    • I think this is just for seniors :/ but she had a 53.000 in the verification camp in texas where she was also named the alternate for the PanAms team. That should also qualify her to nationals, right?

      • Yes, it should. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s one of the reasons she only did three events in the first place. I bet this was a practice meet for her.

  1. I have so many questions for this 😉

So why did some GAGE girls travel across the country to “qualify” when they have already qualified? (e.g Eaker and Wong who are on the national team) Also YAY for Leanne Wong, she was such an underdog and now she’s the strongest junior by far! (also beating senior’s scores)

Also, why did Emma Kelley participate? I mean her scores show that she’s clearly not ready for elite and probably won’t make it anyway.

    • Presumably each of those girls competed for the experience. For the GAGE girls, to get competition experience prior to Classics/Nationals. For Emma Kelley, probably to get experience competing the elite format routines/practice for future qualifiers. I think it is pretty common to come for experience. There are other girls on this list who have already qualified.

      • Thanks for your insight! I think with Kelley I am just confused, too. She is a senior already so she really doesn‘t have many shots at elite anymore.
