Well this isn’t helpful to the German coach about who to put in AA finals. Ugh, poor Larisa tho. Only once has she really been heathy and done well at worlds and she still won’t get her time to shine at an olympic games. I hope she holds on for 2020, because I really need her to do well at the olympics and not be held back by injury… just once?

She has a bronze and a silver AA from world championships. In both cases, she was the best non-American in the world. That’s nothing to sneeze at. But I agree. It is heart breaking that her injury happened when it did.

For the Germans- Tabea Alt has not hit a floor set all month and is 4th best on bars. I’d use her only on beam and vault in quals. Bars and floor are the two events where Kim Bui is most useful, so that works out really nicely. Then Seitz, Schafer, and Scheder all do AA in quals. The three of them have been trading off all year and two of the three should easily qualify to the final.

Still no double front from Giulia I take it. She’s not going to win a medal at all, unfortunately, if her Rudi is getting 15.350 and her floor isn’t breaking 15. Still rooting for her hard though.

There’s no point in doing a double full at a friendly meet. Why take a huge risk like that and potentially re-injure yourself when the olympics are less than 2 weeks away, and there’s nothing really on the line? Also I’m pretty sure everybody in attendance watered down, and probably only competed to just get one last competition under their belts, get some nerves out of their system, not really for anything else.

She’s upgrading to a double full, not a double front.

Lisa Ecker is from Austria. Or did she somehow compete for Germany in this meet?

Did Larisa only do a FTY? That’s a really low score for a double.
