NCAA Week 10 Preview and Schedule

We’re two months into the 2019 college gymnastics season, and my, does time fly quickly?!

Week ten kicks off early with what should be a super close match between Maryland (No. 34) and George Washington (No. 35) on Monday, UIC (No. 33) travels to Western Michigan (No. 50) on Tuesday, and on Thursday, Boise State (No. 11) will host MRGC rival BYU (No. 16) in what should be a fantastic one to watch, with these two teams consistently putting up some of the strongest gymnastics in the country this season.

Our conferences are all over the place this weekend, which should spice things up and take us out of our comfort zones. On Friday, several top teams, including Georgia (No. 6) and Minnesota (No. 10), will compete at an Elevate the Stage podium meet that also includes Arkansas (No. 20) and Michigan State (No. 39). Also that evening, Florida (No. 3) hosts Penn State (No. 25), LSU (No. 4) hosts Oregon State (No. 15), and Kentucky (No. 12) hosts Central Michigan (No. 37), while California (No. 14) will compete at San Jose State (No. 53).

Top-ranked Oklahoma will travel to Michigan (No. 7) for what should promise to be a don’t-miss meet of the week on Saturday, which will also see a second Elevate the Stage meet between state and SEC rivals Alabama (No. 9) and Auburn (No. 13) on neutral ground.

On Sunday, UCLA (No. 2) hosts Pac 12 rival Stanford (No. 24) and Denver (No. 6) will host a quad meet featuring Nebraska (No. 18), Arizona State (No. 21), and Pittsburgh (No. 42).

This weekend is also the regional competition for the NCGA East and WIAC conferences, with the meets at Cortland in the east and at Stout in the west acting as determiners for the Division III teams that will qualify to NCGA Championships later this month. Competition has been tight this season, but right now Brockport and Ithaca look like locks in the east, with Springfield the likely third team to join them, while Wisconsin teams Stout and La Crosse have been killing it in the west this season, but I also wouldn’t count out Oshkosh, Whitewater, or Hamline, which last season went from ranked second-to-last in the WIAC to earning a nationals berth, finishing fourth.

The full schedule for week ten is below. All times listed are ET, the first team listed is the host team, and we’ll update any links as they are updated on each program’s schedule. Once the meet is finished, we’ll add the results. Enjoy!
