Looks like Grace competed only beam.

4:10 pm. That’ll about do it for this meet! They’ll do awards on the stream so I’ll update you then. It was kinda nice watching and not worrying about scores, leaders, etc…but also it’s a sports meet so we need to know these things!?

4:07 pm. Mya Witte FX: Double tuck, very nice! Triple full, awesome. Just a step back. Hit her leap series. 2.5 after that, also good. Tour jeté half. Double pike, ugh, a little forward on the landing, and when she pulls back to stand it up, she falls backwards. So good until then!

4:06 pm. Elle Mueller BB: Switch leap, small adjustment on the side aerial loso, little wobble on the punch front, split jump to straddle jump, good. Switch half, little wobble again. Most of her wobbles have been very small and easily corrected. Double tuck, great position on the landing, small step back.

4:04 pm. Kayla DiCello UB: Stalder full to Chow to Tkachev, very nice. Blind change to piked Jaeger, super clean. Church, Pak to van Leeuwen, slow and steady! Tiny hop on the full-out dismount.

4:02 pm. Kara Eaker FX: Feed is mostly buffering but we’ll give it a shot. Whip to…something. We’ll never know. Caught it again on her 2.5 to front layout, really low into the layout, goes long almost like a front whip haha, but keeps it upright! That’s all we saw of this.

4:01 pm. Anya Pilgrim UB: Looks like she went for a front inbar half, feet clear for a second but then it turns into a toe-on, still really cool, toe full to Chow to Pak, nice, short handstand before the Maloney to Tkachev, a tiny bit low but good. Toe half, and a double pike with a bounce in place.

Karis German BB: I missed most of this but she hit! Big double tuck dismount.

3:59 pm. Faith Torrez FX: Tucked full-in, step back. Omg, she has the DAY BOW BOW music from the 80s in this, I’m dying. Wish I could tell you more of what she was doing but this feed is a mess.

3:58 pm. Kaylen Morgan BB: I came into this a little late but saw some wolf turns, a side somi, and a transverse jump go well, also hit a bhs loso. Split leap to front aerial to split jump, little bobble and some leg form from this angle. Side aerial, swings her leg through as if she wants to connect to the switch half, but stops instead and does the leap separately. Also doesn’t connect to the switch half, but does the switch half to a wolf jump. Layout dismount, small hop.

3:56 pm. Suni Lee UB: Nabieva to Bhardwaj, good, van Leeuwen, nice handstand out of it, blind half to piked Jaeger to Pak to Maloney to Gienger, another great handstand before the blind full, and a tiny hop on the full-in. Like it was easy!

3:55 pm. JaFree Scott FX: Double layout, to her knees unfortunately. Good double pike after. Memmel to full turn. Switch ring is nice. A bit low on the last pass. I missed a bunch due to the stream freezing.

3:53 pm. Katelyn Rosen UB: Weiler kip, looks like she was going for a half, but hops off before the turn. Stalder to Maloney to Tkachev, nice there. Ray to Pak, low on the Pak but no problems catching. Also some leg sep there. Blind full to low double layout, big step forward.

3:51 pm. Temple Landry BB: Candle mount, double wolf turn, front aerial, solid. Switch to split ring jump. Good bhs loso. Big wobble on the side aerial but good fight to control it. 1.5 dismount, small hop back.

Alonna Kratzer FX: Big step out of the front double full. High double tuck, little bobble. Feed Is going in and out on this one.

3:49 pm Jamison Sears VT: Didn’t see what it was but great landing.

Skye Blakely BB: Great standing full! Front handspring to front tuck. Switch to switch half, not to split, to back tuck. Front aerial to split jump to straddle jump, nice. Double tuck, a bit cowboyed on the second flip, step to the side.

Lexi Zeiss UB: Saw that she arched over in a handstand and had to come off.

3:46 pm. Ciena Alipio UB: Stalder full, Maloney to Pak, legs apart, van Leeuwen, toe half to piked Jaeger, double tuck dismount.

Leanne Wong FX: Double double, good! Hop to the side. Whip to triple full, pretty good in the air and on the landing! Lovely 2.5 to front full. Stumbles back the double pike OOB and sits it. UGH, it was going so well.

Addison Fatta VT: Huge DTY! Step back.

3:45 pm. Hailey Klein VT: FTY with a small step back.

3:44 pm. Going into rotation four!

3:37 pm. Kara Eaker BB: Switch leap mount to switch side. Full Y turn to full turn, quick connection. Little bobble. Front aerial, split ring jump, front leg is low but her whole angle is forward. Side aerial loso loso, solid. Sissone + split leap + side somi, great. Switch to switch half to Korbut. Switch ring, gets the shape and split, but back foot flexed. Double full, solid!

3:35 pm. Faith Torrez BB: Barani, just pops right off. Sad face. Nails the standing full, though! Side aerial loso, good, dances back out of it. Switch to switch half to back tuck, super solid! Transverse split jump half, connects it to a straddle jump half, great. Full turn. Without the fall her score would be HUGE. Good double pike dismount, just a step back.

3:32 pm. JaFree Scott BB: Switch leap to split jump. Front handspring to front tuck, good, just a little wobble. Full Y turn, pretty at the start, just wobbles out of it. Front aerial, also a wobble there. Sissone to split leap, pauses before the side aerial, she moves so elegantly on everything! Double full, some crossed ankles and a step to the side.

3:31 pm. Floor seems to be back now but bars is still stuck on Kaylen Morgan mid swing hahaha. Hopefully we get it for next rotation…

3:30 pm. Jamison Sears FX: Front tuck through to double tuck, really good! Think this was her second pass. Good double pike, step to the side. Great job on what I saw!

3:26 pm. Alonna Kratzer BB: Double wolf turn, gets wild, almost grabs the beam but doesn’t. Transverse straddle jump half, flexed feet. Side aerial back tuck, just doesn’t get her hips where she needs them and falls. Switch leap to split leap. Solid punch front! Switch half. Double pike is a bit low, big step forward.

3:25 pm. Bars and floor feeds came back for a second but are still mostly a mess. They’re on Kaylen Morgan for bars and it looks like Addison Fatta for floor.

3:23 pm. Leanne Wong BB: Switch leap to wolf jump full, side aerial loso, solid. Full L turn, pause into the full turn, wobbles and grabs the beam. Switch ring. Front aerial to split jump to split ring jump, angled on the split. Side somi and transverse straddle jump half, both good. Triple full dismount, slightly underrotated.

3:21 pm. Skye Blakely UB: Toe full, arched and rushed, Chow half, toe half to piked Jaeger, good, Downie, also great, lost the feed after this.

Anya Pilgrim VT: Clean FTY.

3:19 pm. Mya Witte BB: Bhs bhs layout, awesome! Little adjustment but so solid with her feet. Front aerial, pause going into the side aerial to split jump, but clean on both. Onodi, break at the hips, but saves it from falling. Full turn. Small step on the double pike dismount. She doesn’t look super thrilled but it was good work!

Katelyn Rosen VT: Yurchenko 1.5, tucks her legs a little near the end, big step.

Lost the UB and FX feeds BTW.

3:18 pm. Lexi Zeiss VT: Yurchenko 1.5, big step back but good save from sitting it!

Ava Siegfeldt FX: I missed her first pass, front tuck through to double tuck for the second, a little short with a bounce forward. Feed froze after that. 🙂

3:15 pm. Moving on, third rotation!

3:12 pm. Faith Torrez UB: Toe full, Maloney to huuuuge Tkachev, yes! Pak, went a little far, some leg sep, but catches, van Leeuwen, some leg sep there too, blind change to piked Jaeger, a little rushed, needs to point the toes, double layout goes a bit low and long, big step forward, keeps it upright.

3:10 pm. Suni Lee FX: Double layout, excellent landing. Layout for her second pass. Double (I think) L turn to full turn, then a 1.5 to front full. Triple and double wolf turns. Layout last pass. Looks like she’s just testing the waters being out on floor again, but good work!

Addison Fatta BB: Solid wolf turns at the start. Good bhs loso. Front aerial to split jump to straddle jump. Side aerial. Hit the dismount.

3:07 pm. Katelyn Rosen FX: Double layout, some knee form, but solid landing. Arabian double front, pulls chest forward on the landing to keep it from going back. Hit routine!

Hailey Klein BB: Solid side aerial loso loso! Punch front a little deep but solid as well. Feed froze for me after that.

JaFree Scott UB: Feed froze here as well just as she was falling, I missed the release though. Caught it again when she was dismounting, double layout with a big step forward.

3:05 pm. Lexi Zeiss FX: 1.5 through to double full, some crossed ankles but good landing. Switch half. Solid double pike, small step back. Triple wolf turn also good. Front handspring front full.

Kaylen Morgan VT: Only saw the landing, think she did an FTY, but the landing was fine!

Alonna Kratzer UB: Wasn’t typing but saw she hit!

3:04 pm. Ciena Alipio FX: I saw her double pike, double tuck, and layout passes, all hit. Just a bit downgraded.

Skylar Draser BB: Just saw her double tuck dismount, she looks happy though!

3:03 pm. Grace McCallum walked down the vault runway toward the vault after Temple Landry’s (I think Temple did an FTY), but then the camera went off of her. Believe she touched the table to scratch based on what camera guy was saying.

3:00 pm. Mya Witte UB: Scratch

Leanne Wong UB: Toe full to Maloney to Pak, nice, to van Leeuwen, some leg separation there, stalder half to straddle Jaeger, Ray dismount! The first flip was great, just a little piked down/some leg form on the second.

2:59 pm. Ele Mueller VT: Yurchenko 1.5, a bit low on the landing, but looked mostly clean in the air.

Skye Blakely VT: DTY, nice in the air, big lunge back.

Jamison Sears BB: I missed this

Anya Pilgrim FX: I missed this

2:57 pm. Karis German VT: FTY, step back.

Kara Eaker UB: Shang, nice! Church to pak, really solid. Khorkina back up to the high bar, blind full, toe half to piked Jaeger, high stuck double layout.

2:53 pm. Grace is warming up vault but they’re turning the camera away from her on her attempts, showing everyone else.

2:51 pm. I didn’t hear any music while the floor cam was off so thinking maybe Grace didn’t compete it. Floor feed is back up. Grace is in the vault warm-up group so I assume she’s doing this!

2:48 pm. Katelyn Rosen BB: Bhs loso loso, clean, just a little wobble at the end, adjusts and gets back to it. Little weird stumble out of her full turn, clean solid side aerial to split jump to sissone, switch to switch half to Korbut, legs maybe a tiny bit short on the latter, front aerial, tour jeté half, Onodi, this thing is packed! Double pike, legs apart, but lands it well!

2:47 pm. Long wait for Katelyn Rosen to go on beam…wish I could get results for you!

2:46 pm. The floor feed just turned off prior to Grace McCallum’s routine, so I’m assuming if she’s going, it’s a secret, aka she requested her routines to not be shown.

2:43 pm. Temple Landry FX: Double wolf turn. Cool little sideways roll out of it. Double pike, large step back. double tuck, wild on the landing. Had a nice switch ring in her leap series. Transverse split jump half. Front aerial

Lexi Zeiss BB: Hit a wolf turn at the beginning. Little wobble on the bhs loso. Switch to switch half, wobble but good fight. Front aerial and side aerial, both landed well, and hit her jump series. 1.5 dismount.

2:39 pm. Skye Blakely FX: Double layout, a little open with her leg form, step back OOB. Switch ring to tour jeté half. Tucked full-in with a large-ish hop back. Double wolf turn. Hit the third pass. Split full. Good double pike, landed with feet apart. 1.5 to front full, some soft legs.

Hailey Klein UB: Caught a Jaeger but off on a release after that, I didn’t see what. Caught a van Leeuwen. Double layout I think for the dismount.

Ciena Alipio BB: Super solid side aerial loso loso. Also hit the layout series, no problem. Switch to switch half, side somi, transverse split jump half, front aerial to split jump to straddle jump, only minor form deductions on these, nothing severe. Nice transverse straddle jump half. Just a layout dismount. Lovely!

2:37 pm. Elle Mueller FX: Good full-in to start, then a 2.5 with a hop forward. Hit the last pass.

Kayla DiCello BB: Candle mount, love how she gets herself into position for her triple wolf turn, solid, then also clean on the double. Side aerial, pause into a leap. Front aerial, pause into the jump. Slight check at the end of her flight series. Hit a transverse jump. Double tuck, really low chest and a step back.

Skylar Draser UB: Hit everything I saw, double tuck dismount.

JaFree Scott VT: Clean and nearly stuck FTY.

2:36 pm. There are no live results that I can see, by the way. The live stream is only putting up the E scores hahahaha.

2:33 pm. Anya Pilgrim BB: Side aerial to back tuck, a little iffy on the landing. Full turn. I missed some things in there but she stayed on for all. Double tuck, a little deep.

Ava Siegfeldt UB: Ray to Pak, Couldn’t see her feet on her pirouette but toe full maybe? Maloney to Gienger, REALLY low unfortunately and reaches for it but just taps her fingers on the bar. Hit the rest.

Leanne Wong VT: DTY, not bad, chest down and a couple steps.

2:32 pm. Karis German FX: Nails the double double, a little soft in the full-twisting double layout. Front full through to double tuck, solid, I’d call it a stick. Full-in, almost stuck! Excellent tumbling.

Jamison Sears UB: Hit routine! Looks happy with it.

Mya Witte VT: Good FTY, just a step back.

2:31 pm. Kara Eaker VT: Yurchenko 1.5 but tucks her knees throughout, looks very mad.

2:28 pm. Sunisa Lee BB: Gets the triple and double wolf turns, good! Front aerial to split jump to back handspring. Switch ring to split leap, switch to switch half to split ring jump, all solid and clean. Side aerial loso loso, NAILED IT! Just a layout dismount, but a queen!

Kaylen Morgan FX: Stuck the arabian double front. Hit her second and third passes.

Addison Fatta UB: Nice full pirouette to Pak, also hit a double layout dismount. Pretty sure she caught everything in between, I saw a Gienger at one point.

Faith Torrez VT: FTY with a big lunge back, but happy she’s back from her injury in warm-ups at Winter Cup!

2:27 pm. Start list for the first rotation!

  1. It’s ridiculous that USAG insists on giving Flo rights when the streams are this jacked up. I don’t nor will I ever pay for a Flo subscription, but based on live blogs I’ve never seen a single case where the stream has actually worked properly.

  3. The stream from a certain company was awful almost the entire time WHO COULD HAVE PREDICTED THAT oh wait anyone who knows them

  4. At this point I’m starting to worry about Grace. She’s not even a favorite of mine gymnastically, tbh, but she seems like a sweet kid and it would be a real shame if she couldn’t even contend for Tokyo.

    • Apparently she just had surgery 12 weeks ago. Maybe I’ll eat my words but I feel like the Amanar/Cheng are dream skills at this point. But who knows, maybe she’ll surprise us.

  5. I don’t really get why Grace won’t let people see her routines but still decided to attend the meet? Like, you’re either ready or you’re not and if you’re not shouldn’t you stay home? I guess her coaches know better than I do, but still it just doesn’t really make sense to me lol

    • I assume she wanted the competitive experience but without people judging her online. American Classic used to be a private meet where most gymnasts would go to try to qualify for nationals, but those already qualified would use it as a prep/test meet. I think they liked that privacy and don’t like that their one “private” meet is now public. I’m glad they have the option.

  6. I just want to give a shout out the fierce- no, not just fierce, the ferocious queen Lauren who is live blogging her ass off for us today. Yes bitch werk! i love you.

  7. I saw Suni’s bar routine. Why did she split her legs on her Nab? I didnt understand that. I saw her floor as well, why was she limping off of the floor after? Her ankle seemed to be in pain?

  8. Yo, I’ve never seen an American Classic (er…neither have most people for that matter) but this competition looked pretty messy from my untrained point of view. Would you say that 1 month from GK Classic and 3 months from Trials, this competition looked about normal? Or did anything seem off to you?
