Oliwia Luka, the 14-year-old who trains at Iskra Zabrze, won this weekend’s Polish Junior Cup in Krakow, putting up a 44.765 in the all-around to win one of three gold medals.

Her other two golds came on bars and beam, where her bars performance was especially strong compared to the rest of the field, topping the second-place finisher by over a point with her 10.666 total. Her beam also showed lots of promise with an 11.033 total, and she earned a 10.866 on floor to win the bronze there, with vault the one event she wasn’t able to reach a medal on.

Barbara Sikora, another 14-year-old from Iskra Zabrze, won silver medals in the all-around and on every event with an overall consistent performance that earned a 43.598 total. She struggled with a fall and form errors on bars and she also had some errors on beam, but her floor performance was great in comparison, earning an 11.033 with only a few minor mistakes throughout, and on vault she was super clean, earning a 12.533.

In third with the all-around bronze was 13-year-old Iga Kowalczyk of Olsztyn, whose 41.865 in the all-around seems a bit low, but this was mostly due to super low difficulty on bars, where she also had a couple of falls. Otherwise, she did have a fall on beam as well, but her vault and floor were fantastic, and she shows a ton of promise on both events, winning the vault gold with a 12.766 and the floor gold with an 11.333, the latter of which was executed very nicely.

Even with the mistakes on bars and beam, she still won the bronze medals on both, showing just how weak this field was overall, but I loved watching this kid on her strong events and think she could be one to watch for the future.

The other competitors at this meet included Wiktoria Kucner of Olsztyn in fourth with a 39.333 (and she also won the vault bronze with a 12.3), Wiktoria Kania of Olsztyn in fifth with a 36.466, Aleksandra Tulacz of Wisla in sixth with a 35.898, Dorota Armatynska of Gdansk in seventh with a 35.266, Wiktoria Rebacz of Wisla in eighth with a 32.632, Wiktoria Maciejowska or Korona Krakow in ninth with a 31.133, Marcelina Wojcik of Korona Krakow in tenth with a 28.264, and Patrycja Jugowiec of Wisla in 11th with a 27.899; Julie Mikulska of Iskra Zabrze also competed on two events.
