It’s so nice to see the scores! I was wondering about the choice of the gymnasts, but when you have the scores, it makes total sense.
Was really rooting for JaFree Scott, though. Didn’t pay much attention to her before, but her gymnastics is BEAUTIFUL.
The US team has some amazing gymnasts coming up!

Did Gabby Perea water down her bar routine? Because while a score like that is good, it won’t contend for a medal.

She was injured last year, and to me it looks like she hit a growth spurt, so maybe she’s just been adjusting.

I love the fact that we actually get to see videos and scores of verification meets! Impressed by how much progress Sunisa Lee has made, and also love how Twin City Twisters manages to produce amazing seniors out of nowhere.

USAG posted the results with start values and execution scores, but has since removed it. Do you have a copy and could you please post it.

Sadiqua Bynum did these too at UCLA! Looks so cool.

I wonder if Maile O’Keefe peaked during her junior years. I’d expect more than fifth from a junior of her caliber.

I hope not but I would certainly not be surprised. She was one of the 10 year olds throwing big skills already and has been on the elite scene for ages. Could be another case of burning out early.

Is Maile okay? It looks like she had a fall on bars. Her balance beam score honestly looks like it could either be from a fall or just a typical day

I think she’s just adjusting to the added mental pressure of being a senior. It’s still really early in the season so she has lots of room to improve so that she hopefully peaks at the right time for Nationals and Worlds. Part of me also thinks she needs her bars routine tweaked a little, it seems to be a bit awkward for her.

I hope so. I’m hoping that she was also trying out new skills. Mainly worried just because of what happened after American Cup. SUPER excited to see her at Pac Rims, though!

Where did Grace McCallum come from??? Wow..she just beat the world AA champ. She just turned senior rhis year. I really enjoy her clean gymnastics..way to go Twin City Twisters. Another maggie Nichols? She has to be pumped…

Also Grace is training the Amanar and if that happens she would probably beat lots of girls to go to worlds. I just love this. Great coaching!

I have to say, floor isn’t looking too good right now. However, Simone is coming back as well as Ragan and Jade. No one else seems to have TF worthy scores yet, however it’s still March and I could see Morgan Hurd or someone else stepping up.

Claudia Fragapane won FX bronze at Worlds with a score below 14.
Those floor scores don’t seem to low to me given how early on in the season it is.
13.500s are the new 15.

No. The new 15 is about 14.2~14.3. I’m just waiting Simone to break the 15s on Floor.

Claudia won bronze after Ragan and Larisa got injured. Morgan is fully capable of getting at least 13.8-14 if she controls her landings.
Ragan, Simone, Emma, Jade, and Morgan qre capable of this if mentally there

why didn’t usa gymnastics post the videos of morgan hurd on their youtube channel? if anyone knows why or if there are videos of her at the camp please let me know

She didn’t sign the release. Gymnasts have to sign a release allowing USA Gymnastics to post videos of them at camp and she (and many others) didn’t want them to.

do you know why they wouldn’t want videos to be shown of them at camp? is it just for privacy or if they don’t want people to see their upgrades or routines?
LikeLike
Yeah, mostly for privacy especially if they’re not ready to show their routines publicly just yet. Also some might fall at camp or have a rough routine as they try out new upgrades and they prob don’t want to get 1000 tweets from people being like “YOU NEED TO CHANGE THIS SKILL TO ANOTHER ONE” or whatever which is what happened after the last camp hahaha.

Why no seniors from Texas Dreams at this verification?

Do you have any insight on why most of the scores are a lot lower than expected? Were there a lot of falls from Morgan and maile? Is gabby competing watered down routines?

I love Marz Frazier but this shows exactly the problem. She’s a good all arounder but she doesn’t have a stand out event and her all around isn’t as strong to challenge the top 3. She didn’t place in the top 3 in any events unlike everybody else.

Also, I personally find her gymnastics difficult but not clean. I wish she could clean it up so that she could really be medal worthy in the future
LikeLike
Yeah, I think she could be kind of like a Maggie Nichols this quad in terms of being on a team, someone who might not be a top 3 gymnast on any event but who can put up a solid score on all of them!

Where was Riley? Is she injured again?!

I don’t think she’s injured as she was just at the last verification camp. I think she and her coach are trying to take it easy and NOT get injured again before the peak of the season.

I also had one question for You Asked, Gymternet Answered. When he first resigned, I heard (I don’t remember where) that there was a possibility he would return to the position once the dust settled. Is there any chance of him coming back? I know there are many gymnastics (McKenzie, Katelyn) who had negative experiences with him, but this is not a John Geddert situation, and it’s my understanding that he was outstanding with DEVO girls and had changed quite a bit since stepping into role as DEVO/NT Coordinator. Thanks.
