Daniela Silivas is more excited about watching old meets than she was about her medals
I promised everyone a million times that I’d do some live blogs of meets of yore during the COVID-19 death of our sport, and I’m finally finding it in myself to block out a chunk of time to get this done. I went through a bunch of YouTube videos to find full broadcasts of meets I haven’t seen but really want to. The selection and order are a bit random, but I hope you enjoy going on this journey with me and that it helps us discover – or rediscover! – some faves.
All times listed above are ET. I tried to vary them so they can fit multiple people’s schedules (assuming you’re working or going to school from home), but obviously you can always pop back in and read the blogs while watching the videos on your own time! Each meet links to a YouTube video with a full broadcast, and note that some dates have multiple meets or parts of meets listed because why not?
Also, pretty much all meets are WAG, unless they also have a MAG component (like the 1976 American Cup), just because I don’t know as much about MAG and feel like these blogs wouldn’t be all that great, but maybe in the future I can attempt to do this.
I’m going to try to figure out a better live-blogging platform to embed on this blog so there would be a better opportunity for some sort of live chat, so hopefully that will work out as well. See you tomorrow for our first watch party!

Thank you! I may have to change some of the times due to work but hoping it’ll give people a chance to tune in for a few!

This is a great planning! But what about the 1987 world championships? It was a really exciting competition, both the team finals and the AA. You should add it 🙂

I can only do so many! I’ve personally already seen 1987 worlds though it’s one I’d like to see again. I could only do 12 for now so I went with ones I haven’t seen before but maybe will add that one to re-watch in the future.
