1:39 pm. Touch warmups getting underway!
1:34 pm. Athletes are being introduced!
I feel like the U.S. and China are the teams to beat for gold assuming they hit, but the teams are so close that if they have bad days, gold – and the podium – won’t be a guarantee for either. If the U.S. wins it’ll be their eighth-straight worlds title and if China wins it’ll be their first title since 2006 so both are exciting for different reasons.
I do think Italy will find their way onto the podium, just a feeling. But I also hope the Russians do as well as they did in quals. I like rooting for a team of wee ones who have almost ZERO international experience. Japan also has tons of ground to make up from quals so I’d love to see them put a strong day together and get on the podium for the first time since 1966.
1:30 pm. Excited for the WAG team final! I’m watching on Peacock which will not show every routine but I’ll share scores for routines we don’t see. Live scores are on Longines!
If you missed qualifications, I wrote up a recap sharing what happened as well as my thoughts going into team finals to help you catch up.
The competition should be starting in a couple of minutes!
