8:36 pm. Bernardo Miranda BRA HB: Clean Tak half, layout Tkachev, straddle Tkachev to piked Tkachev, very nice! German giants to stalder, lovely, double double layout, almost gets the stick, step back. 14.133 (5.3, 8.833) – WOW THAT E SCORE!!! SO DESERVED!!!!
8:33 pm. Audrys Nin Reyes DOM HB: Tak full was a bit wild, as was the Cassina, he was SO off in terms of the twist and his legs were basically straddled, hard fall on his back. AT LEAST THIS WASN’T THE AA. Quast, inbar stalder, layout Tkachev, straddle Tkachev, stalder, beautiful full-twisting double layout, hop back. 12.266 (5.0, 7.266)
8:30 pm. René Cournoyer CAN HB: Tak half perfectly to handstand, to layout Tkachev, amazing! Straddle Tkachev to piked Tkachev, both huge, blind change to front gaint to Tak full, slightly shy of handstand, Yamawaki to Endo, turns around for a stalder and then giants to the dismount, a double double layout, small hop. 14.066 (5.3, 8.766)
8:27 pm. Cameron Bock USA HB: Big layout Tkachev, German giants to stalder, no problems today, blind change to Tak is beautiful, some L grip work then back to reverse for the Tak half, double double layout, small step! 13.766 (5.2, 8.566)
8:24 pm. Touch just wrapping up for the second half!
8:21 pm. Arthur Mariano BRA HB: Tak half, Liukin to Endo, Tak full, some form, to Yamawaki, layout Tkachev to straddle Tkachev, Quast, stalder, and a near-stuck double double layout. OH DAMN. 14.333 (5.7, 8.633)
8:18 pm. Colt Walker USA HB: Zou Li Min, Tak half, Kolman and Kovacs go well, layout Tkachev, some arm bend, straddle Tkachev, great, hop giant, and a stuck double double dismount!!! 13.666 (5.2, 8.466)
8:15 pm. William Emard CAN HB: Yamawaki to Endo, front full pirouette to L grip, Tak half, goes really big on the layout Kovacs but a bit too big and he falls. At least no drama in the pirouettes today. Super high Kovacs, stalder, and double double layout dismount with a step. 11.800 (4.4, 7.400)
8:11 pm. Luca Alfieri ARG HB: I’m so far away from high bar and am blocked by a table so it’s funny that I’ll be watching this on the screen despite being here in the arena lol. Think he started with a Yamawaki, got the layout Tkachev, then a straddle Tkachev, clean on both. German giants, to stalder, high tucked double double, deep landing, hop back. 13.033 (4.8, 8.233)
8:07 pm. The men’s high bar finalists are being introduced!

Hit the double pike, front full to stag, and 2.5 very well, step out of the 2.5 but she brings it under control very nicely. Leaps and everything were fabulous. Truly no one doing it like her. I wasn’t typing because I was watching and soaking it all in, it was MAGICAL to experience this routine in Chile. 12.200 (4.4, 7.900, -0.1 ND)
7:56 pm. Julia Soares BRA FX: Excellent landing on the arabian double front! Also fantastic on the tucked full-in. switch ring to tour jeté half. Triple wolf turn. Clean, stuck double tuck to finish. Maybe bounced in place but barely. Split jump full, lovely. Finishes with a double pike, low set, a little forward on the landing, but nothing severe. 13.633 (5.4, 8.233)
7:53 pm. Aurélie Tran CAN FX: Nice front full to arabesque. I think I missed her first pass somehow? Memmel was lovely. Switch ring to tour jeté half, great landing and control in general. Does balancés in her choreo, obsessed. Double pike, hop back. 13.166 (4.8, 8.366)

Clean double tuck, but she comes up short and has a wild bounce back, saves a fall but steps OOB. 12.633 (5.3, 7.433, -0.1 ND)
7:46 pm. Sydney Turner CAN FX: Hit the double pike at the beginning, a little deep with a hop to the side. Step forward out of the 2.5 in the second pass. Got the leap series and then a double wolf turn I believe. Good landing on the front layout full. 12.500 (4.5, 8.000)
7:42 pm. Kayla DiCello USA FX: Clean, strong double double, little shuffle back. Lovely triple wolf turn. Split jump full, maybe a little short? 1.5 to front full, tiny bounce forward. Nice control on the switch ring to tour jeté half. Super solid double pike! She’s killed it today. 13.733 (5.5, 8.233)
7:39 pm. Flavia Saraiva BRA FX: Double layout, very nice in the air, small hop. Strong switch full. Double tuck, step back. Switch leap to tour jeté full, and then a switch ring half. 1.5 to front full, maybe a little low and long but no problems at all getting it around. Double pike, step back, heel looked OOB but above the floor, not touching it. 13.733 (5.5, 8.233)
7:36 pm. Kaliya Lincoln USA FX: Excellent double double. Small hop back. Full-twisting double layout, pikes it down slightly at the end, hop back. Hit the first leap through to a tour jeté half I believe. Switch full looked strong from my angle. Front full through to double tuck was great! 14.233 (6.1, 8.133)
7:32 pm. Athletes are being introduced for women’s floor exercise!

6:43 pm. Diorges Escobar CUB PB: Hit everything at the beginning, nice on the straddle front, Tippelt was a little muscled, Healy out was good, aggressive on the half turn before the double front, rotated REALLY slowly, nearly sat it, but figured it out in the end, just deep with some steps. 12.733 (5.6, 7.133)
6:41 pm. Colt Walker USA PB: The guys are still yelling. Front pike to handstand, Makuts with a little pause halfway, but not severe, basket to handstand, clean, leg form on the Bhavsar but gets through it, Tippelt was clean, Healy out, nice handstand, half turn before the double front dismount, came off a little low but got it around! 14.366 (6.0, 8.366)
6:37 pm. Curran Phillips USA PB: Wasn’t typing for this because I was video-ing the U.S. men screaming their heads off for him but this was phenomenal! Got all of the difficult pirouettes with EASE, the front straddle salto, and the dismount, all excellent. 15.400 (6.8, 8.600)
6:34 pm. Touch for the second half!
6:31 pm. Bernardo Miranda BRA PB: Rushes a little on the first skill, had a nice transition to the single rail handstand, does a second one that’s just as good, half turn to handstand was strong, Healy maybe a hair short, double front dismount with a step forward. 13.566 (5.1, 8.466)
6:27 pm. Diogo Soares BRA PB: Front pike to handstand, basket to handstand, some leg form in the first pirouette and then falls out of what I think was supposed to be a Makuts? Falls onto the bars and picks himself back up, another shaky transition onto the single bar and then walks his hands coming out of it, big hop back on the dismount. 12.566 (5.7, 6.866)
6:25 pm. Zachary Clay CAN PB: Front pike a little muscled to handstand, arched over and adjusts a hand, pirouette out was nice, a couple more clean pirouettes after that, front straddle salto, maybe a little forward on the catch, double pike clean with a hop. 13.566 (5.5, 8.066)
6:22 pm. Isaac Nuñez MEX PB: A little short on the basket with half turn to handstand and on the one-arm pirouette after, barani was a little low but he corrected well enough, front straddle salto was good, turns around for the Bhavsar, caught a little high maybe? Shoulders looked weird. Lovely Tippelt, just slight hesitation, half turn out has a big arch and he walks his hands a bit, got the double pike dismount. 13.833 (5.9, 7.933)

Switch ring, big wobble, leg comes up, wobbles again as she pulls it back. Good side aerial. Full turn. Double pike, lunge back. Wow, 14.166 (6.1, 8.066)! That moves her to first.
5:47 pm. Aurélie Tran CAN BB: Hit the front aerial to jump series. Lovely flexibility down for her low choreo. Full turn, jump before the side aerial, good connection, unfortunately off on the bhs loso. Side split jump half. Hit an aerial series and a back layout full dismount. 12.133 (5.1, 7.033)
5:43 pm. Ava Stewart CAN BB: Hit the switch to wolf jump, big wobble on the bhs to tuck full. Mixed series with the split ring jump and Korbut was lovely and so fluid! Double wolf turn IIRC. Little check on the switch ring leap. Double pike, chest down, step forward. 13.900 (6.3, 7.600)
5:39 pm. Flavia Saraiva BRA BB: Back handspring mount, little pause before the jump to Korbut. Full turn. Solid bhs loso. Nice switch ring. Front aerial with a pause before the split ring jump. 7. Josue Armijo, Chile, 13.583
8. Alejandro de la Cruz, Cuba, 12.933
5:28 pm. Josue Armijo CHI VT: Shewfelt, just a bit short in getting the flip rotated over enough for the landing, on his heels and slips, hands down behind him. 13.133 (5.2, 7.933)
Kas full with a good landing, little bounce in place. 14.033 (4.8, 9.233)
13.583 average.
5:25 pm. Alejandro de la Cruz CUB VT: Kas 1.5, looked like he had the landing at first, but then kind of punches forward to his hands, OOB/off the mat. 12.900 (5.2, 8.000, -0.3 ND)
Handspring double front, also punches forward to his hands. 12.966 (5.2, 7.766)
12.933 average.
5:23 pm. Daniel Villafañe ARG VT: Another massive Kas 1.5, but his form isn’t super clean and he’s not very controlled on the landing either, big leap forward as he tries to stop his rotation. 13.866 (5.2, 8.666)
Handspring double front, JUST gets it around enough to push forward on the landing and keep it upright. He sat about 5 billion of those in the warmup before the competition. 13.866 (5.2, 8.666)
13.816 average.
5:20 pm. Juan Larrahondo COL VT: Dragulescu, a couple of big steps back out of that, but really strong overall! 14.300 (5.6, 8.700)
HUGE Kas 1.5 but the rotation is a little bit off and he has to take a big step over to the side OOB and off the mat. 13.333 (5.2, 8.433, -0.3 ND)
13.816 average.
5:15 pm. Audrys Nin Reyes DOM VT: Beautiful Kas 1.5, small hop on the landing. Minor crossed leg form in the air. 14.366 (5.2, 9.166)
Dragulescu, RIDICULOUS block, some leg form in the air and his chest is a bit forward on the landing but wow, almost no one is doing that like him. 14.566 (5.6, 9.066, -0.1)
14.466 average, ties Mariano but wins the tie-break with a higher single vault score!
5:12 pm. Yuri Guimarães BRA VT: HUUUUUUUUUGE Kas 1.5. Went almost to the end of the mat?!?! Form isn’t AS clean as Mariano or Dolci, but still not bad at all. Hop forward on the landing. 14.533 (5.2, 9.333)
Handspring double front, bit of a stumble back. 13.733 (5.2, 8.533)
14.133 average.
5:09 pm. Arthur Mariano BRA VT: Shewfelt, SO clean in the air, big lunge forward. 14.500 (5.2, 9.300)
Kas 1.5, again SO clean, step forward, less severe of a deduction than the first. I think he can get ahead with Dolci with that? 14.433 (5.2, 9.233)
14.466 average, moves him ahead!
5:07 pm. Félix Dolci CAN VT: Kas 1.5, super nice in the air, hop forward. 14.500 (5.2, 9.300)
Handspring double front, EXCELLENT rotation, bigger hop forward there but his height on that was fab. 14.266 (5.2, 9.066)
14.383 average.
5:03 pm. Athletes are just starting the touch for the first half of the vault rotation!
