6:56 pm. It’s now Russia, Japan, the United States, and Great Britain! Where will China fit in?

6:46 pm. Cunninghm GBR HB: Layout Tkachev, straddle Tkachev, Yamawaki, not the best HB worker but he’s doing just fine, DLO full with a great landing.

6:41 pm. Hall GBR HB: Cassina, Kovacs, both nice. Kolman, almost looked like he was gonna miss a hand. OOF, I missed what his next release was, but looked like it was caught in reverse grip and he just couldn’t grasp the bar, fall. 😦 Also almost misses a hand on a stoop element. Double double layout with a step.

Lodadio ITA FX: I started watching this but got distracted by James’ nonsense.

Russo ITA FX: God we lost wifi for some of this so I was dealing with THAT nonsense. Saw a nice double arabian. 2.5 with a step forward.

6:38 pm. Le VIE PH: Muscles up the press before his scissor elements. Off on what looked like a one-hand swing.

Edalli ITA FX: Full-in I think for his first. Hit the second as well.

Bevan GBR HB: Stoop half, awesome Kovacs, strong Kolman, Rybalko, stoop followed by a couple of front giants, hop full caught on his elbow basically and he has to retstart his swing. 😦 Layout double double, a little weak, hop.

6:35 pm. Sarrugerio ITA FX: Double layout, flared, little hop back. Good front layout to double front, little bounce forward. 1.5 to front layout I think. Punch Rudi. LOVELY arabian double front at the end.

Dinh VIE PH: Hit routine!

Fraser GBR HB: Cassina, Kolman, one-arm pirouette, way crooked on a pirouette after that. Stuck the layout double double COLD. A lot to deduct in there but the big stuff all looked impressive.

6:34 pm. Russia, Japan, Great Britain, and the U.S. is the new world order!

6:30 pm. Macchini ITA HB: Kolman, Kovacs, wrists are a little weird on both catches, but no real problems. Rybalko, can’t get a front giant over the bar and has to redo a swing, floaty near-stuck DLO full.

Cunningham GBR PH: Had one instance where he had to muscle up out of his elbows, but no big errors, double front dismount was good, chest a little down.

6:28 pm. Fraser GBR PB: Nice set, step on the double front half dismount.

Pham VIE FX: Hit the first pass then a 1.5 to barani. Double tuck with a hop back. Punches into a Rudi, a bit short there.

6:25 pm. Krasias CYP VT: Rudi I think, step on the landing.

Bevan GBR PB: Fab routine.

Le VIE FX: Punch double front, stumble forward. 2.5 to barani with a little hop. Double full, little hop. Rudi side pass. Triple to finish. Good work.

Edalli ITA HB: Caught it from the Yamawaki but think he caught a release before that. Two Tkachev variations after that, 1.5 pirouette was nice and quick, stalder, hop full, full-twisting double layout with a hop. Oof, jams his leg into the mat but seems okay, walking mostly normally.

6:24 pm. Phan VIE FX: Beginning looked good. Finished with a double full.

M. Georgiou CYP VT: Kaz full, step forward.

Russo ITA HB: Had a fall but I missed where. Straddle Tkachev, hop full, stalder, stuck the dismount.

6:23 pm. I. Georgiou CYP VT: DTY, good.

Hall GBR PB: Crushing it. Stuck double front half-out.

6:21 pm. Sarrugerio ITA HB: Hit routine from what I saw.

Kyriakou CYP VT: Kaz full, looked rough on the landing.

6:16 pm. Lodadio ITA PB: Love his single rail work, so nicely and fluidly done. Step back on the double pike. Italy’s doing really really well yo!

6:13 pm. Sarrugerio ITA PB: Nicely done, step on the dismount.

Le VIE HB: Layout Tkachev, straddle Tkachev, giant full, blind change, front giant full, flares the double double layout, small step to the side.

6:10 pm. Cunningham GBR VT: The Biles. 🙂 A little rough in the air with a step forward. Can we get Simone in the MAG vault final tho? She would be amazing. Yurchenko triple for his second vault, great rotation, solid landing. Just some little form stuff in the air.

6:09 pm. Bevan GBR VT: Tsuk double pike, some form stuff in there, but solid, just a lunge back.

6:07 pm. Georgiou CYP SR: Iron cross, swings through to a straddle planche, then swings up to handstand. Very nice control. Two double saltos through to an L sit, double double is super open, chest a little low with a hop.

Hall GBR VT: Kaz 1.5, solid.

Dinh VIE HB: Lovely catch on his straddle Tkachev half. Nice German giants, his knees touch his nose, but then he falls a second later. Finishes with a double double tuck.

6:06 pm. Phan VIE HB: Everything I saw looked good, no big errors, floaty double layout with a step.

6:04 pm. Fraser GBR VT: Kaz 1.5, omg he ran SO close to the table before blocking!!!!!!! I thought was going to actually die. Got no height and didn’t get it even close to the 2.5 twists. Maybe a double. And crashed it.

I. Georgiou CYP SR: Hit routine.

5:58 pm. Pham VIE PB: Nice routine from him! Before his set they were like “he just recovered from tuberculosis!” For another Vietnamese guy earlier they were like “he had blah blah disease!” U OK VIETNAM

5:56 pm. Hall GBR SR: Another solid routine for him! He’ll be happy with that.

Le VIE PB: Ugh, just not his day. Catches one of his skills at his armpits and then hops off. I feel like I haven’t seen very many p-bars falls at all?!

5:53 pm. Bevan GBR SR: Double pike up to a nice straddle planche, L sit to press handstand, holds it for quite a while. Swings through to another handstand, then a double front up to handstand, a tad shaky there but very nice overall. Double double low with a hop.

Dinh VIE PB: Hit everything I saw but then stumbled the dismount to the side.

M. Georgiou CYP PH: Scissor elements to start, single rail swing is done smoothly, transitions to swinging on both pommels. Ugh, hands get too far apart on his traveling elements and he flies off.

5:52 pm. Lodadio ITA VT: Crashed his Dragulescu 😦

5:50 pm. Phan VIE PB: Hit routine.

Sarrugerio ITA VT: Kaz full, a little unsteady on the landing, some leg stuff in the air.

Fraser GBR SR: Solid set, double double dismount with a step.

5:48 pm. Riisberg DEN FX: Hit what I saw, good triple full to finish.

I missed Cunningham on rings and Russo on vault apparently.

Edalli ITA VT: Kaz half with a big hop forward.

5:47 pm. Le Thanh Tunh is challenging the nonsense with his vaults. They rejected it. Poor dude.

5:45 pm. Ohhh snap, they’re saying Le Thanh Tunh’s vaults (a handspring Randi and a kaz 1.5) were the same thing and so they gave him a -2 ND for same family! YIKES. That’s why you should never do a handspring and a tsuk if (a) your pre-flight/block are ambiguous between the handspring/tsuk position, and (b) if you have the same number of post-flight twists. Because you are gonna get hella screwed. HEAR ME CHINESE GIRLS DOING A TSUK DOUBLE AND A RUDI?

5:43 pm. Whitlock GBR PH: Beautiful routine. Very few form breaks. Just picky things like his hip angle. Really fluid and lovely.

5:42 pm. Pham VIE VT: Why was there a 500 hour wait after Le? Was he injured on his second vault? I didn’t see anything if he was. Can’t understand why there was a 9 million year break between the two. Pham does a kaz full and doesn’t get a good block, lands it on his hands.

5:39 pm. Fraser GBR PH: Starts off well, legs get stuck in a handstand straddle, similar to Brinn but not as bad, legs come apart like crazy when he starts his travels, and he bends them a couple of times after that…won’t be a good score but he fought through.

5:35 pm. The wait for Brinn Bevan’s pommels score has been about 525,600 minutes. That part of his routine that I loved where he got stuck in his handstand spinnies for a sec before going down into the flairs, I’m 99% sure that was a huge mistake lmao. But it looked nice.

5:31 pm. Lodadio ITA SR: Love the transition into his Maltese. Saltos into an iron cross, very nice. Planche. Iron cross. A tad arched in a handstand after that. Double double, shuffles his feet together. Great work.

Krasias CYP FX: 1.5 to Rudi. Deep landing on a pass after that. Clean double full. 2.5 with a big step forward to finish.

5:29 pm. Russo ITA SR: Another solid set for them!

Bevan GBR PH: Oooh, handstand pirouettes got really slow and pretty and then his transition down into flairs was GREAT. I loved that. Lovely routine.

M. Georgiou CYP FX: Good double double to start. Front layout to front double full with a little bounce. 2.5 to barani. Hit something after that which I missed, then a front full to Rudi, solid, and a buckled landing on his triple full, hop forward.

5:27 pm. Sarrugerio ITA SR: Hit routine, nothing majorly wrong.

I. Georgiou CYP FX: Front layout to double front, almost overrotated, second pass is simple but clean. Hands down on 1.5 to Rudi. Clean double full. 2.5 with a big lunge forward.

Le VIE VT: Handspring Randi, looked good from here! Second is a Kaz 1.5, a little unsteady on the landing, step OOB I think.

Buus DEN HB: Quite messy on his first release, good Tkachev, stalder, hop full, floaty flared DLO full, stuck! Love.

5:24 pm. Kyriakou CYP FX: Tucked full-in with a bounce, then a front layout to front double full, little shuffle. Front full to tucked Rudi, a little awkward with form issues. Double full side pass. Sat his 2.5.

Hall GBR PH: Scissors up to handstand then down to begin his nonsense. That’s what pommel swings are called right? Excellent, solid work, hit routine.

Dinh VIE VT: Kaz full, good.

Winther DEN HB: Layout Tkachev, straddle Tkachev, had a good routine going but then crashed the dismount and somersaulted out of it.

5:19 pm. Dang VIE SR: Lovely iron cross. Saltos up to an iron cross are done well. Full-twisting double layout is solid.

No Brits in the floor final. Hall got closest, currently 10th.

5:16 pm. Macchini ITA PH: Hit!!

5:14 pm. Cunningham GBR FX: I missed the first pass, hit his double front half out and then the pass after that. A bit short on the tucked full-in. Some ankle stuff on his triple full to finish. I missed a couple of things but everything I saw was solid.

Krasias CYP HB: Had a fall, I didn’t see where.

5:10 pm. M. Georgiou CYP HB: Cassina, nice, layout Kovacs, Kolman, clean Kovacs, GET IT. Great work with his stalder nonsense, then a floaty full-twisting DLO to finish.

Whitlock GBR FX: Randi, nice. Double double, sticks it with his chest pretty forward. I only saw the landing of the next two passes, both twisting combos, both hit. Air flairs are amazing and get cheers. Triple full with a bounce back to finish. Great work.

Edalli ITA PH: Had a fall near the end I think.

5:08 pm. Every single person on the floor right now is in the same color blue.

Bevan GBR FX: Stumbled the first pass OOB, deep but solid double layout after that. Piked double front half-out with a lunge. HUGE height n his piked double front. Front double full to barani is good. Finishes with a superb triple full in the air, landing is also decent.

I. Georgiou CYP HB: Solid hit routine and stuck the dismount.

Sarrugerio ITA PH: Another hit routine!

5:05 pm. Hall GBR FX: Piked double front, deep but controlled. Tucked full-in I think for the second pass, then a front double full to barani. Randi, a little short. Hit the pass after that. Triple full with a step. Good work.

Russo ITA PH: Hit!

Kyriakou CYP HB: Piked Gienger.

Le VIE SR: Hit routine, DLO full dismount was good.

4:58 pm. TWO SUBDIVISIONS LEFT!!!!!

Great Britain on floor, Italy on pommels, Vietnam on rings, and Cyprus on high bar. The Danish gymnasts are also here but not doing AA.

  1. TB?!? He had TB?!?! That’s like not an easy thing to get thru, you are on crazy antibiotics for a super long time. Not to mention the whole, you have TB thing.

Good for him though? Like I am happy he is better and not held back by it?

    • Why are you trying to take the spotlight away from MAG? These gymnasts have worked so hard for so many years to get to this point in their career; it is the world championships. How would you feel if that was you and someone told you that no one cared, no one cared about all the effort you had put in to reach your goal?
It’s not fair to say no one cares, there are so many people who enjoy watching MAG as well as WAG, don’t ruin it for those people

      • Dear I am being ironic. This is probably the only sport on Earth where M is less popular than W and I don’t see any feminists complaining about that — and still they claim it’s about equality.
