The Best Men’s Scores So Far in 2021

Zhang Boheng

As a follow-up to our best WAG scores post, here’s every top score for the men so far in 2021!

We’ve seen a total of 1,320 all-around performances, as well as 2,082 floor scores, 2,174 pommels scores, 2,061 rings scores, 1,978 vault scores, 2,061 parallel bars scores, and 2,024 high bar scores, in addition to 412 two-vault attempts that get averaged for an event final (or qualification into a final).

Below, find a list of the top all-around and event scores thus far, as well as the top D scores for each event. An asterisk (*) next to the name denotes a junior competitor, and I’ve removed bonus from all domestic meets to keep things as accurate as possible. As a note, we only include juniors in the two-vault averages or D-score combos if they’re competing vaults from two different families, and if a competition uses bonuses but their score sheets don’t differentiate those bonuses from the totals, we don’t include those scores in our database.

  1. Zou Jingyuan a 16.466 on parallel bars?!?!?! How on earth did he get such a high score? Can we expect a score as high as that in an international meet as well?

    Like

    • Yes! He tends to get around a 9.0+ in his E score and I think from what I last saw from him internationally, his D scores end up around a 7.0, so a 16+ is definitely achievable internationally. In the 2018 worlds p-bars final he had a 16.433 with a 7.0 D and 9.433 E…he’s just that good!

    • I think he is…the Chinese and Japanese guys all have really high home scores but I think some are a little inflated. Based on what I’ve actually seen I think Nagornyy is THE ONE, especially if he hits everything the way he’s capable of. The Russian MAG team, on the other hand…I’m a bit scared because of Dalaloyan.

      • I thought so to. I just hope he doesn’t injure himself doing those crazy tricks on his IG lol
Do you have any news on Yulo from Philippines? I don’t see him in any recent comps

        Like

        • Hahaha ME TOO! Yulo has been training in Japan and has done a few events at some of the Japanese meets…I think most recently just p-bars.
