I miss the athletes wearing flag inspired leotards. That being said, there were a lot of gorgeous leotards out there this time around.
While there was a great deal to be sad/disappointed about in terms of injuries, there was a lot to be excited about too.
And having two AA medalists in braces is just adorable. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad more gymnasts are able to stay around and compete as they are older, but Hurd and Eremina are so freaking adorable and both come across as genuinely friendly individuals.

I am glad gymnast’s teeth are being looked after . Besides being a presentation sport , dental appearance of gymnasts often suggest bulimia , interrupted growth , lack of calcium & even malnourished childhood .
In fact the FIG should start focusing on dental health for young gymnasts wiith a clinic at all events where help can help eg flouride application , nutrition advice & maybe even vouchers for oryhodontics.
Let’s give back .

I totally agree with you about the Leos, I keep on comparing them to 2016, and it always makes me sad! But these were really pretty, just not patriotic!

Some are. Belgium’s for instance and Ukraine’s. I guess I just can’t get over neon, pink, and purple. At least the US didn’t wear any pink! It always surprises me how infrequently Italy uses green, but I think I miss the flag inspired leotards from Romania most of all.

Brazil, France and Portugal also had flag colors.

I love how in the top group everyone’s face on the stage is like “this is business” then you have ioana who is like “what the fuck am I doing here”
