The 2015 Scottish National Championships will be held this weekend, with many of the program’s Commonwealth Games gymnasts expected to compete.
On the women’s side, 2014 Scottish national champion and three-time Commonwealth Games competitor Emma White has retired, leaving the title open for her 2014 teammates Amy Regan of Lars Gymnastics and Carly Smith of City of Glasgow Gymnastics Club to battle it out for the crown. The young Erin McLachlan of Diamonds Gymnastics Club was also expected to put up a challenge, though has unfortunately withdrawn from the competition due to injury.
Among the men, you’ve likely heard of Daniel Purvis of Southport YMCA. The bronze medal-winning 2012 Olympian and three-time British all-around champion will aim to defend his 2014 Scottish title against the likes of fellow Glasgow 2014 team silver medalists Frank Baines (also of Southport YMCA) and Liam Davie of City of Glasgow.

The weekend of competition will include the all-around championship on Saturday February 21 as well as individual apparatus finals on Sunday February 22.
Though ticket sales have closed online, you can still purchase them at the door before the event (subject to availability). The competition will be held at the Bells Sport Centre in Perth.
For more information, head over to the official website of Scottish Gymnastics. We will also be providing as detailed a report as we possibly can, though it doesn’t look as though the event will be streamed online.
