Bailie Key has withdrawn from the 2014 Secret U.S. Classic, according to Texas Dreams.
The 15-year-old junior recently had a “minor arm procedure” and has elected to miss Classics in order to rest so she will be healthy for the P&G Championships later in August.
Key, widely recognized as the strongest junior competing for the United States, was expected to easily defend her all-around title at this year’s competition. Her absence will leave the top of the podium wide open, so we can expect a good battle from Nia Dennis, Norah Flatley, and the rest of the juniors who would otherwise struggle to beat Key.
