The Gymternet 
Interesting. I had assumed that Alisson Lapp leaving Long Island’s gymnastics team meant that she was retiring from gymnastics. But she turned up here. Is she making a run back at elite or just competing for the money here/becoming professional?

I believe she’s done with elite based on what I’ve seen her say, but is just competing here to help out her club…a lot of the gymnasts who do this league are older athletes who have moved on and don’t train as seriously but have downgraded and do this just for fun and as a way to stay involved in the sport. There was one team I believe last year that had a few athletes close to 30 who were gymnasts-turned-coaches but enjoyed competing still so it’s kind of like, why not? Camille Bahl is another one still competing for her club but with zero focus on elite.
