*Just noting that Biles’ AA score of 59.300 is with USAG judges valuing the Yurchenko double pike at a 6.4 when the international consensus is that it will be a 6.2, in which case her score would be a 59.100.

7:23 pm. Suni Lee BB: Super solid triple wolf turn. Clean front aerial to split jump to back handspring. Switch leap to switch half to split ring jump, fabulous. Side aerial to loso loso, started to go crooked halfway through and fell at the end, ughhh. Tucked gainer full off the end. 13.250

7:21 pm. Katelyn Jong FX: Double double, hop back. tucked full-in, also a hop back there. Dance series went well enough. Good 1.5 to front full. Shuffle back on the double pike. 13.150

7:20 pm. Simone Biles UB: Weiler half to Maloney (leg sep) to blind full to huge piked Tkachev to Pak, great handstand before the van Leeuwen (clean!), gets the toe full to a stuck full-in!!!! Yesssss! 14.350

7:19 pm. Kaliya Lincoln VT: Yurchenko double, lost leg form at the very end but was overall super powerful and nice! 14.100

7:17 pm. Jordan Chiles UB: Toe full to piked Tkachev to Pak, nice! Maloney to Gienger, nice form and shape there. Caught a Jaeger after. Bail to toe shoot, full-in with a hop forward. This was kinda great. 14.200

Amelia Disidore BB: Clean layout stepout mount. I missed basically all of the rest but think she hit it all? 13.300

Shilese Jones FX: Triple wolf turn, lovely. Strong double double. Front full through to double tuck. Full-in with a hop back. 13.850

Levi Jung-Ruivivar VT: Really nice Yurchenko 1.5! Small step. 13.400

7:15 pm. Kayla DiCello VT: Yurchenko double, some knee form, good landing. 14.000

7:13 pm. Skye Blakely VT: Yurchenko double, huge, clean, and STUCK!!!! 14.350

I didn’t see her second vault. Averages a 14.225.

Zoe Miller UB: Inbar full, muscles it and falls out of it, doesn’t come off though. Regroups and tries again, inbar…only gets it halfway around again and this time she comes off. Back on for a Chow half, toe half to straddle Jaeger, Downie to Pak, van Leeuwen, and a double layout dismount, leg separation but landed well. 11.000

Eveylynn Lowe BB: Off on her layout series. 12.350

Nola Matthews FX: Strong full-in. Hit the second pass. Double tuck to finish. 13.400

7:10 pm. Touch for the second and final half of the night!

7:08 pm. Marissa Neal BB: Saw her hit the flight series and an aerial, over rotated the full L turn, side somi was good, and she hit the dismount. 13.000

7:06 pm. Myli Lew UB: Stalder full was great, to Maloney to Pak to stalder to Chow to Gienger, LOVE! That was so nice. Toe half to piked Jaeger. Double layout is super clean, step back. That was fab and she got SO much applause! 13.900

7:04 pm. Dulcy Caylor UB: Toe full is great, to Maloney to Pak. Van Leeuwen went well, stalder, blind change to front giant to big straddle Jaeger, looks like she has it but then falls. Ugh. Hit the double layout. 12.000

Charlotte Booth BB: Saw the switch leap to jump series and side aerial, nice on all of that. Double full with a hop back. 12.500

7:03 pm. Michelle Pineda FX: 2.5 to front pike, lovely. 1.5 to front full. Clean double pike. 12.400

Ashlee Sullivan VT: Yurchenko full, didn’t see specifics but looked solid enough. 13.200

Kelise Woolford VT: Yurchenko full, not a ton of power and some slight form things, but lands it, OOB. 12.450

7:00 pm. Joscelyn Roberson UB: Clear hip half to Ezhova, late on the low bar pirouette, Maloney to Pak, toe shoot, clear hip to toe-on to double layout, small hop forward. Good! Didn’t see her do a same-bar release but nice that they prioritize her hitting instead of doing skills that are hard for her. Or I could have missed it. 11.800

Madray Johnson VT: Yurchenko 1.5, some knee form and a little deep, hop. 13.550

Jade Carey BB: Nailed the flight series. Off on a jump. Double tuck was good. 12.150

6:57 pm. Addison Fatta VT: Strong Yurchenko double with a hop back. 13.850

Second vault for Fatta is a Lopez, some form in the air and maybe a little short but she lands it well enough. Averages a 13.400.

Tiana Sumanasekera UB: Stalder full arches over and she comes off. Back on for the full, still not great but gets it, Maloney to Pak, van Leeuwen is a bit weak and crooked, but turns it around at the last second, blind change to front giant to straddle Jaeger, high full-in with a step. 11.550

Alicia Zhou BB: Wasn’t typing but saw almost all of this and it was lovely! 12.600

Leanne Wong FX: Kind of wonky at the end of the double wolf turn. Double double with a hop back. Double layout, really iffy landing, kinda deep and steps back OOB. Whip half to front full, good. GREAT double pike. 13.350

6:54 pm. Here is the order for the final rotation!

6:49 pm. Kayla DiCello FX: Had a music blunder at the start so she had to wait. Double double, nice! A little short but solid. Split jump full. 1.5 to front full, great. Switch ring to tour jeté half. Double pike is high and clean, hop back. Good work! 13.500

6:45 pm. Skye Blakely FX: Double double, step back. Strong double layout, step back. Switch ring to tour jeté half, not super controlled but hit well enough. Switch full. Front tuck through to double tuck, cowboyed a bit in the second flip and she lands a bit under-rotated with a step forward. 12.900

Kelise Woolford FX: Double tuck to start. Front tuck through to double full, some leg form. 2.5, leg form and a little stumble. 12.150

6:41 pm. Marissa Neal UB: Maloney to Bhardwaj, some leg form there, van Leeuwen, also some leg form, clear hip half to straddle Jaeger, good height. Had to take an extra swing after. Toe full, toe-on to full-in with a hop to the side. 12.350

6:40 pm. Zoe Miller VT: Yurchenko 1.5, almost had the landing but then ended up stumbling back a bit. 13.150

6:37 pm. Dulcy Caylor VT: Yurchenko double, sliiiightly soft knees to be picky, but good overall. Step back. 13.900

Charlotte Booth UB: Ray to mixed grip to Ezhova, yay! Maloney to Pak, slight leg separation. Van Leeuwen. Blind full and a double layout dismount with a hop forward. 13.100

Michelle Pineda BB: I missed a lot of the beginning. Switch to sissone was fine. Hit the side aerial. Double full dismount, some leg form. 12.700

Ashlee Sullivan FX: First pass went OOB. GREAT double layout in her second pass. Hit the double tuck. Double pike with a bounce on the landing. 13.100

Myli Lew VT: Clean Yurchenko full with a bit of a bounce in place. 13.150

6:34 pm. Touch for the second half!

6:32 pm. Madray Johnson FX: Tucked full-in, somewhat deep, not bad. 1.5 to front full. Double tuck.

6:27 pm. Leanne Wong BB: Wasn’t typing at the beginning but she hit the opening series into the wolf jump full. Bhs loso is solid. Full L turn to pirouette. Front aerial to split jump to straddle jump, maybe a hair short on the jumps? 2.5, a little low and long, hop forward. 13.750

Addison Fatta FX: Hit the first pass, something through to a double tuck, probably the 2.5? I didn’t see the entry. A little deep on the double layout after. Front double full with a big step forward. 12.200

6:25 pm. Joscelyn Roberson VT: Cheng, soft legs in the air, but pretty upright and solid on the landing, small hop. 14.650

Second vault for Roberson is the Yurchenko double, leg form is more noticeable here but again the landing is solid enough. Averages a 14.325

6:23 pm. Katelyn Jong BB: Think I saw her hit the standing full? Sadly off on the standing loso to loso. Hit the double pike dismount. 11.850

Kaliya Lincoln FX: Really strong double double and double layout! Good on her leap pass. Front full through to double tuck to finish IIRC? Amazing routine. 14.350

Jade Carey UB: Ray, blind change to Ezhova, I wasn’t typing, hit everything else, had a Bhardwaj, full-in…nothing majorly wrong here, just general form issues. 12.050

Tiana Sumanasekera VT: Great Yurchenko double! 14.200

6:21 pm. Alicia Zhou UB: Deep inbar to stalder full to Maloney to Pak to toe-on to van Leeuwen, FABULOUS! Toe half to straddle Jaeger, stuck the full-in!!! WOW. This was phenomenal. So gorgeous to watch. 13.800

Simone Biles VT: Cheng for her second vault, big hop back but was brilliant in the air. Averaged a 15.300

6:18 pm. Jordan Chiles VT: Yurchenko double came down like a dart! 14.300

Amelia Disidore UB: Wasn’t typing, but this was a hit routine! Strong double layout dismount. 12.550

Shilese Jones BB: Switch leap mount to switch half, great conection. Standing arabian was strong, maybe the tiniest bit deep. Bhs bhs layout, comes up short and grabs the beam. Steady on the side aerial and full turn. Big switch leap to sissone. Small step on the double pike. 13.450

Levi Jung-Ruivivar FX: Didn’t see her first pass but her second was a 1.5 to front full, put her hand down sadly. Double tuck to finish. 10.550

Simone Biles VT: Yurchenko double pike with the tiniest step. I mean, it’s f–king perfect. She got a standing ovation from some people. 15.700 (her E score was 9.8!!!!!!!)

6:17 pm. Touch should be wrapping up shortly!

6:15 pm. Here are the lineups for the third rotation!

Screen Shot 2023-08-25 at 6.06.50 PM

4. Leanne Wong 28.250
5. Katelyn Jong 27.900
6. Jade Carey 27.300
7. Amelia Disidore 27.200
8. Lexi Zeiss 27.150

6:11 pm. Kelise Woolford BB: Got the wolf turn around well. Clean and solid bhs loso. Front aerial to split jump to straddle jump, good. Switch leap is a little slow to the switch half, which doesn’t quite make it to 180. Good side somi, adjusts a second after landing it though. 2.5, some leg form, sits it, ughhhh.

6:08 pm. Dulcy Caylor FX: Good tucked full-in. Dobule pike, clean in the air, hop back. Memmel turn. 1.5 to front full, step into arabesque but the step takes her OOB. Double tuck, high and clean, great landing. 12.900

6:06 pm. Ashlee Sullivan BB: Candle mount. Double wolf turn. Standing arabian, little check but gets it! Bhs loso loso, came up short and buckled on the first loso landing and really didn’t have a chance at getting the second one to hit. Front aerial to jump series. Strong double pike, step back. 12.200

6:03 pm. Madray Johnson BB: Bhs loso loso, good! The rest was hit, had a big double tuck dismount. 13.500

Joscelyn Roberson FX: Moors, some form in the air but good on the landing. Hit the full-twisting double layout well. Front full through to double tuck, bounces back OOB. Great landing on the front layout through to double pike! 13.300

Charlotte Booth VT: Yurchenko 1.5, mostly tight in the air, great landing, small hop. 13.600

6:02 pm. Leanne Wong UB: Clear hip half to straddle Jaeger, nice height. Toe full to Bhardwaj, some leg form, Maloney to Pak, clean, van Leeuwen, stuck the double layout dismount. LEANNE! 14.000

5:59 pm. Alicia Zhou VT: Yurchenko full, some pike, hop back. 13.200

Katelyn Jong UB: Good handstand before the inbar full, arched over a bit, to Chow to Pak, some leg separation, to van Leeuwen, more leg separation, inbar to inbar half to straddle Jaeger, good, if a bit far, stalder to full-in, a little crooked but good landing! 14.050

Addison Fatta BB: Bhs loso was strong. Wasn’t typing but she hit the rest! 13.000

Tiana Sumanasekera FX: Really clean double tuck. Switch ring to switch full. Front layout to front double full. Double pike with a slight hop back. 13.150

Jade Carey VT: Cheng, block was sadly WILD, not great in the air or on the landing either. Bit rough there. Couldn’t see if her hand went down but it was very close. 13.950

Also did a Yurchenko double, still some form in the air but much better on ALL accounts than the Cheng. Averaged a 13.975.

5:58 pm. Touch for the second half!

5:54 pm. Simone Biles FX: Full-twisting double layout, strong landing. This looks MUCH better as her first pass compared to where it was in her classics routine! It looked a bit labored there, I think as her second or third pass? Front full through to double double, CASUAL? Hit her leap pass, then a Biles, big step forward OOB. Switch full. Finishes with a Double layout, hop back. 14.800

5:52 pm. Kaliya Lincoln BB: Double wolf turn, not bad! Bhs layout, solid! Front aerial, pause, split jump to straddle jump. Switch, little wobble, doesn’t connect to the switch half. Good side aerial. Strong double pike, step back. 13.250

5:49 pm. Levi Jung-Ruivivar BB: Got the wolf turn around. Big wobble on the flight series but had a great fight through it. Switch leap to split leap, always love her leaps. Hit the front aerial to split jump. Got the dismount. 12.300

Jordan Chiles FX: Strong 1.5 through to full-in! Double layout, maybe a little low in her set, but not bad, hopped back. Front layout through to double tuck, a few steps back OOB, and a double pike to finish, maybe a little short, but I’ll chalk that up to endurance. 13.100

Shilese Jones UB: Stalder full to Chow to Tkachev, nice. Toe full to Downie to Pak, slight leg form on the latter. For the dismount she had a front giant to double front, cowboyed but stuck!! 14.900!

5:48 pm. Lexi Zeiss UB: Toe full to van Leeuwen, some form, Ezhova, some ankles there, good handstand before I think a shaposh to Pak IIRC, Maloney to Gienger, a little low but gets it. Strong full-in dismount. 13.700

5:45 pm. Zoe Miller FX: Strong double layout to start. Hit the full-in and double full after. Double tuck ended up low, looked like she put her hand down but I couldn’t see if it actually touched the mat, bars is blocking me for that corner, sorry! 11.800

Kayla DiCello BB: Had a wobble on the tour jeté half I tihnk it was? Bhs loso loso with a wobble as well. Short on the switch half, and a wobble again. Front aerial doesn’t connect to the jump series. Ughhh, sat the double pike. 11.700

Suni Lee VT: Strong and clean Yurchenko full! 13.350

5:43 pm. Amelia Disidore VT: Super high Yurchenko double! Twisted fast, mostly clean, good landing. 13.600

Nola Matthews UB: Straddle Jaeger, nice handstand before the Ricna, Pak is clean, good toe full Into the van Leeuwen, but she didn’t get the lift she needed there, bent her knees and couldn’t reach the high bar. Back on and does it again, gets it no problem this time, stalder, and a dobule layout, deep with a hop. 12.400

5:40 pm. Marissa Neal VT: Big Yurchenko 1.5! 13.600

Michelle Pineda UB: Toe half to piked Jaeger, good. Toe full to Pak, toe shoot, blind change to her dismount, hit! 12.800

Skye Blakely BB: Triple wolf turn got a bit wild and she had to stand up out of it. Nailed the standing full, though! A step forward on the front series. Good switch to switch half to back tuck. Got the front aerial to split jump to back handspring. Side aerial. Small step on the double pike dismount. Good recovery after the wolf drama! 14.050

Myli Lew FX: Hit the first pass and then a 1.5 to front full. Double full to finish with some form and a big hop back. 12.100

Eveylynn Lowe VT: Yurchenko 1.5, some soft form but great landing! 13.750

5:34 pm. Madray Johnson UB: Stalder full to Maloney to Pak, some leg separation, to toe-on to van Leeuwen, some legs again, but nice series! Toe half to straddle Jaeger, good. High clean double tuck with a step back. 12.900

5:29 pm. Addison Fatta UB: Big piked Jaeger, then a Church to Pak, nice! Maloney to Gienger, some hip form, double layout, first flip was a little piked but she straightened it up. 13.350

Tiana Sumanasekera BB: Candle mount. Bhs bhs layout, awesome! Front aerial to split jump to Korbut. Had a split ring jump and then a clean jump series, full turn, slight check. Double pike, small step back. 13.850

Alicia Zhou FX: Clean double pike, hop back. Good 1.5 to front full. Switch ring to tour jeté half. Clean double tuck, but a really deep landing there. 12.700

5:26 pm. Simone Biles BB: Hit the mount with a wobble and an OOH from the crowd. Switch to switch half to back pike, good! Hit the wolf turn and jumps. Super strong bhs loso loso! Big full-in dismount. 14.450

Kaliya Lincoln UB: Stalder full, a little late. Stopped typing after that but she hit everything! Van Leeuwen went a little crooked, really clean double tuck. 12.800

Amelia Disidore FX: Didn’t see her opening pass but she hit, then a full-in. Good double pike, small hop back. 13.350

5:25 pm. Katelyn Jong VT: Yurchenko double, not super powerful but not bad either! Small bounce back. 13.850

5:23 pm. Jordan Chiles BB: bhs loso loso, good! Otherwise looked good, had a couple of wobbles, Including on the side aerial, but nothing major? Double pike with a hop back. 13.000

Levi Jung-Ruivivar UB: Caught her first release, then a stalder to Ricna to Pak, nice! van Leeuwen form was a bit all over the place but she caught! Full-in went a little crooked and underrotated, put her hands down sadly. 12.000

Eveylynn Lowe FX: Big arabian double front, ran out of it. Switch ring. Hit the next couple of passes, ending was a double tuck. 12.700

Shilese Jones VT: Strong Yurchenko double! HUGE, too. 14.350

5:22 pm. Lexi Zeiss VT: Yurchenko 1.5, some knee form, but a solid landing! 13.450

5:20 pm. Touch for the second half!

5:15 pm. Zoe Miller BB: Bhs loso loso, actually looked like her foot wobbled on the first loso landing but didn’t affect her. Front aerial to split jump to back tuck, nice. Switch to switch half, not close to 180. Side aerial with a slight adjustment. Cross straight jump full. Lovely flexibility hold before her ending choreo. Dismounts with a double pike, chest down and a step forward. 13.050

5:13 pm. Myli Lew BB: Nice leap series to back tuck. Nice series into the Korbut as well. Good wolf turn. Bhs loso, nice extension, has a wobble where her leg comes up though. Side aerial, small step back. Just a layout dismount, step back, she’s lovely to watch, this would have been so good without those wobbles! 13.050

5:11 pm. Marissa Neal FX: Really nice arabian double front in the air, just too far forward on the landing and takes a big step. Tucked full-in with a slight hop. Good 2.5 and then a double tuck to finish. 12.900

Kayla DiCello UB: Toe full, gets stuck halfway around and comes off. Gets it the second time to Maloney to clear hip to Church, big piked Jaeger, Pak, some leg separation, great handstand before the van Leeuwen, pretty clean work there, and a strong full-in to finish. Really great routine, WILD that she had to have that mistake at the very beginning. 12.300

5:07 pm. Charlotte Booth FX: Front double full with a step forward. 2.5 ends up a bit short and she has a big stumble forward, not sure if she put her hands down. Split ring leap was nice. Landed the double tuck. 12.500

Nola Matthews VT: Clean Yurchenko full with a big hop back. 13.150

Dulcy Caylor BB: Love her mount. She hit everything I saw but was really deep on the 2.5 dismount, knee almost to the mat but saved it. 12.200

Skye Blakely UB: Stalder half to a kind of low piked Jaeger, Downie to Pak, nice. Toe full to van Leeuwen, toe half to front giant to double front half-out with a small bounce. WOO! 14.400

5:06 pm. Kelise Woolford UB: Went for a toe full but muscled it and only got it halfway around, restarted and then dia a Maloney to Pak, van Leeuwen, some body line and leg deductions, big straddle Jaeger, stalder, and a full-in dismount. 12.350

Michelle Pineda VT: Yurchenko 1.5, I didn’t see much of it but she landed it. 13.550

5:03 pm. Ashlee Sullivan UB: Had a Maloney to Tkachev, blind full, and double layout dismount. 12.950

Leanne Wong VT: Really strong Yurchenko double! 14.250

Does a Lopez for her second vault, big bounce back but not bad otherwise! Think she averaged a 14.075.

Jade Carey FX: Moors and then a double double! Amazing. Front layout through to double pike, and then the double tuck at the end was a bit short, but damn, her tumbling is back! 13.350

Joscelyn Roberson BB: Standing full, casual! Chest maybe a little low. Had a wobble on a series after that but hit the side aerial loso loso! Hit her jump series. Strong double pike dismount. 13.200

5:02 pm. Here’s the rotation one start list!

  1. Jades tumbling ISNT BACK. It was good, but her double double lay was more piked than I have ever seen her and looked hard for her. And her struggle on double tucks. And dont get me started on her allege improved artistry.

  2. Your worlds team is right there at the top. Simone, Shilese, Skye, Leanne, Jordan. Difficulty, artistry, experience. Love Jade but her tumbling isn’t back and the artistry isn’t there. Suni might be ready for next year but she isn’t there health wise yet. Shilese, Leanne and Skye/Simone are more than enough for bars.

Alternate- Suni or Joscelyn Roberson. Our worlds team is right there.

    • Kind of agree. Leanne could go either way for me, since she’s not really a top 3 anywhere, but she’s so solid across all four, and I think that’s really important and useful so I’d love for her to make it again.

      • Leanne is incomparable with her form. I’d love to see her make if. She’s worked so hard. I hope she can get away from the Florida universities considering what governor I hate Mickey Mouse is trying to do to schools. She deserves better.

    • I feel like this evening leaves open a possibility of Kaliya Lincoln making worlds as it seems we have a floor hole more so than a vault or bars hole. The top three on Bars should make the team. Shi, Leanne and Skye all have clean, competent DTYs you could put in finals with Simone and get acceptable vault scores. but the drop off on floor after Shi’s 3rd place was HUGE and the difference between Kaliya’s floor and anybody else with a shot of making the world team was almost a full point.
