19. Kayla DiCello 26.250
20. Marissa Neal 12.250
21. Madray Johnson 11.850

Lew and Caylor will qualify as all-arounders, while Disidore got her three-event score on VT, UB, and BB.

12:06 pm. Malea Milton BB: Hit the mount and the triple flight series, and then a jump series to back handspring. Good switch half. Front aerial. A check on a jump after that. Full turn and side somi both went well. Side aerial. Double tuck, chest down but gets the landing. 13.300 (5.6 D)

Chloe Cho FX: Stuck the tucked full-in, nice! 1.5 to front full, step forward. Hops around a double L turn. 2.5, nice in the air but kind of runs forward out of it.

12:05 pm. I think only one gymnast has earned the AA score for nationals so far…

12:02 pm. Avery Moll FX: Double pike, hop back. 1.5 to front layout. Double tuck, hop back OOB. 12.250 (4.8 D)

12:00 pm. Michelle Pineda UB: Nice handstand beofre the toe half to piked Jaeger, toe full to Pak, toe shoot, double pike dismount, good. 12.900 (4.5 D)

Amelia Disidore BB: Layout stepout mount, hit the flight series and jumps, a little tick tock into a layout stepout, love that. Switch leap to switch half, a little short, to Korbut, full wolf turn, side somi, grabs her knees but holds on, switch side, I think she’s over time…double pike dismount, a little deep. 13.000 (5.6 D)

11:58 am. Brooke Pierson FX: Double tuck, leg separation and a bounce back, OOB. 1.5 to front full, legs were a bit wild in the 1.5. Switch to tour jeté half. 2.5, leg form again, lands with a step. 11.900 (5.0 D)

11:57 am. Alicia Zhou UB: Stalder full, Maloney to Pak, clean on both, maybe a bit of a stall when she catches the Pak though and she can’t continue without a kip cast, van Leeuwen, not bad, blind change to straddle Jaeger, a bit too low and far, and she falls. Full-in dismount, good landing. 10.850 (4.0 D)

11:56 am. Annalisa Milton BB: Had a punch front mount and also hit the bhs loso series. Side somi, had to grab the back of her knees but stays on. Just a layout dismount. 11.750 (4.6 D)

11:54 am. Dulcy Caylor FX: Full-in to start, not bad. Double pike, nice toe point, a little unsure of the landing and has to take a hop. Had a nice Memmel! Hit the last two passes IIRC, I wasn’t looking closely though. Pretty good day for her minus the bars fall! 12.200 (5.3 D)

Avery King UB: Toe-on to straddle Tkachev to Pak, Ray to the high bar, blind full, high double tuck, stuck. Nice! 11.700 (3.7 D)

Kayla DiCello isn’t doing bars.

11:52 am. Paloma Mintcheva VT: Yurchenko full, a little short with a step. 12.400 (4.2 D)

Norah Christian VT: Yurchenko full, lots of power, big lunge back. I think she was doing a double last year IIRC. 12.950 (4.2 D)

No vault for Madray Johnson, Ella Murphy, or Leigh Anne Elliott. Johnson most likely planned, but I think Murphy and Elliott have struggled a bit today and aren’t anywhere near their AA scores to qualify for nationals so I can see not wanting to push them.

11:50 am. Kelise Woolford FX: A little stumble out of the Memmel turn. Double tuck, a bit low in the set but gets it around no problem, just a tiny hop forward. I think a front tuck through to double full? Stumbles through an L turn to pirouette sequence. Ugh, sits the 2.5 at the end. 10.800 (4.4 D)

Eveylynne Lowe BB: Switch ring, back leg is iffy. Bhs bhs layout, a little piked down. Switch leap to switch side, a little short of 180. Front aerial to jumps. Think she had a double full dismount. 12.850 (5.3 D)

Myli Lew UB: Saw her hit everything at the beginning, caught a Gienger, toe half to piked Jaeger was nice, double layout with a step back, nice work! 14.250 (5.7 D)

11:48 am. Rotation 3 Standings

1. Dulcy Caylor 38.650
2. Alicia Zhou 38.450
3. Kelise Woolford 38.350
4. Avery Moll 38.150
5. Michelle Pineda 37.650
6. Brooke Pierson 37.550
7. Myli Lew 37.300
8. Avery King 37.150

11:44 am. Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos BB: Punch front pike mount, nice. Bhs loso loso is solid as hell. Switch to switch half, great. Front aerial to split jump to back handspring. Oh, she’s ON. Double wolf turn, slightly iffy arms but otherwise strong leg positions. Side aerial, leg up slightly but easy for her to control. Sissone to pike jump, love it. Double pike dismount, chest is a bit forward and she has to step, but this was mostly excellent. 14.100 (5.9, 8.200)

11:40 am. Avery Moll BB: Bhs loso loso, a bit of a stumble at the end but fixes it. Full turn, good. Nice switch side. Front aerial, a little late in pulling her chest up, slight wobble. Side aerial. Double tuck, chest down. 12.500 (5.0 D)

11:38 am. Marissa Neal UB: Maloney to Bhardway, really crooked with leg separation, had a weird handstand half turn kinda thing that was messy in handstand, van Leeuwen, blind change to straddle Jaeger, nice height, short handstand before the toe full, some body line form, double tuck was REALLY clean with an excellent landing. 12.250 (5.0 D)

11:35 am. Brooke Pierson BB: Came off early in the routine, wolf turn I think? Bhs loso loso, some knee bends throughout but solid series. Front aerial to split jump. Good side somi. Switch leap, sissone to wolf jump, a bit short on the latter. I think just a layout full dismount? May have been a double. 11.350 (4.7 D)

Norah Christian FX: Double double, nice! Arabian double front, could be a little more upright on the landing. Hop L turn to switch side half I think? Maybe supposed to be a switch full. Deep full-in landing but not that bad. Double tuck with a lunge back. 12.500 (5.1 D)

11:34 am. Amelia Disidore UB: Stalder half to straddle Jaeger, Church to Pak, good! Toe-on to van Leeuwen, legs were wild but catches. Short handstand before the toe full, a bit rushed, and a double layout dismount, REALLY slow in the second rotation, lands it a bit deep. 11.950 (4.5 D)

11:31 am. Leigh Anne Elliott FX: Hit the first two passes but I didn’t see details. Double tuck with a slight hop back at the end. 11.700 (5.0 D)

11:30 am. Alicia Zhou VT: I missed this. 13.250 (4.2 D)

Annalisa Milton UB: Toe full to Maloney, a bit crooked on the former, Ricna, iffy coming out of handstands with her hips not being locked, van Leeuwen, legs were bent and she didn’t get the direction around at all. Fall. Straddle Jaeger ccaught with bent legs. Double layout, good. 11.500 (5.3 D)

Dulcy Caylor BB: Nailed the triple flight series. Hit everything after that but I wasn’t typing, full Y turn, kind of got her leg up for like a split second but I don’t know if it’s creditable. Nice jump series. Hit the dismount. 12.650 (5.3 D)

11:28 am. Avery King VT: Solid enough Yurchenko full. 12.800 (4.2 D)

Kayla DiCello VT: Yurchenko full, great power, small hop. 13.250 (4.2 D)

11:26 am. Paloma Mintcheva FX: Tucked full-in, some form in the air, gets the landing. Great work on her turns and leaps at the beginning. OOB on the 1.5 to front full. Hit the last pass. 12.500 (4.9 D)

Kelise Woolford BB: I missed the beginning but no falls. Good side somi. 2.5 dismount ends up short and has a stumble back, really thought she was gonna sit it but nice save! 13.050 (5.4 D)

Myli Lew VT: Yurchenko full, not bad, not a ton of power. 12.850 (4.2 D)

Eveylynn Lowe UB: Toe full, some ankle form, to Gienger, leg separation. Came off on something after that but I didn’t see what. Toe-on, full-in with a hop back. 11.450 (4.3 D)

11:24 am. Malea Milton UB: Van Leeuwen, some leg form. Toe full, a bit late with some leg form, straddle Jaeger was maybe a little low, Ray, nice, Pak, toe shoot, short handstand before the giants to a double layout, step. 12.200 (5.1 D)

Michelle Pineda VT: Yurchenko full, not bad. 12.850 (4.2)

11:22 am. Ella Murphy FX: Tucked full-in, hands down. Really hard crash to her back on her second pass. Oof. She has some of the greatest technique but is always on the struggle bus sadly. Switch ring to switch half. Sits the 2.5 at the end. This was devastating tbh. I’m so sad for her. 9.600 (4.7 D)

Chloe Cho BB: Bhs loso, big wobble and a fall. Switch half not near 180, and slow to connect to the back tuck. Side somi. Think I saw her hit the dismount. 11.400 (4.7 D)

11:20 am. Rotation 2 Standings

1. Brooke Pierson 26.200
2. Eveylynn Lowe 25.650
– Avery Moll 25.650
4. Kelise Woolford 25.300
5. Alicia Zhou 25.200
6. Amelia Disidore 25.000
7. Dulcy Caylor 24.800
– Michelle Pineda 24.800
– Ella Murphy 24.800

11:17 am. Leigh Anne Elliott BB: Hit the wolf turn and then had a wobble on the bhs loso. Switch to switch half, a bit short in the leap. Double full, slightly short, step forward. 12.250 (5.1 D)

Avery Moll UB: Saw her do a Gienger, blind full, and full-in dismount, a couple of steps there. 12.450 (5.4 D)

11:16 am. Looks like Kayla DiCello isn’t doing floor? Probably saving AA for the U.S. Classic.

11:14 am. Brooke Pierson UB: Toe full to Maloney to Pak, clean. Van Leeuwen, legs could be tighter. Stalder half to straddle Jaeger, legs could be a little cleaner. Double tuck dismount, stuck. 13.100 (5.0 D)

11:12 am. Avery King FX: I missed the beginning, jumped in at the double pike, chest down but solid in her feet. Switch ring to tour jeté half, a little short. 12.550 (5.0 D)

11:10 am. Paloma Mintcheva BB: Wolf turn, nice switch leap to sissone, side aerial to layout stepout, some bent knees and a little off her line, ends up falling. Also directionally off on the Onodi and falls there. Switch ring but the back leg won’t be credited. Side somi, and she’s off again. Well, at least htis meet basically doesn’t matter for her, it’s just practice for worlds. Double full dismount. 10.150 (4.8 D)

Dulcy Caylor UB: Toe full, I missed something after that, saw a Pak and van Leeuwen, stalder, blind change to straddle Jaeger, fall. Hit the dismount. 11.100 (4.1 D)

11:07 am. Myli Lew FX: Double pike was really nice! Layout at the end. Her leaps were lovely. 11.800 (4.5 D)

Kelise Woolford UB: Caught it from the toe full to Maloney to Pak, nice! Van Leeuwen, a little crooked but gets It around. Blind change to MASSIVE straddle Jaeger, but then her legs fall apart in the subsequent handstand and she has to regroup. Stalder to full-in. Amazing recovery after that leg situation. 13.100 (5.4 D)

11:05 am. Chloe Cho UB: I think she came off on the straddle Jaeger. Hit the rest from what I saw, double layout went a little wild in the leg form. 11.450 (4.2 d)

Amelia Disidore VT: Really solid Yurchenko double! 14.250 (5.0 D)

Ella Murphy BB: I missed all of this somehow, saw the double tuck dismount. 12.850 (5.2 D)

No beam for Madray Johnson…she’s already qualified to nationals so not a biggie.

11:04 am. Michelle Pineda FX: 2.5 to front pike, nice. Memmel turn. 1.5 to front full. Double pike was really pretty!

Annalisa Milton VT: Tons of power on her Yurchenko 1.5! Got lots of distance, just a little rushed in the air and on the landing. 13.250 (4.6 D)

11:00 am. Alicia Zhou FX: I missed the first pass I think…maybe two. Double tuck at the end was a bit low. 12.550 (4.9 D)

Norah Christian BB: Punch front mount, nice. Full turn. Hit a triple flight series. Going well so far! Switch to switch half, a little short on the latter. 11.700 (4.8 D)

Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos UB: Layout Tkachev, Pak, Maloney to stalder half to Ezhova, a little bent in her arms on the stalder half, van Leeuwen back to the high bar, full-twisting double layout, a bit piked down but landed well. 14.250 (6.1 D)

Malea Milton VT: Yurchenko 1.5, a bit rushed in the air and she sadly sat it. 11.850 (4.6 D)

Eveylynn Lowe VT: Yurchenko 1.5, pushes her chest forward on the landing and has to bend her legs a bit, but gets it with a hop forward. 13.350 (4.6 D)

10:56 am. Rotation 1 Standings

1. Dulcy Caylor 13.700
2. Avery Moll 13.200
3. Brooke Pierson 13.100
4. Chloe Cho 13.000
– Kayla DiCello 13.000
6. Alicia Zhou 12.650
– Myli Lew 12.650
8. Eveylynn Lowe 12.300

10:53 am. Avery King BB: Double wolf turn, got really wobbly but she held on. Side aerial. Really calm on her bhs loso. Aerial to jump series was also really smooth. Switch leap to sissone, she had a really nice position on both. Front layout full dismount with a step. 11.800 (4.5 D)

10:51 am. Annalisa Milton FX: Hit her first couple of passes. Really deep landing on the double tuck, stumble there. Leg form in the air could also be tighter. Just a layout for her last pass.

Here are some key scores from routines I missed…

Dulcy Caylor VT: 13.700 (5.0 D)

Madray Johnson UB: 11.850 (4.9 D)

Kayla DiCello BB: 13.000 (5.2 D)

Alicia Zhou BB: 12.650 (5.1 D)

Myli Lew BB: 12.650 (5.5 D)

No Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos on vault, Paloma Mintcheva on bars, or Marissa Neal on floor in the first rotation.

10:48 am. Well, last night was supposed to start at 7:45 pm but the competition didn’t actually begin until 8:15 pm, and today I opened the feed at 10:46 am and the first rotation was basically over? So we’re starting a bit late today I GUESS!

  1. So Melanie’s scoring potential is probably close to 56 points right now with her usual DTY and a FX that is hard to predict for her at this stage (she’ll probably perform to her 2022 worlds music, judging by her training sessions at the 2023 French Nationals mid june).
She connected the Nabieva to Pak mid-june (D 6.3).
I love her new BB, very stylish. World EF contender there.

    • Her beam looks nearly better than ever – that should be a big help for her at worlds if she can keep it that clean and consistent. I think if all goes according to plan she might be able to make the AA podium work out…fingers crossed!
