FRIDAY MARCH 11

9:42 pm. Okay, that’s about all the excitement my sick body and brain can take tonight. See y’all bright and early for Glasgow World Cup! And then more college gym tomorrow afternoon.

9:39 pm. Atkinson, Auburn, FX- Nails tucked full-in. Nails middle pass and double back final pass everrrrr at this arena. Not everrrrr though because she still has SECs and regionals if not also nationals (but probably also nationals).

9:37 pm. Conrad, ASU, BB- Nails bhs loso, side somi, switch to switch side, front full with a hop. Great finish.

9:36 pm. Demers, Auburn, FX- Aww, she’s tearing up a little before. Full-in, a little short. Knees are a little messy on her second pass landing. Oh man, sits double pike. She clearly really wanted to rotate it enough unlike the first two…still a great performance.

9:33 pm. Allex, ASU, BB- Bhs loso, little adjustment. Hit the rest.

9:31 pm. Kluz, Auburn, FX- Big full-in tucked. 1.5 to front lay I think, my feed got a little janky. Huge double tuck, but chest is down a little. Aww, so many senior night tears.

9:29 pm. Belkoff, ASU, BB- Off on bhs bhs loso series. Ughhh ASU. Switch to straddle half. One-arm front walkover to Korbut, love it. Hit the rest.

9:26 pm. Rott, Auburn, FX- Huge double layout. The camera guy sitting opposite the one who’s feed is showing now has the BIGGEST grin on his face hahaha. Front lay front lay half to jump, good. Double pike, awesome.

9:24 pm. Udowitch, ASU, BB- Front aerial, wobble. Front aerial to bhs, good. Front toss, side aerial to layout full. There’s a coach on the sidelines I don’t know, and she looks like the happiest, most positive person ever, hahaha. What a change.

9:22 pm. Hlawek, Auburn, FX- Awesome double arabian. 1.5 to front lay, little step. Fantastic double tuck.

9:20 pm. Callis, ASU, BB- Salas then Callis. Nails bhs loso. Switch to split jump. Cat leap to side aerial, hands down. They’ll count a fall. Stuck side aerial to layout full.

9:18 pm. Milliet, Auburn, FX- Good Rudi. Awesome double pike. 1.5 front layout. Excellent start.

9:16 pm. Salas, ASU, BB- Bhs loso, a little off and then she tries to fight but falls. Struggles with front tuck, and falls on that too. Front full with a hop. She’s like, sobbing half because this is her last regular season routine ever and half because she knows it’s a hot mess last regular season routine. It’s okay, get it at conference champs.

9:07 pm. Conrad, ASU, FX- Good double pike, step forward. Front lay to front half, a bit piked on the latter.

9:05 pm. Atkinson, Auburn, BB- Solid bhs loso. Cat leap to front aerial. Switch to pike jump. Side aerial to stuck tuck full. Great routine.

9:03 pm. Allex, ASU, FX- Double arabian, great. 2.5 to front full is awesome as always. Rudi to finish. Great routine.

9:01 pm. Milliet, Auburn, BB- Little check on jump series. Solid bhs loso. Wobble on full turn. Good front aerial. Cat leap to stuck gainer full with feet apart.

8:59 pm. Salas, Arizona State, FX- Front layout front full, double pike, overall a great routine.

8:58 pm. Demers, Auburn, BB- Bhs loso, little bobble. Switch to sheep jump, looked like she missed footing after side aerial into the back full, and she bent her knees to hit the layout but that’ll be a deduction.

8:56 pm. Udowitch, ASU, FX- Double pike, step back. 1.5 to front pike. Great Rudi to finish. My, Sun Devils, y’all look REJUVENATED.

8:54 pm. Krippner, Auburn, BB- Front aerial with a slight wobble. Supposed to connect it to bhs but she misses and does bhs loso instead. Not bad for a cover-up. Hits jumps. Stuck 1.5 with feet apart.

8:52 pm. Belkoff, ASU, FX- Double pike, good. Great front double full, casual E pass for her second pass. 1.5 to front layout. Good routine.

8:50 pm. Cerio, Auburn, BB-bhs loso has a tiny bobble. Punch front full dismount with a step.

Just saw Bridget Sloan’s beam score was bumped up to a 9.875 LOL. Ok.

8:48 pm. Callis, ASU, FX- 2.5 to start, some form stuff and a step. 1.5 to front lay is VERY loose.

8:46 pm. Hlawek, Auburn, BB- Hit flight series, leaps, front toss to beat jump, 1.5 with a little bit of leg sep and a step forward.

8:37 pm. I don’t know who’s commentating but it sounds like McKayla Maroney! Hahaha. I think it’s possibly Megan Walker?

8:36 pm. Atkinson, Auburn, UB- Toe-on to bail, Tkachev, good. Great full-in. YAY Caitlin.

8:35 pm. This is a really terrible live blog tonight, I’m so sick and unable to do anything PROPERLY. Jumping over to Auburn and Arizona State now.

8:28 pm. Caquatto, UF, FX- Aww she gets a standing ovation too. I was worried. Front double full to front tuck, good. Rudi to split jump. Good double pike. Her landings were better than Bridget’s so she gets an 11. Landings are the only things that matter.

8:25 pm. Baker, UF, FX- Awesome Dos Santos. Good double pike. 1.5 to straddle, great.

Puryear, UK, FX- Hit Rudi. Double tuck. Good routine.

8:24 pm. They did the slo-mo on the 0.1 hop in the last pass while gurgling over the 10 hahaha. Bless. Hopefully intentional, editors? Bridgey Caquatto is like “what about me.”

8:20 pm. Sloan, UF, FX- Awww standing ovation for Bridget for her last performance ever in the O’Dome. I think the male commentator might be crying LOL. 1.5 through to 2.5, great landing. Maybe commentators if you love her so much you can zip your mouths so we can actually hear her music. Maybe we don’t need to hear you say LAST TIME IN THE O’DOME for the second time in 20 seconds. Double pike, hops into a controlled lunge. 1.5 to front layout with a hop. Well, there was a hop, so if that’s a 10, then I’ll be a monkey’s uncle, but good for her for having a great last performance.

8:19 pm. Stuart, UK, FX- Double pike is nice. Front full front layout. Hit final pass.

8:17 pm. Boren, UF, FX- “It doesn’t matter if you can hit your passes as long as you SMILEEEEE and that’s what she is still LEARNING!!!!” – Every UF commentator. Really? Smiling makes a floor routine? KEWL. If I were at UF I would grunt and growl the whole way through while nailing everything and my music would be savage and everyone would cry. Hits full-in, 1.5 to front layout, double tuck is great. I give it a 9.5, would’ve been a 9.9999 if she had only smiled better.

8:15 pm. Hyland, UK, FX- Big double pike to start. 1.5 to front lay to finish, excellent!

Mackie, UNC, BB- Bhs bhs loso, wobble. Gainer pike, step.

8:14 pm. McLaughlin, UF, FX- Front lay front full. Commentators are like “she is normally only a beam specialist, never competes floor!!!” Doesn’t she always compete floor? Like, this season? 1.5 front pike. Rudi, and her choreo right after it looks like she claps for herself hahahaha. I’d clap for myself after every pass.

Green, ISU, BB- Bhs loso, good. Hit front full dismount, very happy! Great routine.

8:12 pm. Pheil, UNC, BB- The only UNC gymnast who matters because her family is from Gainesville in case you didn’t hear them say it ALL THE LIVE LONG DAY. Bhs loso is solid. Punch front full with a hop.

Roemmele, UK, FX- Double pike. Good 1.5 to front full.

8:10 pm. Fassbender, UF, FX- 2.5 to punch front tuck is okay. Hit middle pass and 1.5 to front pike.

Converse, ISU, BB- Hit jump series. Front toss which for some reason I was like “ooh a wolf jump FLIP” LOLOL I am still sick with FEVER I tell you don’t laugh at me. Hit flight series. Hit dismount.

8:08 pm. Cappalli, UNC, BB- Bhs loso, little stumble. Hit leaps. Side aerial with a wobble, deep landing, but stands it up. Hit dismount.

7:58 pm. I think it’s actually Alex McMurtry’s senior night. She’s gunning for like a 39.75 AA right about now.

7:56 pm. Sloan, UF, BB- Cat leap, wobbles into front aerial to beat jump. Bhs loso with a stumble back. Full turn. Double full with a little foot movement. Three small bobbles. If it’s above a 9.9 I will puke all over your head sir. WOW, 9.825. Look at you, Florida judges!

Dukes, UK, BB- Bhs loso, check. Front aerial to beat jump. Hits jump series. 1.5 with a little hop.

7:55 pm. Lane, UNC, FX- She shares music with THE GREAT BRIDGEY CAQUATTO, HOW DARE SHE. Hit double pike. A little short on her final pass.

7:53 pm. McMurtry, UF, BB- Bhs loso, Shushunova + back hip circle, stuck double full. If she gets a 10 again Bridget’s head is going to implode.

Waltz, UK, BB- Bhs loso is good, switch to back tuck, good routine.

7:49 pm. Boren, UF, BB- Front toss, bhs loso with the tiniest adjustment. Switch to straddle. Cat leap to gainer loso, check. Gainer full with a little hop.

Stuart, UK, BB- Switch to split. Flight series is a bhs loso series with slightly bent legs. Side aerial. 1.5 with a step.

7:48 pm. Cappalli, UNC, FX- Aww I saw her in the Nastia Cup a million years ago! Double pike, hits with a little struggle. Hit middle pass and last pass.

O’Dell, ISU, FX- Double pike, little bobble. Double tuck, legs are a little off but she lands it well.

7:45 pm. Fassbender, UF, BB- Front aerial. Think it was supposed to be to a bhs? Or no, she’ll do a bhs loso. There it is. Solid. Beat to sheep jump, wobble. Side aerial to layout full.

Roemmele, UK, BB- Solid bhs loso. Rest of the routine is great, hit dismount. 1.5. She’s a senior too I think!

7:44 pm. ISU, FX- 2.5 with a step forward. Double tuck, chest slightly down. 1.5 to front full, good.

Florida commentators are acting like UNC should kiss the ground for being blessed enough to be allowed to enter this holy arena.

7:43 pm. Whittle, UK, BB- Side aerial to Korbut. Hit dismount. Good work.

7:42 pm. McLaughlin, UF, BB- Front aerial to bhs, smiles after. Switch with a super short back leg, to ring jump. Full turn. Side aerial, wobble. Hit gainer full.

7:40 pm. Sorry my mom was FaceTiming me for the first 35 minutes of this and then my Thai food showed up so I was a little bit phoning it in to start. Missed the first UF beam. ‘Twas Baker and she got a 9.85.

7:32 pm. Beucler, UK, UB- Jaeger to overshoot, full-in stuck, just a little leg sep. Awww, this is her senior meet I just realized, her last routine at home AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW happy for her.

7:31 pm. McMurtry, UF, UB- Hit routine, I missed specifics.

Dukes, UK, UB- Hit double layout, stuck! Rest of the routine looked good.

7:30 pm. Phew, 9.975 for Bridget. One judge is terrible, the other is a noble steed.

7:29 pm. Sloan, UF, UB- Ray with flexed feet as per usual, bail to toe shoot, good feet there! stuck double layout. If she gets a 10 with her Tkachev feet before McKenzie Wofford does for being legit perfect I’ll burn down the state of Florida.

7:27 pm. Caquatto, UF, UB- Big Ray, toe on to bail, stuck double layout with her chest angled down.

Rechenmacher, UK, UB- Fell on Jaeger. Gets on again, oh no. Looks like she did something to her shoulder when she fell. Goes to do a giant full on the high bar and literally just like, jumps right back off because she’s in too much pain to hold it. OY. Not crying but in visible pain.

7:25 pm. Dancose-Giambattisto, UF, UB- Maloney to bail, double layout with a hop back.

Hyland, UK, UB- Hit release, bail to toe shoot, full-in stuck with her chest down.

7:23 pm. SO glad a judge gave McMurtry a perfect score when she had A VISIBLE HOP.

UK, UB- Didn’t see who went first but she arched a handstand and then stuck cold a full twisting DLO!!!

Boren, UF, UB- Hit everything including a double layout with a hop to bring her feet together.

7:22 pm. Baker, UF, UB- Hit everything including double front with a hop.

7:13 pm. Green, ISU, UB- Great bars set capped off with an awesome stuck double layout!

7:13 pm. McMurtry, UF, VT- FTY, little hop back.

7:12 pm. Stuart, UK, VT- FTY, great, step back.

7:11 pm. Baker, UK, VT- Big Yurchenko 1.5, hop forward. Form is mostly good.

7:10 pm. Dukes, UK, VT- Yurchenko half, not very big, barely looks like she gets it over the table. Two steps forward.

7:09 pm. Boren, UF, VT- Yurchenko 1.5 with a huge rebound forward. Body form is WAY loose too.

7:08 pm. Rosa, UK, VT- Shoutout to the frat boy douche bag in the front row raising his shirt up on one side exposing his right nipple YOU’RE SOOOOO COOL BRO. #NOHOMO Rosa’s FTY has just some slight leg sep before she lands.

7:06 pm. Hyland, UK, VT- FTY, step back, good block. Clean.

Sloan, UF, VT- Clean and beautifully stuck.

7:05 pm. Pearsall, ISU, UB- Leg sep on blind change into the piked Jaeger. Hit the rest of the routine.

7:04 pm. Caquatto VT- Clean FTY, good distance! Slight bounce back.

Coca VT- Big FTY, a little loose.

7:02 pm. Fassbender VT- FTY, a bit piked

Beucler VT- FTY, not bad. Slight step back.

7:01 pm. Okay, I have both the Florida and the Kentucky meets up. I’ll do what I can from both! Florida hosts North Carolina and Kentucky hosts Iowa State.

7:00 pm. I’ll be with you all in just a few! Happy Friday!

  1. Lauren! Do you know what happened to McKinzey Martinez from Utah? She only got a 6.200 on bars, last up, and it seems like Arkansas’ last girl hasn’t gone yet!

    • ok nevermind, as I was typing this, she just did vault. Didn’t get a huge score, but she did vault so I assume she’s fine. Arkansas ended up just putting 5 on vault

  2. The Florida sarcasm on this blog was a little hard to take. The specifics of the meet could have been reported without it. This is the first time I’ve been put off by something published on this website.

    • Sorry, I was sick with the flu and a 100+ degree fever for a week and wasn’t in the mood for their judging shenanigans at all. It’s nothing to do with the girls, but when a routine gets a 10 with a hop, I mean, PLEASE. Their judges are terrible and should be sanctioned.
