One purpose of the February national team camp was the selection and confirmation of gymnasts for several upcoming international assignments, including the three FIG World Cups (the American Cup in New Jersey on Saturday as well as the cups held in Stuttgart and Glasgow, both in March) as well as International Gymnix, held this weekend.
2012 Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas and 2015 two-time world medalist Maggie Nichols were confirmed to attend the American Cup, three-time world medalist MyKayla Skinner was confirmed for Glasgow, and three-time Pan American Games medalist Amelia Hundley was confirmed for Stuttgart, a spot originally meant for Nia Dennis, though she had to withdraw after rupturing her Achilles earlier this month.
While the International Gymnix meet will see both junior and senior level competitors, the U.S. will only send a junior team, featuring Jordan Chiles, Emma Malabuyo, Gabby Perea, and Deanne Soza. Chiles was the only junior national team gymnast who didn’t age up between 2015 and 2016, so Malabuyo, Perea, and Soza were all added to the team with the news of their assignments, as was Hundley. Though she did not receive an assignment, 2014 world medalist Ashton Locklear was also added to the team.
In addition to the assignment selections, Martha Karolyi used this month’s camp to determine the athletes invited to participate in the Jesolo selection camp scheduled for March 12-15.

What about Jazzy, Rachel Gowey, and Bailie?

Jazzy has a nagging injury and is using this time to keep things low key. I’m not sure about Gowey or Key but I know they’re not injured. Probably something similar to Jazzy.

Ok thanks for the reply! I got worried when I didn’t see her name on the roster for Gymnix, but then I remembered she’s not a junior anymore LOL…how time flies!

Do you know what gymnasts were invited to Jesolo? Will Bailie, Rachel, or Jazzy have the chance to be one that roster? I sure hope so!

No one has been officially named to the Jesolo camp yet, but Bailie, Rachel, and Jazzy should all still be in the mix.

Just read your “you asked, the gymternet answered” and I’m sorry for the repeat question, I just wasn’t sure how the comments on that worked/if you can reply to those? I was wondering if you know what Bailie’s “minor problem” is specifically and if it’s anything to worry about? I’m a huge fan and really want her to be healthy and able to go to Jesolo!
