Brockport 184.450, Cortland 183.800 [Results]
The host team started off a little slow and counted a number of rough routines on bars, including one score in the 7 range, but by the time they got to the end, this thriving D3 program had an epic floor rotation, coming back from a fall in the leadoff spot to score a huge 48.450, including a pair of 9.825s from anchors Candis Kowalik and Brittany Vasile. Candis also hit vault, helping the team there alongside Stephanie Mager, who was also a top contributor on floor, while bars saw a solid routine from Bridgette Schaal, who had the difficult task of hitting after three misses.
Cortland also bounced back on floor after a weak start on bars and beam, with anchor Bailey Gildemeyer scoring a 9.675 to finish the rotation before also wrapping up beam with a 9.725, the best of the meet. Rachel Filipski, who has led Cortland’s vault rotation for several years now and typically tops the D3 rankings on the event, continues to be a boss there, scoring a 9.7, and Sidney McConnell boosted the bars total with a 9.625, though the team was forced to count two 8.4s this week.

Winona State 182.350, Stout 180.725 [Results]
Both teams were equally great on vault and floor this week, but the host team Winona State outperformed visiting Stout on bars and beam to win the meet by over a point and a half. Winona State had to count a few low scores on the weaker events, but the always awesome Eboni Jackson, last year’s D3 national floor champion, had the team’s best scores on both while also topping vault with a 9.5 and floor with a 9.525. Other standouts this week included Anna Hiller on bars and beam and Alana Currin on vault and floor.
Thanks to excellent anchor performances from Mikala Bugge on vault and floor, Stout nearly matched Winona State on both. Brooke Terry also had a stellar meet, competing every event but bars and contributing some of the team’s best scores, while Sierra Beaver showed clean routines on all four events and MacKenzie Nicholson anchored bars with a lovely set.
