Miyata Shoko JPN UB: 13.200

2:51 pm. Zhou Yaqin CHN FX: Missed a lot of this because All Gymnastics TV just showed an ad for…themselves? Saw the triple full to front tuck and her switch ring leap connections, 2.5 to front pike was lovely and stuck. 13.833!

Lorette Charpy FRA UB: Looks like another big hit! 14.133!

Arianna Belardelli ITA VT: Assuming the Yurchenko double full, 13.766

2:49 pm. Georgia-Mae Fenton GBR BB: Check on the layout stepout mount. Beautiful double spin. Side aerial loso, bent legs and comes up a little bit short, tries to hold on but falls. Front aerial with a significant wobble. Good on the triple wolf turn. Switch leap to sissone, strong. Double tuck is really cowboyed, rotates slowly and ends up a bit short, step forward. 12.200

2:48 pm. Alice D’Amato ITA VT: 14.166

2:46 pm. Manila Esposito ITA VT: Super powerful Yurchenko 1.5, small hop forward.

2:43 pm. Leanne Wong USA BB: Off on the side aerial. I’m going to scream. She’s still a hero. Nails the flight series and full L turn. Had a few other wobbles and then a big step on the dismount. Qiu Qiyuan CHN FX: 13.400

Marine Boyer FRA UB: 12.866

Sanna Veerman NED VT: 13.066

2:40 pm. Going back to watch Rebeca Andrade’s low-scoring routine, looks good at the beginning, has a wobble on the front aerial and on the jump after, switch ring with a bigger wobble, adjustment on the triple mixed series and on the full turn, lunge back on the double pike, nothing majorly wrong, just lots of little things.

2:39 pm. Rotation 2 Standings

1. United States 86.231
2. China 84.764
3. France 81.599
4. Great Britain 80.799

2:37 pm. Arianna Belardelli ITA FX: Double double, a little deep, step forward. Front tuck through to double tuck, a little low in the set but gets it around with a hop. Switch to switch full with a stumble forward. Big stumble forward on the 2.5 at the end. 13.133

2:36 pm. Zhou Yaqin CHN BB: Front handspring front tuck, break at the hips with a check before nailing the jump series. A few other little bobbles elsewhere, front aerial to split ring jump to Korbut was done well, triple full a bit deep with a hop forward.

Vera van Pol NED FX: 12.900

2:32 pm. Shilese Jones USA UB: Stalder full a little rushed to Chow to big Tkachev, strong! Toe full to Downie to Pak, doesn’t connect to the van Leeuwen but no biggie, smart thinking, toe half to front giant to double front, cowboyed with a hop back. 14.633

2:31 pm. Manila Esposito ITA FX: 13.633

2:28 pm. Georgia-Mae Fenton GBR UB: Wasn’t typing but she hit all of the releases and connections at the beginning, but then went for a toe-on on the low bar and just kind of flew off the bar. Back on for the van Leeuwen, blind full, slight adjustment in handstand, and a full-in, deep landing with a step. 12.400

2:27 pm. Zhang Qingying CHN BB: Switch leap half mount to Korbut, perfection. Super solid roundoff layout series. Switch ring to back handspring to straddle jump to wolf jump. Switch side, tiniest adjustment. Side split jump to back loop, utter perfection. Switch to split jump half. Double pike, a little short with a lunge. I must have missed something because her score is only a 13.266 (6.3, 6.966)

Apparently the judges may have counted the loop as a fall, I guess she came down more on her arms than catching it, but idk, I don’t remember it, I suppose I trust the judges there!

Coline Devillard FRA VT: Didn’t see it but did the handspring rudi, scores a 14.300

2:26 pm. Miyata Shoko JPN VT: Yurchenko double full, didn’t see it, scores a 13.800

Naomi Visser NED FX: 12.333

2:24 pm. Simone Biles USA UB: Weiler half to Maloney with messy legs to blind full to piked Tkachev to a clean Pak, van Leeuwen, could’ve been a little tighter, toe full to full-in with a great landing. 14.466

2:23 pm. Flavia Saraiva BRA BB: Hit the opening mount series and then a bhs loso with a little slide. Good switch ring. Front aerial to split ring jump, great. Side somi, little adjustment. Switch to sissone. Double pike with a step back. 14.066!!!

Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos FRA VT: Yurchenko double full, just saw the replay and the landing was excellent! 14.400

2:21 pm. Alice Kinsella GBR UB: Toe half to piked Jaeger, Ricna to Pak, slight leg separation. Maloney came up really low but still got it into the Gienger, toe full a little crooked with body line deductions throughout, into the half-in double tuck dismount with a step. 13.533

Kishi Rina JPN VT: 13.900

2:20 pm. Alice D’Amato ITA FX: Memmel turn was lovely. Double layout with a big step back OOB. Triple full, little stumble with her leg popping up in the back but pulls it back under control quickly. Switch leap to tour jeté half. 2.5 with a hop forward. Switch ring. 13.300

Ou Yushan CHN BB: 13.933

2:18 pm. Skye Blakely USA UB: Toe half to piked Jaeger, a little low but no problems. Downie to Pak, some leg separation but not severe. Nice handstand before the full pirouette to van Leeuwen, some leg form there. Blind change to front giant to double front half, small step back. Good! 14.166

Marine Boyer FRA VT: 13.266

2:17 pm. Hatakeda Chiaki JPN VT: Comes up short on the Yurchenko 1.5, stumbles it back and sits it. UGHHHHH JAPAN WHY. 11.800

2:15 pm. Jessica Gadirova GBR UB: Piked Jaeger, good. Tkachev to mixed grip to Ezhova, form and the catch isn’t the cleanest. Maloney to Pak, leg separation and a bit close. Van Leeuwen looks pretty solid. Blind full to full-in with a little bounce on the landing. Good comeback after a disappointing vault! 13.700

Julia Soares BRA BB: Ugh, I’m guessing a big mistake or fall, only a 12.200

2:14 pm. Eythora Thorsdottir NED FX: Front double full to start, good landing. Lovely spin sequence into an illusion turn, maybe lacks a little control at the end but still gorgeous. Double tuck with a big bounce back. Switch ring to tour jeté half. 2.5 to front pike with a little bounce. Lovely routine.

2:12 pm. Rotation 1 Standings

1. China 43.032
2. United States 42.966
3. Brazil 41.299
4. Great Britain 41.166
5. Italy 40.666
6. France 39.633
7. Netherlands 39.532
8. Japan 37.832

2:08 pm. Waiting for Wevers’ beam score before we can do some standings!

2:05 pm. Miyata Shoko JPN FX: Strong double layout, just minor leg form. 2.5 had some leg form as well. Popa. Good on the 1.5 to front full. Hits the leap series well enough I think. Crashed her last pass, a double pike, messy legs and she stumbles forward to her face/chest. Looks a little rattled after she salutes. 12.133

2:03 pm. Sanne Wevers NED BB: Hit the opening series, but bent her leg on the L turn and had a stumble to control it. Side aerial to back handspring, she’s off. Nooooooo.

2:01 pm. Mélanie De Jesus Dos Santos FRA FX: Wasn’t typing for this but she hit everything I saw, came up a little short on the double pike at the end but a solid set I think? 13.700

Angela Andreoli ITA BB: 13.033

2:00 pm. Jessica Gadirova GBR VT: Cheng, missed her block and crashed it!!! Oh no. She’s okay though. 13.000

1:59 pm. Rebeca Andrade BRA UB: I caught this from the piked Tkachev to Pak to van Leeuwen, very nice, great handstand before the blind change to big piked Jaeger, nailed the full-in dismount! 14.400

Eythora Thorsdottir NED BB: 13.633

Kishi Rina JPN FX: 12.833

1:55 pm. Qiu Qiyuan CHN UB: Front pirouettes to layout Jaeger, lovely. Inbar full was a bit late, kip casts out of it before the Downie, another kip cast to handstand before the Pak, clean. Van Leeuwen with some hip form, and a full-in with a couple of steps back. 14.733

1:54 pm. Simone Biles USA VT: Does the Cheng today, much cleaner than it’s looked previously here! Crosses her feet and pikes down a bit at the end with a hop to the side. 14.800

Flavia Saraiva BRA UB: Saw this but wasn’t typing, it was a hit routine! 13.733

Morgane Osyssek FRA FX: 13.300

1:53 pm. Ruby Evans GBR VT: Looks like just the Yurchenko double instead of the Amanar, but a good one from the score! Just got a replay and it was SO nice, tiny bounce back. 14.000

Huang Zhuofan CHN UB: 14.533

1:50 pm. Manila Esposito ITA BB: Hit the back handspring mount into the flight series, it’s so excellent. So sad she’s not in this final. Triple wolf turn was strong. Switch to split half to split jump was nice. Side aerial, little slide back. Hit the dismount. 14.133!!!

Leanne Wong USA VT: Apparently Joscelyn Roberson was injured right before vault. This is why Leanne is here. Devastated for Joscelyn of course, but Leanne’s value is so great. 14.066

1:49 pm. Ondine Achampong GBR VT: Yurchenko double full, nice air, small hop back toward the line. 14.166

Lorrane Oliveira BRA UB: 13.166

Naomi Visser NED BB: 12.966

1:46 pm. Hatakeda Chiaki JPN FX: Whip to double tuck, hop back. Goes for the triple L turn, might not have been quite there, but was close. 1.5 to front full with a hop forward. I didn’t see her last pass. 12.866

1:44 pm. Shilese Jones USA VT: Yurchenko double full, massive and really clean, big bounce back. 14.100

1:43 pm. Ou Yushan CHN UB: Van Leeuwen, a little short on the handstand before the blind change to front full pirouette to Jaeger, maybe caught it a bit close, clean Pak, Maloney to Gienger, a little close but looked clean, toe-on, and a full-in with a step to the side. 13.766

1:41 pm. Marine Boyer FRA FX: First pass was either a back 1.5 or front full to front tuck, I missed the entry at the beginning, I thought this was a mistake when I saw it in qualifications but I guess that’s her first pass? Double L to double turn, kind of does it half-heartedly. Hit the double pike short and with a stumble, Memmel, kind of had a stumble on a leap after as well? 12.633

Elisa Iorio ITA BB: 13.500

1:39 pm. Touch is underway. United States and Great Britain start on vault, China and Brazil on bars, Italy and the Netherlands on beam, and France and Japan on floor.

1:35 pm. Teams are being introduced now!

    • And just to add to that…. The clip of Simone and Joselyn calling Melanie De Santos over to congratulate her and Melanie crying in Cecile’s arms is everything.

    • Meanwhile I’m happy for the gymnasts themselves, of course, but I’m legit furious that France ended up on the podium after the way the federation treated Caro Heduit and Kaylia Nemour.

2 years ago there would have been 50+ comments on here congratulating the US girls. Now? Nothing… Because at the international level this sport is a rigged joke and everybody knows it

    • She got hammered for having virtually no beam coreography. Her basic arm flapping can’t really be called that. Plus deductions for very slow rhythm and low chest on dismount and her score is actually quite right.

      • No she didn’t – her routine is fantastic. She was given a 1 point deduction for the Yurchenko loop being considered a fall since she didn’t catch in the correct support position. She would’ve had close to an 8.0 without that “fall.”

        • Exactly –  in fact if you add the 1 point deduction back in she actually would have gotten a higher score than the qualifications. Her routine is great. Different gymnastics have different styles.
