Anyway, Simone Biels is the THREE TIME WORLD AA CHAMPION, second time it’s been done, FIRST time it’s been done back-to-back-to-back!!! #HISTORY

8:49 pm. Simone Biles FX- Has the house to HERSELF. As it should be. Double layout full, tiny bounce and crazy screams. Biles to stag, and she leaps suuuuper far out of bounds. If anything, today – like the first day of nationals – shows that Simone is mortal just like everyone. Double double, small hop. Full-in tuck, bounce. Great job despite the OOB. 15.266

8:46 pm. Giulia Steingruber FX- Opens with full-twisting double layout, legs a bit apart but hit! Double layout, tucked full-in, both great. Finishes well! Great job. 14.5, and a 57.333 AA

8:45 pm. Just saw Gabby’s double arabian to stag in the replay, the one pass I missed when my feed froze. Excellent! 14.583, and she finishes with a 59.316!

YOU STILL MAD, EVERYONE WHO WHINED AND WHINED AND WHINED ABOUT MAGGIE? Now who’s the “rightful” AAer? Guess what, in a country with this much depth, MULTIPLE PEOPLE WILL DESERVE ALL-AROUND SPOTS IN FINALS. Maggie deserved to do AA! Gabby deserved to do AA! Aly deserved to do AA! Hell, even MyKayla Skinner would’ve been like 5th in this final.

8:40 pm. MY FEED FROZE JUST AS IORDACHE STARTED I HATE THIS LIFE. I guess I’ll just wait in suspense of her score. I’m sure Kensley will get it!

Gabby Douglas FX- Tucked full-in to stag, hits. Double pike, small bounce. Double tuck, nearly stuck. I must have missed her first pass but I’m PRETTY SURE it was amazing. Also, she showed her PERSONALITY in this routine! The other night she went for sassy but just looked pissed, lol. #RBFprobs

Ellie Black FX- 2.5 through to double tuck, perfectly stuck. BOSS. Front double full to punch front, good. 1.5 through to double pike, tiny hop to the side. I can hear another commentator – BBC maybe? – freaking out. Hilarious! 14.425

Lieke Wevers got a 13.366 on floor and finished in the all-around with a 55.632.

Carlotta Ferlito UB- Stalder to Maloney to bail to Ray, stalder half to front giant to really straddled Jaeger, double arabian dismount. Not bad! 13.6, 55.74 AA

8:32 pm. Elisabeth Seitz BB- Bhs layout is super piked and there’s a big wobble. She’s either wobbling or checking on everything. Jumps are good. Stuck gainer layout. 13.433 and a 55.765 finish

8:28 pm. Seda Tutkhalyan FX- Double layout hop forward. 2.5 to punch front pike. Her music sounds like a 1970s game show theme song. I’ve never really noticed it before? 1.5 to layout half to split jump. Double pike with a tiny hop. 13.566 and a 55.432 finish

Pauline Schaefer VT- Handspring layout half, great job 14.633, AA is 54.965

Shang Chunsong VT- FTY, not bad, short and piked, 13.866 …finishes AA with 58.265

Anyone kind of wishing Shang Chunsong would just casually bust out a DTY on vault and pull in for bronze? Right now it looks like it could very well be Larisa if she hits bars!

8:20 pm. Ruby Harrold FX- Double arabian, stumble forward. Front double full, step forward. 1.5 to front full, stumble back. Memmel, double tuck with a step back to finish.

8:18 pm. Gabby Douglas BB- I missed the beginning due to this terrible feed. Switch to switch half, punch front tuck, little hop. Full L turn. Switch ring, check, front aerial, jump series, all good. Double pike, chest down, little hop in place. Just saw the beginning and it was all hit! YAY. 14.4

8:13 pm. Simone’s eyelashes are INSANE right now.

Ellie Black BB- Double spin, check but holds it. Punch front pike, great. Bhs layout, bounces out of it and leg comes up. AND MY FEED FROZE. The FIG stream hates Ellie Black apparently. Hopefully I’ll catch some slo-mo stuff. Yeah, off on tuck full. SIGH. That’s about all you need to know there!

8:12 pm. Wang Yan VT- Tsuk double, chest down, slight pike, loose in knees, step out to the side.

8:10 pm. Lieke Wevers BB- Switch to sissone, side aerial to side aerial, lovely. Front aerial with a pause going into the sheep, shady connection. 1.5 L turn, bends knee on final half rotation. Double spin. Back handspring. Lovely choreo. Side somi. Perfectly stuck gainer layout dismount. 14.2

8:09 pm. Laura Jurca UB- Hindorff, hop front giant half, clear hip full to Gienger, pak, clear hip half to clear hip to toe on to toe shoot, full-in with a hop. Not the cleanest of sets but she did her job.

8:08 pm. Asuka Teramoto UB- I missed the pirouettes but saw Gienger, inbar to stalder half to Jaeger, legs come apart in a handstand, full-in nearly stuck

8:07 pm. Carlotta Ferlito VT- Yurchenko 1.5, big hop forward

8:06 pm. Larisa Iordache VT- DTY, big, hop back. Mostly nice body line, just crosses her legs a bit. 15.066

8:05 pm. You know that mistake from Simone means she will absolutely MURDER the floor. #Revenge

8:03 pm. Shang Chunsong FX- 3.5 to punch front is messy from the start and she takes a big step out to the side but stays up. 1.5 through to triple full to punch front pike, also a bit messy. 2.5 to punch layout half. Double pike, step back. 14.533

8:02 pm. Sorry, I think I said Seitz fell on bars earlier, but it must have been floor? She’s on bars now and seems to be doing well based on what I can see in the background!

8:00 pm. Seda Tutkhalyan BB- Hits layout series, but layout full is nowhere close to being in line with the beam and she basically just lands on the floor. Misses connection between front aerial and sheep jump. Switch ring, check. Double pike with a hop. 12.4

Pauline Schaefer FX- Double layout (short), double tuck (bounce back), triple spin, front double full (gorgeous), stuck double pike to finish. Stunning routine!

7:57 pm. Simone Biles BB- Wolf 2.5 about as perfect as it can be. Switch to pike, good. Barani, excellent. Sails through bhs loso loso. Oh my GOD, wobbles on her punch front tuck and puts her hands down. Gabby’s probably like doing the Pennsatucky praise Jesus hands right about now. She fought like HELL to stay on. Switch to switch half to back pike, hit. Front aerial to wolf jump, small check. she seems really nervous after that mistake. Full-in, chest down and a hop back. Still a relatively great score, though…14.4

7:55 pm. Amy Tinkler FX- Love her music. Double double, step out of bounds. Big double layout, small bounce back. Lots of sass in this routine. She’s great. 1.5 through to 2.5, steps forward. Double pike, bounce back. 13.966

7:47 pm. Larisa Iordache FX- Goes for double double, and it’s a little messy but she hits, step forward. Piked full-in stuck cold, albeit again, messy. Hops around her pirouette at the end. Triple full, not all the way around, struggles to hold herself up. Oh my god, that Memmel to illusion is a disaster. Raised leg on the illusion is fully bent. Sticks double pike.

7:42 pm. Mai Murakami BB- Love her mount. Bhs bhs layout with great rhythm. Really nicely done. Switch to back tuck, side aerial, double spin overshoots a bit but she holds it, front aerial to sheep, a little pause between. double pike, small hop. 14.033

7:41 pm. Tea Ugrin FX- Full-in with a small step, triple full, Memmel turn, front aerial, really nice double tuck to finish. 13.733

7:40 pm. Gabby Douglas UB- Inbar full to huge piked Tkachev to pak, beautiful. Inbar to inbar half to Endo half to Chow, also great. Pings off for great double layout, just a small hop back. 15.033

7:37 pm. Ellie Black UB- Clear hip to Shang, nice! Jaeger to pak, aaaand my feed froze. Didn’t see the rest. Looks happy waiting for her score, though! I hear Tea Ugrin’s music in the background. Her floor is crazy good. 14.0

Shang Chunsong BB- Bhs bhs layout, jump series hit, switch half, bhs loso, front tuck, double spin, front aerial to sheep jump, side aerial, stuck triple full! Fantastic job. 14.7

7:35 pm. Wang Yan FX- Double double, chest down but otherwise a great landing. 1.5 through to triple full to punch front, may have saw a foot go out on the triple but not sure. 2.5 to punch front and she gets no punch and sits it. SIGH. She was out anyway after the beam fall. BUT STILL. Double pike, bounce back. 13.5

7:34 pm. Lieke Wevers UB- Piked Tkachev to pak, nice bail to toe full to toe shoot, front giant to double front, clean with a step! 14.333

7:30 pm. Amy Tinkler BB- I missed the very beginning. Saw from the gainer layout to loso, my favorite flight series, and she has a fall! NO. Struggling a bit from this point on, including on side aerial. Triple full under-rotated and landed about a quarter shy. 12.233 but she looks happy and is cheering people on

7:29 pm. Ruby Harrold BB- Very sassy. Switch sissone, switch half, punch front, illusion (wobble), oh, and a fall on her bhs loso. Side aerial,s witch ring, took off weirdly into her roundoff to double tuck. 12.433

7:28 pm. Simone Biles UB- Her gold eyeshadow. GURL. Love it. Weiler half to Maloney (leg sep), toe full to Tkachev, clean. Piked Tkachev to pak, also lovely. Toe shoot. Toe on to full-in, tiniest hop to the side. 14.9

7:27 pm. Asuka Teramoto VT- Handspring Rudi, one of her better ones this week! Chest down and some form issues but that should be a big score. It’s crazy that Japan has three 15+ vaults in their lineup! 15.166

7:25 pm. Giulia Steingruber UB- Toe on to Maloney to pak, not bad! Clean van Leeuwen. Girl is doing some WORK on this event. Toe full to Gienger, front giant to double front is cowboyed with a hop forward but overall that’s a great bars routine for her. 13.9

7:24 pm. Lisa Verschueren VT- Big and clean near-stuck FTY. Very nice work. 14.133

7:23 pm. Just saw a closer look at Ellie Black’s vault and she was VERY piked. But otherwise a huge vault.

7:17 pm. A look back at Laura Jurca’s floor routine. Her hand clap at the beginning kills me every single time. Hits first pass. 2.5 to front tuck is great. I missed a bit of the interior, didn’t see 3rd pass. Double tuck to finish. 13.9

7:13 pm. Ooh, a look at Rune Hermans on floor! Love her and this routine. She’s fabulous. I caught it from the 2.5 to punch front tuck (step back), and she had a huge smile on her face the whole time. 13.6

Tea Ugrin BB- front aerial, split jump to wolf jump, full turn, bhs loso, switch ring, switch half, side aerial, switch side, side somi, double tuck with a step back. 13.766

7:08 pm. Wang Yan BB- Grigoras, switch ring tiny bobble before sheep jump, no connection. Roundoff layout, hands down and she falls. Punch front tuck. Front aerial to split jump. Full turn. Switch to wolf jump. Triple full with a step.

7:06 pm. Ellie Black VT- Beautiful handspring front full. Right down the middle, small hop forward. 15.033

Shang Chunsong UB- Holds first handstand before Shang to pak, beautiful. Shaposh to Gienger, giant half, Ono to Healy to Jaeger, excellent. A few handstands that are a little too quick and don’t hit the mark, but she hits a gorgeous stuck full-in. Excellent. 15.166

Lieke Wevers VT- Just an FTY and she’s way short on the landing. Shocker, because usually she’s gorgeous here. Hops forward, chest down. 13.733

Flavia Saraiva BB- Off on first flight series (my feed froze and I missed it), but she hits her bhs layout. Very nervous and wobbly today. Front aerial to front aerial, misses connection to side smi and she falls but catches herself with her hands and pulls herself back up. Double pike, hop. 12.266

7:00 pm. Some chat between Aimee and Simone after her vault. “You should’ve taken your time with it!” “I know.” Now Gabby is wearing SImone’s pants. GREAT.

6:57 pm. Giulia Steingruber VT- Excellent handspring Rudi. There are moments where her body is a tiny piked but for the most part it’s great and her landing is also excellent. 15.6

6:55 pm. Larisa Iordache BB- bhs tuck full step, roundoff back layout (piked), double spin nice, switch, shy on switch half, front aerial, split to wolf, side somi, triple full dismount. GOOD! 14.766

Ruby Harrold UB- Maloney to wild Bhardwaj, van Leeuwen (leg sep) to Zuchold to toe full, toe shoot, toe half to Jaeger, double front chest down and tiny step. 14.533

Gabby Douglas VT- Big and clean stuck DTY. She’s totally trying to hide a smile! Damn, in the replay she is DEAD center. Just the tiniest foot movement. 15.3

6:50 pm. I’m listening to the commentary for the first time today and I love the accent I’m hearing right now because I feel like I’m watching the old Nickelodeon show “Guts.” Remember Moira? She was like the coolest lady.

6:45 pm. Huge cheers for Larisa Iordache, who looks to be in good spirits. Everyone else looks a touch nervous. Obviously huge cheers for Ruby Harrold and Amy Tinkler as they come out and salute. Final group coming out now and we have insanity for Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas. Everyone up there in the top group has won an international championship in the past year, except Lieke Wevers, though she gets introduced as the Euro Games bronze medalist. Still awesome!

6:43 pm. Athletes are coming out now, in reverse Olympic order. In case you didn’t know, the all-around rotation order is determined by qualification rank. The top 1-6 are start on vault, 7-12 on bars, 13-18 on beam, and 19-24 on floor.
