Artur Dalaloyan and Nikita Nagornyy

In 2019, we saw 4,045 all-around performances, as well as 6,651 floor scores, 6,683 pommels scores, 6,424 rings scores, 6,249 vault scores, 6,505 p-bars scores, and 6,427 high bar scores in addition to 1,434 two-vault attempts that get averaged for an event final (or qualification into a final).

Below, find a list of the top all-around and event scores thus far, as well as the top D scores for each event. An asterisk (*) next to the name denotes a junior competitor, and I’ve removed bonus from all domestic meets to keep things consistent. As a note, we only include juniors in the two-vault averages or D-score combos if they’re competing vaults from two different families, and if a competition uses bonuses but their score sheets don’t differentiate those bonuses from the totals, we don’t include those scores in our database.

  1. My favourite thing here is Joe Fraser not even making the top 10 P-bar scores all year but casually being the world champion because why not? (OK he is in he highest difficulty list but this is still highly entertaining)

      • I mean, yes, in a way I agree with that! But it is still a very cool stat that his scores were not top ten at any point in the year, yet he was the one to hit when it counted. As Lauren said, that’s why this sport is so interesting.

        • Yes! You don’t have to consistently be the best at an event if you’re the best on that one particular day. It’s not about luck, it’s about peaking when you need to peak so you can take advantage of others who make mistakes when it counts.

    • I know. 😦 And now the world cups are looking like they’re going to be super difficult with some big competition. The only gymnastics routine I’ve ever put on my Instagram was Epke’s Euros high bar routine…I was sitting so close and something in me was like “FILM THIS ROUTINE” and I’m so glad I did because it was honestly one of the best competitive pieces of gymnastics I’ve ever seen in my life. Still beyond devastated that he couldn’t replicate that at worlds.
