The SEC is somewhat weirdly splintered tonight, with a couple of ‘regular’ meets but then also a couple of randoms.
No. 5 Florida is traveling to No. 14 Georgia, and I’m secretly hoping the Gymdogs have a superb meet and manage to upset the Gators, while No. 7 Alabama will host No. 9 Kentucky, which should be an interesting one. The two teams have kind of flip-flopped this season with Kentucky starting off in the top five and dropping over the weeks while Bama has worked its way up, and so I think barring any mistakes, this one will go to the host team.
The top SEC school, No. 4 LSU, will compete at a quad meet at No. 20 Missouri along with fellow SEC rival No. 8 Arkansas and EAGL’s No. 21 George Washington, while No. 16 Auburn will host No. 51 Rutgers, and outside of Friday Night Heights, we’ll see No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 12 Nebraska at the Perfect 10 Challenge in neutral Oklahoma City, No. 10 Denver will face off against No. 19 BYU and No. 35 Southern Utah, and No. 15 Boise State will host No. 36 Utah State.
On Saturday, the Pac 12 meet-ups include No. 11 Oregon State hosting No. 24 Arizona, No. 13 Washington at No. 17 Arizona State (where the Sun Devils will hope to get back in winning mode), and No. 23 Cal at No. 25 Stanford, while No. 5 Michigan will compete at No. 29 NC State along with No. 34 North Carolina and No. 64 Brown.
We wrap up the weekend on Sunday with the meet of the week, as No. 2 UCLA hosts No. 3 Utah. The two Pac 12 teams are just half a tenth apart in the rankings, with the Bruins overtaking the Red Rocks last week. Utah will have good reason to bring their A game after a few missteps in the past couple of meets, but UCLA has been on fire this season and will be tough to take down, especially at home.
LSU is also fighting to get back into the top three after both UCLA and Utah took over, and they’ll have a second chance to improve their ranking this weekend after Friday’s quad. On Sunday, they’ll host D2 squad No. 55 Texas Woman’s in what’ll be an easy, no-pressure win where the focus can be on nothing but reaching for the best score they possibly can.
Finally, kicking off week eight is a Monday night meet where No. 34 North Carolina will host No. 64 Brown.
The full schedule is below. All times listed are ET, the first team listed is the host team, and we’ll update any links as they are updated on each program’s schedule. Once the meet is finished, we’ll add results. Enjoy!
