Field Set for U.S. Championships in New Orleans

Stephen Nedoroscik

USA Gymnastics has announced the field for this year’s U.S. Championships, which will be held from August 7 through August 10 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Among the 137 athletes expected to compete are Olympic champion Hezly Rivera, who won a gold medal as part of the U.S. women’s team in Paris last summer, along with Olympic bronze medalists Asher Hong, Brody Malone, Stephen Nedoroscik, and Fred Richard.

Rivera returned to competition earlier this year and helped the U.S. team to gold at the Pan American Championships in June, where she also won bronze medals in the all-around and on beam. Hong and Richard have also competed this year in both elite and NCAA competition, but this meet will mark the return for Malone and Nedoroscik.

A full list of competitors who have qualified to nationals and have confirmed their participation is below. For more information, including the complete schedule and how to follow along, visit the USA Gymnastics event page.
