen, in a few moments, we will have a blackout, so don’t panic.” Hahaha. Love. I’ll keep live blogging awards so you actually know who won.
9:06 pm. Hermans, FX- Hit double back to open, 1.5 to front full is nearly stuck. Good 2.5 to finish. Looks thrilled and now she’s selling the crap out of the rest of this choreo…fantastic finish.
9:02 pm. Croket, FX- YAS CHRISTINA AGUILERA RIFFING. Every routine needs to start or end with XTINA. I’ve decided. Double pike to start, little stumble. Same music as Carlotta’s second half of her routine. Great 1.5 to front full. UGH double tuck comes up a little short and she puts her hands down. 12.625
8:57 pm. Meyers, FX- How are ALL of their routines SO fun. Double pike is good, slight bounce back. double tuck, stumbled OOB. 2.5 a little short. But really, such a fun routine. 13.2
Thorsdottir, BB- Off on switch to side aerial, WHYYYYY GOD WHY. Side aerial to Korbut, a little off, but lands it. And such a great combo. Onodi, check before the jump. Switch to front aerial to scale down to a little choreo. Switch to full Y turn, nice. Slight wobble. Split to wolf jump. 2.5 dismount, punches off the beam weird, legs are a holy mess. Her face is like wtf did I just do. Oh, now she looks really upset. Her coach is like waving his arms around like “this is what you looked like, WHY.” 11.575
Vezina, VT- Hit, I think half on back pike.
8:57 pm. Peterman, VT- GREAT Yurchenko 1.5! 14.375
8:54 pm. Vandenhole, FX- Nails double pike to start. Good 2.5, double full. Fantastic.
Polderman, BB- Off on a leap. Otherwise she’s pretty wobbly. 11.65
V. Woo, VT- Good FTY.
Onyshko, VT- DTY, a little short but I think it was better than Elite Canada. Hard to tell from this angle.
8:48 pm. Mys, FX- More Belgium, more excellence. Front double full to punch front. I think her music is partly Nina Simone’s “Stop.” Good double tuck. Double pike, small bounce back. More great work.
8:44 pm. Klinckaert, FX- YAY she is keeping her AWESOME frog routine!!! Nails double layout. Great tucked full-in. She is selling the crap out of her choreo. Stuck dobule tuck! YAS AXELLE!!!! I’m literally crying. This needs to be in Rio YESTERDAY. Double pike with a hop forward. Crowd goes wild. 14.4!!!
8:42 pm. Miyakawa, VT- Her second vault is…cool, didn’t see it at all, thanks to this feed.
Olsen, BB- So far so good. Switch, slight wobble. Onodi with a big wobble and a fall. NOOOO. Nice illusion turn. Great double pike. 12.1
Copiak, UB- Hit toe full to pak, everything else including full-in small step. Looks very happy with this.
8:38 pm. Najita, VT- FTY with a step back.
R. Woo, UB- Wild giant full to Tkachev, pak, stalder half to toe on to inbar shoot to high. Double front is good. 13.425
Soloski, BB- Saw a good bhs loso. Hit dismount.
Derwael, FX- GORGEOUUUUUS PERFORMANCE. Super dramatic and fabulous. Double pike is good. Hit second pass. Ugh her low floor choreo is GREAT. 2.5, step to the side. She doesn’t look thrilled, maybe about some of the landings? But UGH, such a phenomenal routine.
Miyakawa, VT- Cheng! And it’s not bad! Well, you know. It’s got its issues. But not bad for what it is.
8:35 pm. Hiraiwa, VT- Clean FTY. 14.05
Waem, FX- Her music is amazing. Good double tuck. Performing her face off. Double full.
Semple, BB- Solid bhs loso. Double pike a bit crashed. 13.85
Rousseau, UB- Didn’t get skills down, but hit routine, dismount was a front layout, guessing that’s not fully ready… 12.5
8:34 pm. Start lists for the final rotation…
VT- Hiraiwa, Kajita, Miyakawa, V Woo, Onyshko, Peterman, Vezina
UB- Townsend, Rousseau, R Woo, Copiak
BB- Semple, Soloski, Olsen, Cyrenne, Polderman, Thorsdottir
FX- Waem, Derwael, Klinckaet, Mys, Vandenhole, Meyers, Deriks, Croket, Hermans
8:32 pm. Best Belgian beam was Derwael’s 14.45. Next was Waem’s 13.95. Not many scores in the 14s at all…just a couple of low 14 FTYs and then Bela’s 14.4 on floor.
8:31 pm. Time for the fourth rotation! Warm-ups now. I’ll try to post whatever scores I see.
8:29 pm. Hermans, BB- Nice double wolf turn. Switch to split leap, solid bhs loso, UGH, off on double spin. BELGIUMMMM WHY. Switch half. Front aerial, side aerial, 2.5 basically stuck.
8:27 pm. Peterman, FX- 2.5 to punch front tuck, good. I think she’s going to Ohio State soon? She has a very collegiate feel about her already, good performance ability. 1.5 to front full, little stumble. Stumbles double pike back and OOB.
8:25 pm. Vandenhole, BB- Punch front mount, big fight to save it, but she falls anyway. UGH. Front aerial, slight wobble. Solid bhs loso. Switch side, weirdly wobbly as she gets into position for her wolf turn which she finishes in like, a full on squat like she’s a catcher in baseball, lol. Oh boy. Side somi, wobble on jumps, double pike, chest down but hit. 12.725
8:23 pm. V. Woo, FX- Piked full-in, short, hop forward. Great stuck double tuck. Another good pass with the double pike. 2.5 with a stumble to finish.
8:21 pm. Deriks, BB- Good leaps, legs are weirdly bent on the wolf jump. Missed something due to freezing feed, front aerial, leg up wobble. Bhs loso, switch ring, double pike with a little bounce.
8:17 pm. Meyers, BB- Lovely mount sequence. Wolf 1.5, switch to split leap, her lines are gorgeous. Side somi, ughhh off on tour jete half. Ambitious leap. I think I’ve only seen van Gerner and maybe one other do it in the past year. Good bhs loso. Front aerial, side aerial, double pike with a step back. 13.025
Onyshko, FX- Whip whip through to double tuck, great. Hit middle pass. Double turn I think, to an illusion. Double pike to finish. More great work from her. 14.4
8:14 pm. Thorsdottir, UB- Toe-on to Maloney to bail to toe full to Ray, good. Jaeger, big full-out with a tiny bounce.
Croket, BB- Good bhs loso. Front tuck, aggressive. Front aerial to split jump, full Y turn, side somi, gainer pike dismount. 13.55
Vezina, FX- Memmel turn to full pirouette, good double pike. Switch ring. Double full rebounded up into a split jump which is a mess but she controls it.
8:11 pm. Couldn’t see Sae’s floor score fully but it was a 12.7 something.:(
8:09 pm. Klinckaert, BB- Wolf turn, front tuck, nails bhs layout, switch to split jump, switch half. Everything SO solid. Front aerial to wolf jump, side somi with a big wobble but also a big fight and she holds on, ring jump, great double pike. Aside from that side somi issue this was a fantastic routine. 13.725
8:05 pm. Waem, BB- Switch to back tuck, switch half, double pike with a step back. 13.95
Olsen, UB- Stalder half, Jaeger, wild on full on the low bar, toe shoot, hit dismount. Form is wild but that was a hit and she’s happy!
Miyakawa, FX- Missed first pass but it looked hit. I think she does a DLO full. Sat double front, double double is good, crashes double layout HARD on her face to finish. So two falls. UGH.
8:04 pm. Semple, UB- Bars cam was frozen for almost all of this. Only saw the full-in with a step.
8:01 pm. Kajita, FX- 2.5 to front full is clean. Now it’s frozen, naturally. Yeah, floor is like, totally gone. Again, this is a thing that costs money.
Mys, BB- Switch ring, Onodi to split jump to front aerial with a little stumble. Full turn. Great bhs bhs loso. Double pike, near-stuck. Super good work.
Townsend, VT- Yurchenko 1.5, a little short.
Derwael got a 14.45 I think on beam!
8:00 pm. I think Cyrenne like, went out of control on her bars dismount and basically flew almost off the podium. That was all I saw from her. Score is 12.925.
R. Woo, VT- Handspring front pike stumbled forward.
Soloski, UB- Big Ray, hitting the rest, toe on to toe shoot, some front giant work, double layout with a step.
7:57 pm. Hiraiwa, FX- Her weird Addams Family / Home Alone 2 routine LOL. Double tuck low and stumbled. Hit the rest. The Home Alone 2 music actually makes for good floor music but just thinking “this is from Home Alone 2” makes it weird.
Derwael, BB- Good so far. Side somi, bhs bhs loso, side aerial into a GORGEOUS Y scale. Gainer pike with a hop.
Rousseau, VT- Clean FTY, tiny bounce. Her form is immaculate.
7:56 pm. Rotation three start lists…
VT- Rousseau, R. Woo, Townsend, Copiak
UB- Cyrenne, Soloski, Semple, Olsen, Polderman, Thorsdottir
BB- Derwael, Mys, Waem, Klinckeart, Croket, Meyers, Deriks, Vandenhole, Hermans
FX- Hiraiwa, Kajita, Miyakawa, Vezina, Onyshko, V. Woo, Peterman
7:54 pm. Isabela got a 14.7 on beam! Deriks had the high bars score at 14.175 for Belgium. Most are in the 13s for clean but low difficult work. Nina had 13.05 with her fall.
7:52 pm. All right, going into rotation 3 now! When I see scores I’ll try to update.
7:49 pm. Hermans, UB-Toe on to toe full to Maloney all super clean, to bail to stalder to Ray, YAS!!! Jaeger, near-stuck full-in. Also very nice, especially that opening six part connection series!
V. Woo, BB- Stumble on her side aerial, check on her double turn. Switch leap, side somi, switch half, short, step. 2.5 with crossed ankles and a hop.
7:45 pm. Peterman, BB- Ooh, SMOOTH wolf 2.5! She is allowed to do this skill forever. Front aerial. Slight check on side somi. Bhs loso, little stumble. Double pike with a step. 13.7
Vandenhole, UB- Toe full to stalder to Chow, very nice. Extra swing before the pak, pretty sure she is supposed to connect that. Maloney, to bail to Ray. Straddle Jaeger, and a near-stuck double front. GOOD!
7:43 pm. Meyers, UB- Hop change to piked Endo (like Becky Downie does!) to toe on to Maloney, stalder full, Tkachev, toe on to bail to Ray, caught a little close. Full-in with a slight hop. Not bad!
7:42 pm. Vezina, BB- Hit flight series, wobbles on a full turn but basically turns it into an illusion turn and holds on, haha. Another wobble on a leap. Switch to sheep jump, good. Switch ring, 2.5 with a hop.
7:40 pm. Croket, UB- Toe-on to pirouette but loses form and comes off. Does toe-on to Maloney this time, to bail to toe shoot. Tkachev is good, double front is over-rotated and she falls forward, hands down. Oy.
7:39 pm. Polderman, VT- Tsuk tuck full, little step.
7:37 pm. Deriks, UB- Inbar to Komova II to pak, nice! Stalder to Chow, to stalder full, Tkachev, full-in. Excellent work! WOWSERS.
Onyshko, BB- Hit first flight series, the triple series. Also hits bhs tuck full, a little low. Leaps good, Y turn, double tuck with a step. Not the cleanest but still solid work.
Thorsdottir, VT- FTY, good.
7:31 pm. R. Woo, FX- Oh my God this feed is a DISASTER. Can’t see ANYTHING. Watching floor from the vault feed. Double arabian to start, good. Double tuck, a bit low. Missed some stuff in there because I couldn’t see it. $$$
7:28 pm. Rousseau, FX- Nice double arabian. 1.5 through to double tuck. Double pike, little stumble.
Aww Nina is crying, she looks so upset. Naturally the camera is zoomed in about as close to her face as humanly possible. You can’t track a bar routine but you can track a crying child.
7:24 pm. Derwael, UB- This feed is NOT freezing for this routine. I will SCREAM. Ok here we go. Stalder full to Chow half, way too short and she falls. NOOOOOO, BARS PRINCESS. Gets up again, Chow half, blind change to straddle Jaeger, Ricna, toe-on to pak, very clean. Van Leeuwen, big full-in, tiny bounce. Shame about the fall. Otherwise a great routine.
Hiraiwa, BB- Punch front. Onodi, front aerial, sheep jump. CONNECT ALL OF THAT LIL GIRL. Please. For me. Roundoff layout, fall. UGH. Double wolf turn, wobble at the end. 2.5 nearly sat, big step off the mat.
7:21 pm. Kajita, BB- Switch to back tuck, wobble. Lovely flight series. Side aerial is a little short. Idk what she was trying to do for her dismount. But she sat it. 2.5 maybe?
Olsen, VT- Second vault is a Khorkina, not bad. Yurchenko half-on 1.5 tuck off.
Waem, UB- Pak caught a little close, Maloney (leg sep) to bail to toe shoot, Tkachev, full-in, loses form a little
Copiak, FX- Tucked full-in, double pike.
Soloski, VT- FTY, good.
7:20 pm. Mys, UB- Toe full, blind change to front giant to Jaeger, bail to toe shoot, double layout with a small hop back.
7:19 pm. Olsen, VT- Big DTY, a little messy with the leg form at the end, bends knees and hops back on the landing.
7:17 pm. Semple, VT- Big clean FTY, tiny hop. 14.2
Miyakawa, BB- Bhs layout, landed in a squat, then she falls. Falls again on something else. Front aerial, wobble. Back pike. Hits leaps. Double tuck dismount. 11.325
Townsend, FX- Nice double arabian. Flew out of bounds on like, a 2.5 or something. Fall. Double tuck, step.
7:16 pm. Klinckaert, UB- Maloney, Tkachev, bail, full-in with a step.
7:14 pm. Start lists…
VT- Semple, Olsen, Soloski, Cyrenne, Thorsdottir, Polderman
UB- Klinckaert, Mys, Waem, Derwael, Deriks, Croket, Meyers, Vandenhole, Hermans
BB- Miyakawa, Kajita, Hiraiwa, Onyshko, Vezina, Peterman, V. Woo
FX- Townsend, Copiak,
7:12 pm. That’s rotation one! Warm-ups for rotation two now.
7:10 pm. V. Woo, UB- Shaposh to clear hip full (leg sep) to bail (leg sep) to toe shoot, clear hip half to Jaeger, nice. Clear hip to giant half, lovely double layout. HOW MANY CLEAR HIPS WERE IN THAT ROUTINE!? Four I think.
7:08 pm. Polderman, FX- Hit 1.5 to front full. Crashed double tuck. Lovely turns and leaps though, as is the case for the Dutch. 11.8
7:07 pm. Peterman, UB- Maloney to Gienger, nice! Her coach is blocking the camera fully, so glad there are zero camera people there to actually move the camera, huh? That’s why you pay for coverage! Stumbled back dismount.
7:04 pm. Onyshko, UB- Maloney to clear hip full to Tkachev, good. Hindorff, pak (leg sep), van Leeuwen (good), double front dismount with a step. I think she was supposed to connect the Hindorff to pak. 14.225
Meyers, VT- Clean FTY with a huge bounce back out of it. 13.825
7:03 pm. Vandenhole, VT- FTY with a slight step back. 13.725
7:00 pm. Croket, VT- Handspring front pike, little stumble back. 13.2
Vezina, UB- Fell, but I missed it.Obviously watching Eythora’s floor. Bhardwaj! Hit the rest.
Thorsdottir, FX- Double pike, scoot back. This routine is enchanting and haunting. Like, not gonna lie, I’m CRYING at how good it is. 1.5 to punch front to stag. Falls out of Memmel turn a bit. Double pirouette to finish. 12.95
6:58 pm. Warm-ups for the second group. Dutch tumbling looks easy enough. Polderman is TIIIIIINY. She’s a new senior with a fab bars set for this team. Polderman’s doing a Memmel to illusion turn on floor, nice. Onyshko looks good on bars.
6:56 pm. Townsend, BB- Switch to switch half, bobble. Punch front tuck, step. Side aerial. Super quick double spin with a little bobble. Roundoff layout, big wobble, puts hands down to try to save it, falls. Switch side, 2.5 with a little hop. 12.675
6:51 pm. Copiak, BB- Switch to back tuck. Side aerial. Split to wolf jumps are clean. Switch half with a tiny bobble. Side somi. Bhs loso. Gainer pike dismount. Not a super difficult routine but she does it well. 13.225
6:49 pm. Olsen, FX- Love this super dramatic piece for her. Hope she’s clean! Double double is a little short. 1.5 through to double tuck, tiny little movement. Memmel turn to pirouette to split leap to tour jete half, illusion turn down to the floor into some lovely choreo. Double full landed well, leg form could be better. Double pike a tiny bit short, little hop. 13.775
6:47 pm. Rousseau, BB- Front aerial, little stumble, maybe missed connection. Switch half, stumble. Side aerial to leap series. Bhs loso, little bobble. Side somi, finishes with double tuck, good landing. 13.125
Hiraiwa, UB- Toe-on to toe half to Jaeger, very clean pak, short toe half to Ray, double pike dismount, step. 12.675
6:45 pm. Soloski, FX- Nice double L turn. Double tuck, skidded, hands down.2.5 with a step.
6:44 pm. Klinckaert, VT- FTY, huge and very clean! 14.275
Kajita, UB- Inbar half to Jaeger, pak is super clean, arches over on an inber before her toe shoot but holds on. Hit dismount. 13.775
6:43 pm. Derwael, VT- Clean FTY, bounce back. 13.65
6:41 pm. Well, missed the first parts of routines because the video organizers decided to keep their start lists up over the videos, COOL!
Mys, VT- Hit routine
Miyakawa, UB- Finished with front double pike
R. Woo, BB- Caught from the middle but no falls. Bhs layout, double pike dismount. Good routine. 14.15

Will the gymternet have its own videos or is the whole thing under tampon club?

Eh, I was kind of over the frog routine when I realised it’s just two re-used Belgian Acro routines mashed together .. and the Acro athletes are better dancers. Did you watch the HWTS episode with Julie, Kaat & Ineke, the Acro team? The first part comes from their routine and then the rest is from a mixed pair I think. Like Belgian Gymnastics can only afford 2 routines for all their gymnasts, or what?

It’s not the routine itself, it’s how she performs it! Yes I did see that…it’s not Axelle’s fault that they recycle choreo. She’s a fantastic performer, sells the crap out of that routine, and deserves the notice for HER great work.
LikeLike
Oh yeah of course I’m not blaming her for what choreo she got, and I like the routine objectively, I just feel like the selling point is like ‘oooh it’s so weird and original!’ and when you realise it’s not original it’s like … eh. I can’t decided if it’s rude to her, because she doesn’t get her own routine, or rude to the acro teams because it’s like ‘Eh it’s only acro, no-one will have seen it’. But nothing against Axelle, she’s great.
LikeLike
Yeah, I don’t care about whether it’s original or not, but I care that Axelle performs it so well and makes crowds in any arena root for her when she does it.
