Morgan Hurd
Three months into the year, and things are heating up in our top scores race now that some big names are easing their way into the season, including 2017 world champion Morgan Hurd — who now leads the all-around rankings — and bars hero Nina Derwael, who not only has the top four scores for this season, but her score of 15.3 this weekend makes her the highest-scored bars gymnast this quad.
So far, we’ve seen 1,176 all-around performances, as well as 1,589 vault scores, 1,646 bars scores, 1,687 beam scores, and 1,638 floor scores, in addition to 311 two-vault attempts that get averaged for an event final (or qualification into a final).
Below, find a list of the top all-around and event scores thus far, as well as the top D scores for each event. An asterisk (*) next to the name denotes a junior competitor, and I’ve removed bonus from all domestic meets to keep things consistent. As a note, we only include juniors in the two-vault averages or D-score combos if they’re competing vaults from two different families, and if a competition uses bonuses but their score sheets don’t differentiate those bonuses from the totals, we don’t include those scores in our database.
For full lists of all scores this year, and to follow along between our monthly best score posts, check out our top scores spreadsheet. We update this religiously, after every single meet, so feel free to play around over there, sort the columns, whatever you feel like doing.
As a reminder, this is just a fun way to track the top range of scores in the all-around and on each event. Obviously every meet is scored at a different standard and it’s impossible to compare from meet to meet, but calm down — it’s nothing serious. We’re not predicting the next Olympic champion or electing the next leader of the free world. It’s just easier this way to see a range of scores that could be the goal gymnasts will be trying to reach at bigger international competitions.

I think you’ve missed a few things…Coline Devillard vaulted a double twist and tsuk Full at Doha, giving her a combined vault score of 10.2, not 10.6. Ulyana Perebinosova scored a 56.5 at the Moscow Championships, and scored a 14.7 on bars with a 6.3 D score, and a 14.4 on beam. Zubova scored a 15.2 on beam at the same competition, and Trykina
scored a 14.4. Also, Skrypnik scored a 14.2 on beam at the Southern Federal District Championships. The scores were probably super cracky, but they’re still scores and should probably be on the top scores list, no?

Sorry, saw this after I responded! It’s okay 🙂

Coline has a Rudi, not a DTY. She changed her DTY to a tsuk full and is planning on upgrading that eventually to a DTT.
My list only includes meets I’ve covered, and I generally don’t cover the regional competitions in Russia because the full results aren’t always officially available for them. The scores are mostly #fakenews but so are all of the Russian domestic meets so that’s not really an issue for me, but if I can get official results for these meets I’ll consider covering and including them.

Wasn’t Morgan Hurd credited with a 5.9 on beam at the American Cup?

Yup! She was on my list but I accidentally deleted her row.

That was with bonus. As said in the intro, I take out all domestic bonus if it’s listed in the results.

The greatest tragedy of this post is your contention that we’re not electing Morgan Hurd the next leader of the free world. *crying emoji*
