8:25 pm. Day 1 Standings

1. Riley Loos 80.400
2. Fred Richard 79.900
3. Taylor Burkhart 79.750
4. Taylor Christopulos 78.800
5. Drake Andrews 78.400
6. Jun Iwai 78.250
7. Kai Uemura 77.550
8. Sasha Bogonosiuk 77.050

8:21 pm. Kristian Grahovski HB: Had a fall early in his set. Back on for a Tak half, layout Tkachev, straddle Tkachev, hit the dismount.

8:19 pm. Kameron Nelson HB: Cassina goes a bit wild, Kolman also not quite great in the air but gets it around, Endo, Tak half legs come fully apart but he pulls them back, stalder, triple back with a big hop forward.

8:17 pm. Fred Richard PH: Starts out well and moves fluidly into the Russians between the pommels, legs after that are a bit disastrous in terms of form which causes him to hit them on the side of the horse during circles, back on to start the flairs which are nice and powerful, maybe could point his feet a tiny bit more, his ankles I mean, gets a little stuck in the dismount near the end.

8:16 pm. Dante Reive VT: Unfortunately sat down his vault.

8:14 pm. Sasha Bogonosiuk FX: Had a nice front full to double front and 2.5! Full-in landed in a bit of a lunge with his back foot OOB.

Ooh, Alex Nitache with a 14.150 on vault, 9.450 E score!

8:10 pm. Colt Walker SR: Planche was nice, saltos to handstand had a little shake, just a layout dismount.

Patrick Hoopes PH: Ooh the single pommel Russians! So gorg! Overall this was so good from what I saw, so clean into the dismount, beautiful routine.

8:09 pm. Taylor Christopulos VT: Kas 1.5, small bounce forward but that looked really good in the air. Powerful, too!

Hit routine for Riley Loos on rings! I only saw part of it though. 13.550, big E score of 8.950!

8:08 pm. Ethan Cox VT: Haha, did a Kas but missed a half turn at the end and kind of just spun himself around. That was cute.

8:04 pm. Rotation 5 Standings

1. Fred Richard 67.000
2. Riley Loos 66.850
3. Taylor Burkhart 66.550
4. Jeremy Bischoff 65.150
5. Drake Andrews 65.050
6. Kai Uemura 65.000
7. Jun Iwai 64.950
8. Taylor Christopulos 64.700

8:01 pm. Ooh, just saw a replay of Nartey Brady’s vaults and he looked fab!! He did two.

8:00 pm. Kai Uemura PH: Scissors into circles, mostly clean until he travels which causes his legs to go pretty awry, but he tightens up and finishes well.

7:59 pm. Kameron Nelson PB: Had a fall but I missed where. Back on to finish and hit what I saw, double front half dismount I believe. Stuck!

7:58 pm. Colt Walker PH: Circles and Russians on the single pommel, some tight hips in circles after, cleans up in Russians whilst traveling, hits the dismount well!

7:57 pm. Taylor Christopulos HB: Iron cross, back giant to handstand was nice, front saltos to handstand, double double dismount, hop back. Solid!

7:56 pm. Riley Loos PH: Starts off with flairs into scissors I think, then into Russians between the pommels, circles on the pommels, minor form issues as he travels in Russians, some wild hip and knee form after that especially into the dismount, lands it.

7:55 pm. Sasha Bogonosiuk HB: Kolman, good! Pretty clean Kovacs as well. Maybe caught a little close. Stalder, triple back with a lunge, good work!

7:54 pm. Nathan Roman VT: Kas one and a half I believe, but he put his hand back on the landing so a fall unfortunately.

7:51 pm. Saw bits and pieces of Taylor Burkhart on pommels, he looked gorg!

7:48 pm. Fred Richard FX: Double double layout, good landing! Front full to double front, low with a hop back. Stuck double double. 2.5 down the side. Full-in to finish. Great! 14.050

7:44 pm. Rotation 4 Standings

1. Riley Loos 54.550
2. Taylor Burkhart 53.100
3. Fred Richard 52.950
4. Kai Uemura 52.650
5. Jeremy Bischoff 52.450
6. Drake Andrews 51.800
7. Taylor Christopulos 51.600
8. Kameron Nelson 51.500

7:41 pm. Dallas Hale PH: Had a fall halfway through. Hips are pretty closed throughout but has good form moments here and there. A bit of a muscle into the dismount, which was landed well.

7:35 pm. Riley Loos FX: Randi to start, not bad, minor form. Front full to double front, small hop. Great 2.5 to front layout. Full-in I think to finish? Every dismount looks like they’re rotating super slowly today but still no issues getting that around.

7:33 pm. Kiran Mandava FX: Double front with a hop forward. Hit a double full down the side. 2.5 near the end was strong! Scale had some nice back leg height I think? Arabian double front, maybe a little slow to rotate but landed decently.

7:32 pm. Caden Clinton PH: Had some REALLY great work on flares, very flared routine overall, unfortunately came up a bit short on the dismount and just kinda fell out of it into the landing.

7:29 pm. Jeremy Bischoff FX: Strong front full to double front. Double double with a small hop forward. Had one front pass that lost some leg form but overall really nice routine, finished with a double pike.

7:26 pm. Fred Richard HB: Kolman, Tkachev, omfg did he do a triple twisting double layout?!?! I’m really struggling with twists tonight so who knows! Stumble on the landing but okay sir!

7:24 pm. Kameron Nelson VT: Handspring double front and it’s kinda great!

7:19 pm. Rotation 3 Standings

1. Riley Loos 40.650
2. Taylor Burkhart 40.350
3. Alex Nitache 39.600
4. Fred Richard 39.600
5. Kai Uemura 39.500
6. Erich Upton 39.050
7. Jeremy Bischoff 39.000
8. Jun Iwai 38.300

7:15 pm. Taylor Christopulos FX: Double double, big bounce back OOB. Full-twisting double layout I think after that? Also a bounce on the landing. Double full was clean. 2.5 to front layout. Finishes with a full-in, small hop.

7:14 pm. Jeremy Bischoff HB: Jumped in a bit late to this one I think…catch on the Kolman was really close and took some recovery, got the Tkachevs connected though (straddle and pike), double double layout dismount, some leg form and a small hop.

7:13 pm. Erich Upton PB: some good pirouette work at the start. Arched over on a cast to handstand but had a lovely pirouette out of that. A little short on the next skill. Pike sit pressed to handstand was also pretty clean, minor adjustment, dismount went really slow but he still got it around.

7:10 pm. I’ve missed a bunch of things but trying to catch up even though I feel like the rotation is somehow almost over?!

Sadly didn’t see Ignacio Yockers on pommels but he got a 14.050! Good routine from Crew Bold on p-bars until he sat the dismount unfortunately.

7:07 pm. Fred Richard PB: Wasn’t typing but this looked pretty fab to me at the start, I think it was a Bhavsar maybe where he went a bit wild in the air and didn’t quite catch right, could’ve been a Tippelt, I wasn’t super paying attention but either way it was rough. Got out of a jam and dismounted well though!

7:04 pm. Colt Walker HB: Zou Li Min, Tak half right to handstand! Kolman, good. Kovacs, also good. OMFG, didn’t get any counter rotation on the layout Tkachev and had the most awkward situation in the air followed by a hard fall. Thankfully is okay, back on and gets it this time, into a straddle Tkachev, just a layout dismount which he stuck.

6:56 pm. Rotation 2 Standings

1. Taylor Burkhart 28.000
2. Brandon Nguyen 27.600
3. Riley Loos 27.300
4. Kiran Mandava 26.950
5. Kai Uemura 26.700
6. Preston Ngai 26.600
7. Erich Upton 26.350
8. Jeremy Bischoff 26.350

6:53 pm. Alex Diab SR: Inverted cross lowered to maltese, lovely and so steady. Holds his back giant to handstand perfectly. Swings through to planche then down to iron cross. Everything else good, great landing on the dismount!

6:47 pm. Fuzzy Benas FX: Front full to double front, small hop forward on his toes, really pushes to stay in-bounds and he does! Double double with a wobble on the landing but keeps his feet steady. Double full down the side. Hit the last two passes, believe it was a full-in at the end. Good routine!

6:46 pm. Caden Clinton HB: Wasn’t typing but this was a hit routine, full-twisting double layout dismount a bit short with a step.

6:44 pm. Jun Iwai FX: Front double full to double front, ambitious! Gets it around with some form. Think he had a double-twisting double layout after that? HARD run into a randi, a little short in rotation. Flairs. Had a side leg stretch that was like…fine lol. Double pike to finish was a little slow but hit!

6:42 pm. Justin Park FX: Double front with a hop. 2.5 to front layout, ends up tucking his legs but still can’t get it around, sits. Front full down the side. Double full was clean. Back layout down the side. Double tuck, small hop.

6:39 pm. Alex Nitache HB: Liukin! Wild Kolman but caught it, Kovacs was better, triple back tuck with a lunge back.

6:38 pm. Preston Ngai SR: Iron cross to inverted maltese, I do not remember what this is called (edit it was an inverted planche lol), saltos to handstand, arches over quite a bit, also a bit uneasy on the giant to handstand, double double dismount nearly stuck, small step after a lil pause.

6:37 pm. Fred Richard VT: Handspring front double full, a little low on the landing, has to take a big hop to the side and lands completely off the mat haha.

6:36 pm. Riley Loos PB: Good cast to handstand, barani, Ono lookd good, lost some leg form on a full pirouette after that, double front dismount looked a little wonky in the air and had a step back.

6:35 pm. Brian Solomon VT: Handspring rudi, a little low off the table and had a large-ish stumble back.

6:33 pm. Kiran Mandava PB: Hit all the pirouettes at the start well, arched over on a cast to handstand after the opening series, double front dismount had a small hop back.

6:28 pm. Rotation 1 Standings

1. Riley Loos 14.500
2. Taylor Burkhart 14.200
3. Brandon Dang 14.000
4. Jesse-Lee Pakele 13.950
5. Kameron Nelson 13.950
6. Brandon Nguyen 13.750
7. Kiran Mandava 13.650
8. Alexandru Nitache 13.500

6:25 pm. Live scores are live!

6:23 pm. Jun Iwai HB: Big Cassina! Followed by a Kolman I thought would miss but he had no issue. Layout Tkachev, Tak half finished almost below horizontal. Stalder to toe-on to a hop full that was a low-key disaster but again a great recovery and he hit the dismount with a big hop forward.

6:22 pm. Fred Richard SR: We jumped in a little late, looked good in everything at the beginning, I caught up at saltos to handstand, a bit slow to hit the position, double double layout dismount a little low with a hop back.

I won’t get into the uniform discourse beyond saying that the lil thermal undies are a choice. Compression I’d imagine? Or helpful in some way?

6:21 pm. Kristian Grahovski FX: Piked double front I think was his first? Then a front double full with a step forward, double full down the side, whip to 2.5, really slow in the double pike to finish, lunge forward.

6:20 pm. Justin Park HB: Hit some pirouettes at the beginning, layout Tkachev caught pretty close, German giants had a bit of a blip going into the stalder but covered well, large stumble back on the full-twisting double layout.

6:19 pm. Kameron Nelson FX: Triple back! Chest slightly forward but get it. Triple pike! Front double full to front layout. Front full to double front, solid landing. Hop back on the double double. He had a scale before the second to last pass and I feel like his leg was too low but who knows how these are going to bed judged, especially domestically.

6:18 pm. Kai Uemura VT: Looked like a solid kaz full!

6:17 pm. Okay, live scores were listed under future meets instead of current meets but they’re not exactly LIVE so who knows.

Just saw Riley Loos on vault and looked like he hit but they zoomed the video and I have no idea what was happening.

6:14 pm. Kiran Mandava VT: Didn’t see what he did but looked clean with a good landing! Yurchenko maybe?

6:13 pm. Jeremy Bischoff VT: Kaz full I believe, low chest and a hop forward.

6:12 pm. Brandon Dang PH: Scissors into circles on the single pommel, Russians look solid, one-arm swings also good, got a little low to the horse traveling in Russians, also lost some hip and leg form there, but cleaned up quickly, a little tentative on the dismount but gets it around without an issue, looks really happy with that!

6:07 pm. Okay, touch is underway! If you’re looking for live scores, the meet is listed as Winter Classic on MyUSAGym. Or maybe not. I only see lower levels. I don’t know WHERE live scores are because that’s all I could find!

6:02 pm. I’m watching the stream on YouTube if you were wondering! I think it’s the luck of the draw with the routines they’ll show but I assume it’ll be all the big ones.

Athletes are being introduced at the moment.

6:00 pm. I think this is my first live blog since the Olympics and I’m gonna need more luck than the men actually competing, your girl is RUSTAAAAAY.
