10:21 am. Final Results

1. Italy 26.816
2. Germany 26.582
3. France 25.915
4. Switzerland 25.816

10:18 am. Italy gets the much-deserved gold, that Brugnami floor routine was everything! They score a 26.816, a little over two tenths ahead of Germany with a 26.582.

Öztürk’s high bar routine was also everything, but I’m going to guess not as difficult as Brugnami’s floor.

10:15 am. Helen Kevric GER VT: Yurchenko double full, maybe rushed it a bit, it’s pretty nice in the air but the landing isn’t quite there, big hop. 13.866

The full is better!

SHOW THE SCORES YOU COWARDS!

10:13 am. Mert Öztürk GER HB: Okay, he’s going on high bar, not floor. Zou Li Min, Tkachev, stalder, blind change to Tak, Endo, full-twisting DLO is stuck!

10:11 am. Sara Caputo ITA VT: Yurchenko double full, knee form isn’t there and she’s a little short with a hop back. Her earlier vault was stronger. 13.600 (5.0, 8.600)

Second vault is a Yurchenko full, much cleaner, small hop back.

10:09 am. Tommaso Brugnami ITA FX: Strong double double. Randi is strong. 2.5 to front layout. Double full. Triple full to finish. 13.533 (4.8, 8.733)

10:07 am. Getting ready for the touch for the gold medal match now. Kevric and Caputo are both going on vault. Brugnami on floor. And I can’t see Öztürk. Maybe floor as well?

10:06 am. Switzerland totals a 25.816, less than a tenth behind France with a 25.915! France wins the bronze by just under a tenth!

10:03 am. Carlo Riesco SUI FX: Shuffle back on the full-in. Little hop on the front double full. 2.5 to front tuck, tiny bounce. Layout down the side. Stuck front layout full. Double full to finish, little shuffle. 13.033

10:01 am. Kea Walser SUI VT: First vault is a Yurchenko full, maybe slightly loose form in the air, and a hop back with a little shuffle. 12.933 (4.2, 8.733)

Second vault is a Yurchenko layout, also with a hop back. 12.533 (3.6, 8.933)

12.783 average, less than half a tenth

10:00 am. Nael Sakouhi FRA PB: Holds the first couple of handstands FOREVER! Basket to pike sit, presses to handstand, nice and clean. Arched out of a one-arm pirouette and then was a bit short on a hop half turn, but he stuck the heck out of the double back! 13.166 (4.1, 9.066)

9:58 am. Lilou Viallat FRA VT: First vault is the Yurchenko full, clean in the air, almost right down the middle, just takes a bit of a lunge back. 13.066 (4.2, 8.866)

Second vault is a Yurchenko layout, goes a little crooked and also has a big lunge back. 12.433 (3.6, 8.833)

12.749 average

9:54 am. Warmups are going to be underway shortly. The arena is playing “Eye of the Tiger” which must make Walser very excited.

9:51 am. Joining Germany in the gold final will be Italy, surprise surprise, with a 26.399, while Switzerland earns a 23.800 to move on to the bronze final along with France.

In the final, athletes can choose the apparatus they want to compete. The only difference is that if they choose vault, they have to do two.

Looks like both Viallat and Walser are going on vault in the bronze finals, one of the guys is over at p-bars, I think that’s Sakouhi…I don’t see Riesco. Floor for him I think?

9:48 am. Tommaso Brugnami ITA FX: Double double, small hop. Rudi, small hop. 2.5 to front layout was really clean. Double full down the side, clean. Triple full to finish. Oh, that was great. 13.466 (4.8, 8.666)

9:45 am. Sara Caputo ITA FX: Whip to triple full, then a full-in, some leg form but a solid landing. Switch ring to…a really rushed straddle half ish? I don’t know if that was meant to be a Popa. Her music is like, very fast and I feel like I blame that for her rushing lol. Front tuck through to double tuck. Double L turn into a spin. Double pike, really deep landing but saves it from putting her knees down. 12.933 (5.4, 7.533)

9:43 am. Carlo Riesco SUI HB: Zou Li Min! Endo, turns around for giants to a piked Tkachev, beautiful straddle Tkachev, stalder, one-arm giant, double double layout, small hop. 12.600 (4.1, 8.500)

9:42 am. Kea Walser SUI BB: Hit the candle mount, then a bhs loso, floaty! Front aerial is strong. Switch leap to wolf jump, almost missed her feet there but had a good fight to stay in control. Wolf turn, small adjustment. Side aerial, nooooo, she isn’t quite rotated the way she needs to be and just comes right off. BUMMER. I mean, Italy was going to be hard to beat anyway but I’m sad! Cross split jump. Just a layout dismount. 11.200

9:40 am. Germany wins the first semifinal with a 26.300 to make it into the gold final, while France gets a 25.466 and will move on to the bronze final.

Touch warmups for the second semifinal now!

9:37 am. Mert Öztürk GER PB: Wasn’t typing during this but it was a hit routine, pretty well done with a strong double tuck.

9:35 am. Helen Kevric GER BB: Gets the mount and switch half done nicely. Super solid bhs bhs loso. Switch leap to sissone. Double wolf turn. Side somi, tiniest bobbles. Side aerial, little correction with her hips. 2.5 dismount with a small hop forward. 13.200 (5.1, 8.100)

9:34 am. Nael Sakouhi FRA HB: Tak, lots of front giants, turns around for regular giants, German giants, ALL the giants! Gets stuck at the top of the bar as he wraps up the Germans, but gets out of the jam, and sticks the full-twisting double layout! Maybe a little high and close to the bar but the landing was great.

9:33 am. Lilou Viallat FRA BB: Onodi, wobble, leg up, good fight to bring it back. Solid and clean bhs loso. Switch leap to sissone, very strong. Double wolf turn. Fornt layout full dismount. Amazing job! 12.733 (4.5, 8.233)

9:32 am. France will go up first, and then Germany! They go one at a time for semis and finals.

9:27 am. Going to be a little break before the semi, a couple minutes maybe!

9:25 am. For the semifinal, it’s going to be Germany and France in one bracket, and then Italy and Switzerland in the other.

9:24 am. Round 2 Standings

1. Germany 51.898 Q

13. Netherlands 47.365
14. Türkiye 45.399
15. Poland 44.832
16. Hungary 43.633

9:20 am. Lilou Viallat FRA FX: Going from big band to DRAMA. High clean double tuck with a tiny bounce. Front layout front tuck, good landing. Switch ring to switch half, beautiful height and extension. Double full, great landing. 12.533

9:16 am. Diana Lobok UKR FX: Oh, she has big band music so she is immediately my favorite person on earth. 2.5 to front tuck, great. Hit the double back. Switch leap to split ring leap. She just grapevined! Y turn to illusion. Strong double full at the end. This was so fun.

9:14 am. Kea Walser SUI FX: “Eye of the Tiger!!!!” I’m ready to fight. Let’s goooo! Double tuck was clean. Switch full I think, I didn’t see the entry but it just had a slight bobble. Double full, some crossed legs. Front layout to front tuck, hop there. Good work!

9:12 am. Leire Escauriaza ESP FX: Caught it from the double tuck, a little short with a step. Oh, that’s all we get.

Sara Caputo ITA BB: We jumped into this late, saw her connect a bunch of leaps and jumps, and then she hit a HUGE double pike, wow.

9:10 am. Kyano Schepers BEL HB: Nice Yamawaki! also good height on the Tkachev. Blind change to front giant to Tak half, blind change again for more front giants, Tak, double double layout with a couple of hops back, well he REALLY went for the difficulty! That was a lot for this field.

9:08 am. Gabriela Vanoaga ROU BB: Hit the flight series really well, and then a nice leap series to Korbut. Cross straight jump full had a bobble. Front aerial, full turn with a big break at the hips. GREAT double full, clean and landed like a dart.

Vanesa Masova CZE FX: High clean double tuck. Her second pass went out of frame but I think it was a 2.5? Looked like she got it. Front layout full, hit.

9:07 am. Back to another touch I believe. Or just a lull maybe. A lull I think.

9:04 am. Valentina Frint AUT BB: Bhs loso, not bad! Slight knee bend but not super severe at all. Switch, low back leg, with a bobble into the split jump to wolf jump, bobble at the end as well. Side aerial with a big break at the hips, but she saves it. Wobbled on a front aerial as well, I believe, and on the full turn. Front layout dismount was a bit arched but landed well.

9:02 am. I think I heard the announcer say Helen Kevric only got like a 13.2 on vault??? Elevien isn’t updating but I’m scared, I hope she just downgraded to a full and didn’t implode on a double…

Okay, video is up on Elevien, she did a massive Yurchenko full, 13.233 (4.2, 9.033)

9:00 am. Anna Knight HUN BB: Did a front aerial right into her leap series, that was great. Unfortunately off at the end of her bhs bhs loso. Side aerial is crooked and she falls there as well. Gets the wolf turn around with a lot of bobbling. Stuck the layout full dismount.

8:59 am. Nael Sakouhi FRA FX: Saw the first two passes from a bird’s eye view but now the camera’s on him, yay. Double full was really nice, tiny foot movement. Tried to whip a triple around at the end but it’s a bit wild. Stands it up at least!

Kasper Berntsen NOR HB: Caught a Tkachev, blind change to front giant to Endo, turns around for the giants into the dismount, a double layout I think? We cut away, but he landed it.

8:58 am. I’m making peace with the fact that they’re just never gonna show anyone on vault.

8:56 am. Ivan Rudyi UKR FX: Clean double tuck, little shuffle back. Triple full, nice! Could pull up his chest a bit more. 2.5 with a tiny shuffle but a better chest position on the landing. Rudi, little shuffle again. Hit the last pass.

Maria Drobniak POL BB: Only saw the dismount, a strong tucked 1.5.

8:54 am. Little touch for the next rotation for round two!

8:53 am. Alex Niscoveanu GBR PB: Nice press to handstand at the start. Short out of the next two pirouettes, though. Like, 45 degrees short on both. Cleans up and slows down before the dismount. Double tuck with a step back.

8:50 am. David Puicea ROU FX: Piked double front, leans too far forward on the landing and takes a big step. Kinda does the same on the double front tuck. Sits the 2.5 in the third pass. Ugh. 1.5 to barani was nice. Layout full was a bit rough after that though. I think he maybe balked what he may have intended for the last pass?

8:49 am. I feel like they consistently have had all four routines going at the same time in this rotation, and then just nothing for minutes at a time while we await scores.

8:47 am. Carlo Riesco SUI FX: Stuck his first pass! Front double full, also a nice landing, just a little shuffle. Ugh, we cut away, I was so excited to see this!

Zala Zambori HUN PB: Had a mishap right at the start where a handstand went wild. Calmed down after that and did some nice work. Clean double tuck with a tiny hop.

8:45 am. Leon Atherton NED FX: Caught it from the front double full to front layout, a little crooked. 1.5 to front full, some leg form. 2.5 was a bit weird in the air, ends up short and really deep, sits it. Ugh, bummer. 10.633 (4.4, 6.233)

Naz Aktürk TUR VT: 10.900 (3.4, 7.600, -0.1)

8:43 am. Little break going into round two!

8:41 am. Round 1 Standings

1. Italy 26.833
2. Switzerland 25.966
3. France 25.733
4. Germany 25.732
5. Belgium 25.699
6. Romania 25.632
7. Ukraine 25.600
8. Spain 25.566
9. Austria 25.166
10. Czechia 25.099
11. Norway 24.233
12. Poland 24.032
13. Great Britain 23.966
14. Netherlands 23.799
15. Türkiye 21.766
16. Hungary 21.133

8:37 am. Helen Kevric GER FX: Full-in, big hop back OOB. Excellent control from the Memmel into the illusion, which she does right down into some lower level choreo. Triple wolf turn. Triple full, slightly deep with a hop forward. Split jump full is gorgeous. Tour jeté half. Front tuck through to 2.5, lands it RIGHT in the corner. Switch leap to switch half. Excellent even with the small tumbling things…her control in her dance is unreal. 12.666 (5.2, 7.766, -0.3)

Mert Öztürk GER HB: 13.066 (4.2, 8.866)

8:36 am. Tomas Kalinic CZE HB: Saw him catch a release, also did a stalder, blind change to front giants, then a full-twisting double layout, deep on the landing with a step forward. 11.933 (3.4, 8.533)

8:34 am. Ema Kandalova GBR FX: Front tuck through to 2.5, pushes her upper body forward going into the landing and it causes her to over-rotate and take a big step over/forward. Double tuck, slow to get it around, lands really short and has a big wobble there. Popa was also a little short. Had a cat leap full in her leap series! Love that. I think she also had a straight jump double turn. Double full for her last pass, small hop. 11.700 (4.6, 7.200, -0.1)

8:31 am. Chloe Baert BEL FX: Double full. Double tuck with two baby steps. Switch leap, amazing toe point, to tour jeté half. Memmel turn, overrotates it a bit. Double full, chest position could be better but otherwise lands it well. Switch half. Front handspring front full, little step forward. Great work, and she ends directly in front of the judges pointing right at them, love that, she’s basically threatening them.

8:29 am. One more rotation to go for round one I believe…Italy now has the lead ahead of Switzerland, then France, then Romania.

The arena has switched from 80s yacht rock during qualifications to like, early 90s dance music today? What a DJ.

8:27 am. Alij de Wijze NED FX: She has a West Side Story routine, love that for her. 2.5 to front tuck, leg form and ends up out of bounds. Double tuck with a couple of steps. Switch leap to tour jeté half. Split jump full into a little stag ring jump, love that. Switch half. Double full is good.

8:26 am. Tommaso Brugnami ITA PB: Pike sit pressed to handstand, very fluid and clean. Basket to handstand had some tiny leg separation, recovers well but goes slowly into a handstand and almost doesn’t make it, Tippelt is also a little short as well, he needs to pull up like a HAIR more on each one. Great stuck double tuck though!! 13.100 (4.1, 9.000)

8:24 am. Anna Knight HUN FX: 2.5, stumble out of it. Rudi, lands a little short, hop back. Double full at the end got a little wonky. 10.833 (4.2, 6.733, -0.1)

Nael Sakouhi FRA PB: 12.833 (4.1, 8.733)

8:23 am. Sara Caputo ITA VT: Just saw her in the background of the stream, couldn’t see details but it looked really solid, maybe a little low but almost stuck maybe? 13.733 (5.0, 8.733)

Ivan Rudyi UKR PB: 13.500 (4.7, 8.800)

8:20 am. Maria Drobniak POL FX: Double pike, a little short with a lunge. Had a REALLY long pause after that before she started dancing again. Double tuck, maybe a little slow in the air but she got the landing with the tiniest step. Switch ring to switch full, not 100% clean but nice difficulty! Double full, slightly deep knees but otherwise solid. Front full at the end, hop forward, but she keeps it inbounds. 11.866 (4.6, 7.266)

Lilou Viallat FRA VT: 12.900 (4.2 D)

8:19 am. David Puicea ROU PB: Arched over a handstand and had to walk out of it right at the end, then the double tuck off went a little wild, big lunge back. 12.766 (4.5, 8.266)

8:17 am. Naz Aktürk TUR FX: Memmel turn, rushes a little but gets it around kind of. Roundoff right into a clean double tuck. Front handspring front full with a small hop. 1.5, legs got really floppy in the air and almost caused a wild landing but she got it back under control. Switch to switch half. 11.100 (4.0, 7.133)

8:16 am. Moving into the second group now. Right now, for teams that have gone, we have Switzerland in the lead with a 25.966, followed by Spain with 25.566, and then Austria with 25.166.

I think Ifeanyi got a 12.033 on beam. Norway currently in fourth.

8:14 am. Carlo Riesco SUI PB: Has really nice swings and handstands at the start. Got a little weak in his leg form on a one-arm pirouette, but hit the double tuck dismount nicely. 12.866 (4.1, 8.766)

8:13 am. I’m pulling scores from the stream when I can, and then from Elevien, which currently has Vincent Lindpointner under WAG.

Still no beam score? Maybe just not in Elevien.

8:11 am. Alex Niscoveanu GBR FX: missed his first pass but he hit it. Front double full to tuck half after that, he twists so…whippy. Double tuck, not bad, small hop. Hit the rest from what I saw, but one of his twists near the end came up a half short and he jumped it around. Idk what he meant to do. Definitely mistakes in there. 12.266 (4.4, 7.866)

Kyano Schepers BEL PB :13.166 (4.6 D)

8:09 am. Vincent Lindpointner AUT FX: Saw from the halfway point I think? He had a layout and a double full with a hop back.

Filip Koperski POL PB: 12.166 (3.2 D)

Kea Walser SUI VT: 13.100 (4.2, 8.900)

Leon Atherton NED PB: 12.066 (4.4 D)

8:08 am. Leire Escauriaza ESP VT: Yurchenko full, went really crooked right from the start and kept veering off to the side in the air, landed it right on the line with her foot OOB, but it was pretty solid otherwise and looked good in the air. 12.966 (4.2, 8.766)

Sergio Kovacs ESP PB: 12.700 (4.1, 8.600)

8:06 am. Kasper Berntsen NOR FX: Front layout to front double full, went long on that one and landed OOB with a big hop. Double tuck, nice knees, stuck with his chest down. Rudi, then a layout down the side. Clean double full at the end. Another nice routine for Norway! 12.200 (4.1, 8.400, -0.3)

Vanesa Masova CZE VT: 13.166 (4.2, 8.966)

8:04 am. Hannah Ifeanyi NOR BB: Had a really nice leap at the start, and nailed a bhs loso. Some leg form but wow, so solid. She had a great quals. Hit the leap series a little tentatively but was fine in the end. Great side aerial. Wow! Her confidence is everything. Full turn. Clean layout full. Very nice work!

Valentina Frint AUT VT: 12.266 (3.6, 8.666)

Metehan Kartin TUR FX: 10.633 (4.7, 6.033, -0.1)

8:01 am. Touch warmups are under way! I think the stream will be jumping around a bit but I’ll try to catch everything I can.

There aren’t any real start lists online, just a list of who’s competing but not where and when. We’ll figure it out as we go along. 🙂 They did show little lists on the screen so I’m sure they’ll let us know who we’re seeing when they’re on screen.

The preliminary round will see 16 teams (one WAG and one MAG per team) competing two apparatuses apiece. The top four teams will move into a one-event semifinal, and then those will bracket into a gold final and a bronze final.

7:58 am. Athletes are marching in now!

7:54 am. It looks like Naël Sakouhi will replace Anthony Mansard for France. That’s the only replacement I’ve heard of officially, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of the other athletes here who will be busy with apparatus finals over the next couple of days decide to take a break and let subs go in their places.

7:50 am. So excited for the mixed pairs event yet again! Here are the qualifiers:
