There’s really not much separating the top 4 floor scores if you take Morgans OOB into account. Should be an interesting final!

Tang Xijing only got credited with a 4.4 D. I have no idea how when she was going for 4.9

That tripe twist was credited as a 2 1/2, causing her real 2 1/2 to lose 0.4D entirely plus 0.1 connection value. This has been coming up repeatedly for a lot of top gymnasts this year, including Simakova, Chen Yile

This is why it’s always a good idea to do the 2 1/2 connection pass before the triple full in case the 2 1/2 gets graded

My guess:
In Euros she got 5.2D, for this time,
triple twist to two-and-a-half because not fully-around -> minus 0.1
Double ‘L’ to double turn because of leg position -> minus 0.2
Double ‘Y’ to single ‘Y’ -> minus 0.2
In the end she got 4.7

She did a double turn in forward attitude, not a double L turn… maybe the judges thought it was a simple double turn because of the strange leg position even though it was flawless.

I think her heels were ‘below horizontal’ so that it would be recognized as a double turn

What was their reasoning behind only doing one event per day? Am I misunderstanding?

There’s like, a weird team event that is multi-disciplinary where MAG, WAG, and rhythmic are all paired together and gymnasts are put on random teams to contend for the team title which is like…bizarre? I’m not really following that aspect of it and think one regular day of an all-around qualification would’ve sufficed, and they still could’ve counted all of those scores toward a fake team total. Right now the qualifications are taking about four hours per event, spread over four days, for 16 total hours. With just 35 gymnasts, they could’ve had one all-around qualification lasting two hours. I mean…at least everyone gets her chance to take the stage on her own in front of the crowd? But also like…16 hours of qualifications is insane.

Can we just take a look at the Irish girl….I mean wow! When was an Irish female gymnast ever one of the best? The men having been doing quite well for a few years but never the women. Bravo Emma Slevin!

I feel kind of bad for the german girl, she got the first reserve spot three times! Must be really frustating to be so close to making the finals on all events and then you end up with only one (and AA)

At least she got as far as she did! She was basically the fourth choice for this spot but then everyone got injured. I’m thrilled she had a great meet!! Def sucks that she’s reserve for so much but I’m just happy this went far better than I thought it would for her!
