6. Cooper Kim 163.736
7. Taylor Burkhart 163.736
8. David Shamah 161.316

7:04 pm. Brandon Dang PH: Scissors to circles, moves to the single pommel for Russians, gets through them so smoothly, Sohn, legs come apart after but brings it back under control, travels in Russians, then forward and backward in circles, legs a little crazy on the push into the dismount but he gets it! Great hit. He had to wait like 3 hours to do this one routine, wild.

7:02 pm. Sasha Bogonosiuk FX: Stuck the 2.5 to front layout! That’s where I jumped in on this routine. Full-in at the end, hands down. Ugh.

Xander Hong SR: Didn’t watch most of this but he peeled off super early into the dismount and had to kind of whip around a double tuck, oof.

7:01 pm. Shane Wiskus PB: Front pike to handstand, Makuts was clean, underswings go nicely to handstands, straddle front, Bhavsar, looking really controlled so far! Tippelt was so smooth. Double front with a small hop forward.

6:59 pm. Alexandru Nitache HB: Tak half, big Liukin, clean Cassina, Kolman had some leg separation, stalder, triple back stuck!! This was great.

Colt Walker SR: Hit what I saw at the beginning, I think planche, then pike sit to planche, handstand after that was a little shaky but brought it under control, piked and tucked saltos to handstand with some arch over, wild legs in the dismount and has a big stumble there.

6:56 pm. Yul Moldauer FX: Opens with a front full to double front, a bit cowboyed, big lunge forward. Randi with a small hop. Stuck the triple full down the side. Love his flair work always. Stuck the 2.5 to front layout! Slips on the arabian double front half at the end, big lunge to control it, OOB.

Joshua Karnes PB: Wild handstand on one full pirouette, leaned a bit to the side but got it back under control. Tippelt had a minor adjustment going to handstand and he hit the double front with a good landing.

6:55 pm. Cooper Kim SR: Front pike to pike sit, rolls through to pike sit, press to handstand, pikes to tucks to handstand, has to muscle it up slightly, wild landing on the double double dismount but keeps it on his feet.

6:53 pm. Fred Richard VT: Handspring double front, jumps forward out of that probably eight feet, truly wild landing.

6:51 pm. Nathan Roman FX: Nice piked double front! Small hop forward. Randi hit well. Triple full down the side, slightly short but not bad. 2.5 to front layout. Good hit on the front double full.

Taylor Burkhart SR: Front pike to iron cross was nice. Saltos to handstand arched over a bit, next handstand also had some fight in it, but got through it and hit the dismount.

Danila Leykin PB: Had a noticeable leg form break on one pirouette that I saw and another slight adjustment, hit the dismount with a small hop.

6:49 pm. Fuzzy Benas FX: Front full to double front, hop. Double double, stuck! Double full down the side was really short, hop forward. 2.5 to front layout and a clean double pike to finish, small hop back.

Jun Iwai SR: Wasn’t typing or watching closely but hit routine!

Crew Bold PB: Underswing quarter I think at the start, had a few hand adjustments on a full pirouette after, otherwise good I think, hit the double front dismount.

6:43 pm. Rotation 11 Standings

1. Fred Richard 156.515
2. Shane Wiskus 153.109
3. Danila Leykin 151.938
4. Cooper Kim 151.436
5. Yul Moldauer 150.896
6. Taylor Burkhart 149.886
7. Joshua Karnes 149.794
8. David Shamah 148.166

6:40 pm. David Ramirez FX: Double front and double layout both pretty solid. Double full down the side is stuck. 2.5 to front layout, very clean and stuck! couldn’t see what he did for the last pass but hit the landing well.

6:39 pm. Yul Moldauer HB: Endo, Tak full right to handstand, Zou Li Min, Tak half, slightly short but not bad, Kolman, hop full, one-arm giant, full-twisting double layout stuck!

6:37 pm. Fred Richard SR: Planche with some hip adjustments, down to maltese, swing through to maltese, front pikes to handstand, arches over a bit, back giant to handstand, little adjustments again there. Double double layout with a hop back.

6:36 pm. Cooper Kim PH: Couldn’t see most of this because (a) no glasses and (b) camera in my direct view point but loved the flair work, transitioned well to circles, got the dismount around well.

6:35 pm. Taylor Burkhart PH: REALLY gorg for most of his flair work. Great extension and height. Nearly the entire routine is flaired! Love that. Really rushes up into the dismount and flies through the pirouette but mostly good work.

Shane Wiskus VT: Kas 1.5, big hop forward but mostly good in the air!

6:33 pm. Landon Simpson FX: Front full to double front, big lunge back. 2.5to front layout, a bit arched but hit. Think a double full down the side, last pass went awry, sat it.

Joshua Karnes VT: Kas full I think, form was a bit weak in the air and he crashes the landing.

Nathan Roman HB: Zou Li Min, Tak half, good! Kolman with minor leg separation, straddle Tkachev, stalder, double double layout, flared and stuck!

6:30 pm. Danila Leykin VT: Yurchenko 2.5, form in the pre-flight and most of the flight is EXCELLENT, slight knee bend as he comes in for the landing and he’s also a tiny bit crooked but nearly sticks it.

Jun Iwai PH: I didn’t see most of this but think it was a hit.

Fuzzy Benas HB: Tak half, Cassina, I missed a couple things after that, caught back at the one-arm giant, hop full, Rybalko, triple back dismount.

6:28 pm. David Shamah PH: Lots of scissor elements early on into the circles, moving well so far, travels in Russians, then circles into the dismount, legs come apart and he has a bit of a struggle, doesn’t get it around, has to remount and repeat. Remounts and gets it around this time.

Kameron Nelson VT: Handspring randi to start, looked good in the air to me, crossed ankles but pretty straight knees, hop back. Second vault for him is a handspring double front, big hop forward.

6:21 pm. Rotation 10 Standings

1. Fred Richard 142.610
2. Shane Wiskus 139.459
3. Cooper Kim 138.536
4. Yul Moldauer 137.796
5. Danila Leykin 137.788
6. Joshua Karnes 136.973
7. Taylor Burkhart 136.586
8. David Shamah 135.766

6:18 pm. Justin Park HB: Kovacs, straddle Tkkachev, hop full, double double layout with a step back, good work!

Yul Moldauer PB: Underswing to handstand, then with a half turn, Healy, Diamidov, 1.5 pirouette and Makuts with a half turn out, going SO quickly but I feel like I got everything, tucked front half salto, sticks the double front half! Great set.

6:15 pm. Nicolas Kuebler FX: I think started with a front full to double front, then into piked double front, big hop forward there. 2.5 down the side, small hop. Finished with a clean double pike.

Fred Richard PH: Scissors to handstand on the single pommel down to circles, moves to the single pommel for circles and Russians, then back to both, Russians between the pommels go well, travels then moves into flairs to travel, mostly good so far, back to circles, pushes up into the dismount and has some leg form breaks in the pirouette but gets through it!

6:14 pm. Hasan Aydogdu HB: hit both Tkachev releases, hop full, stalder, stuck the dismount, great routine!

6:12 pm. Cooper Kim FX: Punch Randi down the side, then front double full to double front, a bit low, hops his heels together. Clean double layout, tries to stick but chest pulls forward and he has a bounce. Clean 2.5 to front layout, little bobble. Double pike clean but slightly short, hop forward.

Joshua Karnes SR: Hit everything I saw, looked like he stuck the…double double layout dismount I think!

6:05 pm. Okay according to Tim Daggett the scoring system is down.

6:04 pm. Big delay in the arena right now for every guy waiting to go, I have no idea why. Cooper Kim waiting for floor, Josh Karnes for rings, people are doing the wave, it’s not a commercial break, what’s the holdup peopleeee?

5:58 pm. Michael Jaroh SR: Planche, pike sit with a roll through to piked saltos to handstands, adjusts a bit, back giant to handstand is good! Sticks the double double.

Poor Landon Simpson has had a couple of hard falls on high bar just now.

5:57 pm. Taylor Burkhart FX: Piked double front and front double full to double front both go well, minor landing faults. 2.5 to front layout down the side is stuck! Hop back on the double double. Good!

5:55 pm. Danila Leykin SR: Straddle sit, swings through to pike sit, then pulls up and down to iron cross, front giants into the piked and tucked saltos to handstand, minor adjustments throughout. Back giant to handstand, double double, small hop.

5:54 pm. Fuzzy Benas PB: Hit everything I saw with no major flaws, double front half looked stuck! Or like a slight foot movement.

Jun Iwai FX: Front double full to double front, small hop. Double double layout also good. Randi down the side is solid. Sticks the 2.5 to front layout, clean double pike, small hop.

5:52 pm. Kameron Nelson SR: Maltese, inverted cross, swings through to planche, back giant to handstand was a little shaky but gets it under control, out to inverted cross, then down to iron cross, good! Front to handstand, triple back, cowboyed but just a small hop, good chest position.

5:50 pm. David Shamah FX: Gorgeous piked double front half. Front layout to front double full, small hop. Strong front full to double front. Dismounts with a Arabian double front half, almost stuck, maybe moves a heel. Gorg routine.

Brian Solomon VT: Didn’t see what he did but looked almost stuck! Tiny hop.

5:48 pm. Shane Wiskus SR: Wasn’t typing but he hit everything I saw at the beginning, I would say the angle in the maltese is noticeably off, but good routine overall, stuck the double double dismount!

5:45 pm. Rotation 9 Standings

1. Fred Richard 127.947
2. Danila Leykin 125.288
3. Shane Wiskus 124.957
4. Cooper Kim 124.736
5. Joshua Karnes 122.921
6. Yul Moldauer 122.678
7. Taylor Burkhart 122.586
8. David Shamah 121.716

5:39 pm. Cooper Kim HB: Tak full right to handstand, to layout Gienger to Endo, Zou Li Min, Tak half also great handstand to the layout Jaeger, Kolman right to Def to Endo, I love this set so much! Gets the double double layout, I think a stick!

5:35 pm. Taylor Burkhart HB: Cassina, stalder Tkachev, that was really nice, layout Tkachev, Rybaklo was a bit rushed and finished late, then he misses the catch on the full-twisting Jaeger I fear. Tries it again and gets it to Endo half, then hop full and triple back with hops forward. UGH that fall.

5:34 pm. Jun Iwai HB: Gets the Cassina and Kolman, Tak half is clean, straddle Tkachev, stalder, hop full, double double layout, hop back.

5:32 pm. Danila Leykin PH: Scissors with the twist into the circles, good. Good work on the single pommel, Russians, then into flairs, great hip height, travels in flairs, BEAUTIFUL swing up into the dismount, WOW. This was so satisfying.

5:29 pm. Stephen Nedoroscik PH: Scissors to circles to Russians on the single handle, moves well to both handles, Sohn looks good but legs come apart after, moves into circles, then Russians on the horse, travels in circles and one of his hands slips down the side of the horse, hard crash there. He needs his glasses! He can’t see without his glasses! Girl SAME. Remounts and finishes well.

5:26 pm. Shane Wiskus PH: Scissors to circles on both pommels, moves well between the two, hips drop a couple times but not bad, Russians on the single pommel, easy into the dismount, maybe leg adjustments to keep from going wild but gets through it.

5:24 pm. Fred Richard FX: Front layout to piked double front, REALLY deep landing, big hop back. Idk how he saved that tbh. Double twisting double layout. 2.5 to front layout down the side. Full-twisting double layout. Think arabian double front half to finish? I missed the entry.

Yul Moldauer VT: Kas 1.5, I looked away for half a second and missed the landing.

Alex Noel VT: Kas 1.5, big stumble back.

5:19 pm. Rotation 8 Standings

1. Fred Richard 113.789
2. Shane Wiskus 111.557
3. Danila Leykin 110.786
4. Yul Moldauer 28.305
5. Taylor Burkhart 109.834
6. Joshua Karnes 109.258
7. Cooper Kim 109.168
8. David Shamah 108.416

5:15 pm. Taylor Burkhart PB: Front pike to handstand is clean, Makuts with a little pause on the single rail, straddle front, Bhavsar, pike sit pressed to handstand, clean and steady. Tippelt was smooth. Double pike, small hop. Lovely work!

5:13 pm. Danila Leykin FX: Full-twisting double layout, hands down, NOOOO. Front double full to double front, a bit cowboyed, sits it. Flairs and air flairs. 2.5 to front layout down the side. Triple full, small hop. Y scale isn’t bad. Clean double pike, almost sticks that. Bummer routine though.

5:10 pm. Zaiden Kyte HB: Had a layout Tkachev and straddle Tkachev, hit the dismount.

Crew Bold FX: Front full to double front, pretty good landing I think? Small hp p back on the double double. Piked arabian double front, good! 2.5 to front layout I think after that. I didn’t see the last pass.

Jun Iwai PB: Hit routine, small hop back on the double front half dismount.

Patty Hoopes PB: Scissors to circles, Russians on the single pommel, Sohn, all going super well so far, travels go well, minor hip form there that he didn’t have previously, I forgive him, presses up into the handstand for the dismount and it goes mostly well, maybe a little muscle to get through it but no major breaks.

5:08 pm. Hit routine from David Shamah on p-bars just now.

5:06 pm. Kameron Nelson FX: Massive piked triple back, minor leg separation in the air, step back. Then a tucked triple back, his shape is kinda ambiguous? It’s like fully piked in the first flip and I thought for a second that he was doing the triple pike again lol. 2.5 to front layout down the side. Hit the front full to double front and double layout full-out well, small hops back on both.

Saw a couple of sits on vault this rotation, I think from Garrett Schooley and Landon Simpson.

5:03 pm. I’ve missed most of the Stanford p-bars sets so far, I think Colt Walker just hit his and I’m pretty sure everything I saw from Cooper Kim was hit.

Shane Wiskus FX: Front double full to double front, a bit deep with a big hop back. Piked double front was stuck! 2.5 to front layout down the side. Small hop back on the double double. Double pike to finish, the open out was excellent and he stuck it.

5:00 pm. Fred Richard HB: Tak full with minor form, Tak half, slightest ankle separation, caught the Liukin with minor ankle form in the air, Cassina and Kolman caught as well and looked a bit cleaner, hop back on the double double layout dismount.

Joshua Karnes FX: Strong front full to double front, small hop. Front double full to front layout, good! 2.5 to punch front is good, think he hit the last pass from what I could see!

4:59 pm. I just missed the first few routines because Kensley had her baby up here for a sec and I had to go say hi, SHE IS VERY CUTE.

Okay I have to figure out where we are and what’s happening lol.

4:52 pm. Rotation 7 Standings

1. Danila Leykin 99.136
2. Fred Richard 98.784
3. Shane Wiskus 97.407
4. Taylor Burkhart 96.034
5. Cooper Kim 95.918
6. Yul Moldauer 95.673
7. Joshua Karnes 95.608
8. David Shamah 93.458

4:48 pm. Crew Bold HB: Good Tak full and Tak half, Kolman maybe a bit close, Cassina was lovely and floaty, really nice body line throughout, straddle Tkachev to Liukin HELLOOOOOO I’m deceased, hop full, double double layout, stuck.

4:46 pm. Kameron Nelson HB: I caught this from the Kolman, maybe some leg form? Tak full was pretty close to handstand, Tak half arched over a bit, inbar to one-arm giant, quick twists in the double double layout, hop back.

4:45 pm. Daniel Sanjuanico FX: Hit the full-in at the start, then a double front, deep, big step forward. Double full down the side, small hop. 2.5 to front layout, tucks his knees a bit in the latter. Double pike to finish with a couple of bounces back.

4:43 pm. Shane Wiskus HB: Strong Cassina and Kolman, layout Tkachev could’ve had a little more clearance but not bad I don’t think, Tak full was excellent, Zou Li Min, Tak half a bit later than he could’ve done it, stuck the double double layout dismount!

4:42 pm. Brian Solomon FX: Hit the first pass and then the piked double front was GORG. Front full down the side. 2.5 to front layout looked clean but kinda went high and close on the punch, still got it around, but deep with a hop. Double pike at the end looked clean but landed on his toes, hands down.

4:41 pm. Joshua Karnes HB: Gaylord II, good! Also great Cassina and Kolman. Double double layout dismount, arm wobble and a small hop.

Fred Richard PB: Had some minor ankle stuff on a couple of pirouettes but saltos looked good to me, great height on the straddle front especially, Tippelt could’ve been smoother but that’s being picky, stuck the double front.

Jun Iwai VT: Great landing on the Kas 1.5. Small hop.

4:40 pm. David Shamah VT: Handspring double front, pops forward out of the landing onto his hands, ugh, too much OOMPH for him.

4:38 pm. Michael Jaroh HB: Caught this from the Tak full, Tak half, stalder, hop on the dismount. Hit set!

This crowd is CRAZYYYYY. I’ve never seen a gymnastics meet this wild before, and MAG of all things? Maybe Romania 2017 for Euros when Marian Dragulescu did the vault final is the closest I’ve experienced.

Alexandru Nitache FX: He sat the piked double front early on. 2.5 looked nice, hop forward. Full-in at the end was a bit deep, hop forward.

4:36 pm. Cooper Kim and Nicolas Kuebler both hit vault, I think Kim had a Kas 1.5 and Kuebler with a Kas full?

Ori Reilly FX: Big step out of the 2.5. Just a layout down the side, that’s all I saw.

Colt Walker VT: Kas 1.5, big hop forward.

Yul Moldauer PH: Okay I can kinda see this. Scissors well into the circles, then transitions to flairs, nothing major that I can tell so far, back into circles into the dismount, gets it around well, a hit!

4:33 pm. Ty Herzing FX: Hit the first pass with a bounce forward. Front double full to barani, hit. That’s all I saw!

Taylor Burkhart VT: Yurchenko half-on front double full, had big leg separation going onto the table, cleaned it up a bit in the air but still not suepr tight.

Danila Leykin HB: Clean Cassina, blindc hange to front giants into the Gaylord II, gets the Kolman, people are going wild, hop full, this routine is so long, double double layout, stuck cold! People stood up and cheered for this.

4:29 pm. Touch warmups are underway! I think in the arena I’ll focus on vault, floor, and high bar since those are what I can see best?

4:23 pm. SOOOOO, I forgot my glasses at the hotel and I fear I am devastatingly unable to see anything lmao. I think I’m going to have the stream on whilst sitting here in the arena, but will also try to pick up on other moments in the arena as best I can – like I can see the apparatuses and probably make out skills but my judgment was already shady yesterday WITH glasses due to the angles we have up here in this media row here, I cannot guarantee anything I say will be super insightful.

Anyway, athletes have been introduced and the national anthem is underway! Let’s do this?
