WAG VAULT FINAL

9:04 am. Protistha Samanta IND VT: Tsuk layout full, lots of form in the knees, pikes down quite a bit, and lands very short with her chest down. 12.700 (4.4, 8.300)

9:01 am. Touch for the second half is underway!

8:57 am. Lia Monica Fontaine CAN VT: Yurchenko double full, massive, gorgeous, almost stuck. Small bounce in place and her chest is slightly forward, but this was next-level compared to everything we’ve seen so far. 14.000 (5.0, 9.000)

Next up is a Yurchenko half-on front layout half, gorgeous again, medium hop back but her form is so so so good. 13.600 (4.8, 8.800)

8:54 am. Ruby Stacey ENG VT: Only does a Yurchenko full today! It looked a lot cleaner than the 1.5 has. VERY clean tbh. Almost flares the landing. Big hop back and OOB. 12.700 (4.2, 8.600, -0.1 ND)

Goes for a Yurchenko half-on front tuck and sits it. Looked nice, just landed it too far back on her heels. 11.300 (3.8, 7.500)

8:51 am. Abigail Martin ENG VT: Yurchenko double full, looked a bit better than it did in the all-around comp yesterday. Just more power and control, and the twisting looks a lot cleaner?! Still some crossed ankles in the second twist though. 13.766 (5.0, 8.766)

She follows that up with a Yurchenko half-on front layout half, really excellent block, mostly nice in the air, almost flares it before landing, big hop back. 13.433 (4.8, 8.633)

8:47 am. Abigail Roper WAL VT: Yurchenko double full. And it’s really nice! Some soft knees in the second twist and she has a hop back, but overall this is strong. 13.766 (5.0, 8.766)

Second vault is a Yurchenko half-on front tuck half which looked very strong. 12.700 (4.0, 8.700)

8:33 am. Joshua Nathan ENG FX: Double front, hop forward. Front double full, minor form, big step forward. Good double full, hops his heels together. 2.5 to front layout, leg form in the layout and a hop forward. Double pike, chest a bit forward and a hop back. 12.766 (4.8, 7.966)

8:30 am. Daniel McLean RSA FX: All I wanted from quals was for this guy to make this final. I’m so happy! Beautiful randi down the side. Clean double front, small hop. Front double full, small hop. Lovely double full down the side. Double pike, small hop. Bouncy in his landings today which will hurt him, but still nice work. 12.933 (4.5, 8.433)

8:27 am. René Cournoyer CAN FX: Front full to a lovely piked double front, small bounce. 2.5 to front layout, another tiny hop. Russians and Japanese press. Double double, some leg form right before landing and he’s a little short there but not bad. Lil Y scale because Y not! Full-in with a small bounce. 13.966 (5.1, 8.866)

8:23 am. Luke Whitehouse ENG FX: Big triple back, tiny bounce. Front double full to double front, sticks it! Punch randi, some form in the air, hop to the side. Piked double front, small hop to the side. Triple full down the side, some ankle form. Double double, chest a little low and a small hop but this will be big! 14.566 (6.1, 8.466)

8:17 am. Reuben Ward SCO FX: Great front double full to double front! Punches into a randi and sticks it. Triple full down the side, small hop back. 2.5 to front layout. Oh no, goes for a double pike in the last pass, lands it a bit short, and the floor launches him wildly up into the airIand lays it flat out on the ground. OOF. He laughs about it. 12.900 (5.3, 7.900, -0.3)

8:12 am. Félix Dolci CAN FX: Stuck the front full to piked double front! 2.5 to double front, noooo, comes out a little short from the 2.5 and sits the latter. Triple full down the side, hop. Japanese press. Stuck the double double. Leans a little in the Y scale. Clean, flared, stuck double pike. Another near-perfect set marred by one pass that went awry. 13.233 (5.3, 7.833, +0.1 B)

8:09 am. James Hardy AUS FX: Front full to double front, step forward OOB. Piked double front with a hop forward. Clean stuck double full down the side. Japanese press. Y scale goes well. Beautiful 2.5 to stuck front layout! Arabian double front with a tiny hop forward. Mostly gorgeous work! 13.433 (5.0, 8.633, -0.2 ND)

He’s filing an inquiry on his D score to challenge his penalty. We’ll see if anything changes! Nope, they keep both penalty tenths in his score. I don’t know where the second one came from!

8:07 am. Muhammad Sharul Aimy MAS FX: Clean in the front full to double front, but comes up slightly short on his heels and sits it. Front double full to front layout goes well. 2.5 down the side, stuck. Russians. 1.5 down the side, easy, clean, and stuck. Arabian double front, also stuck. WHAT a routine, the first pass is even more devastating now! 12.566 (4.8, 7.666, +0.1 B)
