3:08 pm. Subdivision two standings coming after I do interviews!
3:07 pm. Asia D’Amato ITA UB: Ricna to Pak, legs apart on the latter, Maloney with leg separation to Tkachev, nice handstand before Church, another nice handstand before her blind change, short, to front giant full to front giant to another front full to double front with a little hop. Good work through that! 13.866!
3:06 pm. Leah Griesser GER FX: Double tuck, big bounce back. Nice 2.5. Double turn in front attitude to full turn. 1.5 to front full, soft knees on the latter but very well-performed routine (even though I miss her murder routine). 12.400
3:05 pm. Maellyse Brassart BEL UB: I missed the first transition, toe full on the high bar is okay, big piked jaeger, Pak, flexed feet, van Leeuwen, double pike with a little hop. 13.300, pretty solid!
3:03 pm. Fien Enghels BEL UB: Inbar to Komova II to Pak, flexed feet but clean otherwise. Inbar full, a little late, Chow to Tkachev, leg form was a little weird after she caught, double front half-out with a step, very nice work! 13.833!
Nica Ivanus ROU FX: Tucked full-in, step back. Hit the next two passes. Double full to finish was fine. 12.000
Emilia Sigurjonsdottir ISL BB: Big bobble on her bhs back tuck. bobble on the transverse jump too. Off on…a side somi I think. Hit the dismount. It felt like she was up there for 20 years. 9.566
3:02 pm. Enni Kettunen FIN BB: I missed most of this but saw that she had a really nice flight series. 11.800
3:01 pm. Zoja Szekely ROU VT: Hit her FTY, not the biggest or cleanest, but hit! 13.300
Lucie Jirikova CZE UB: Stalder to blind full, blind change to Jaeger, bent knees in the air and on the catch, bail, clear hip to toe on to toe shoot, hop on the dismount. 11.966
3:00 pm. Ellie Downie GBR FX: Double double!!!! Step back but DAMN WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?! 1.5 through to arabian double front, little hop forward. Wobbled on the double pike landing, hopped OOB. But yas that first pass, Ellie! 12.700 also seems low but floor scoring overall seems nuts today and I’m also not regularly looking at the D/E breakdown.
Zane Petrova LAT UB: Hit routine! Just low D. Similar to her teammate’s before her. 10.266
2:58 pm. Beatriz Cardoso POR BB: Off on her bhs loso. Off again on something after that. Wobble on a side aerial. Good back tuck. Ooh, nice double pike dismount!
Tjasa Kysselef SLO VT: Second vault is the Yurchenko 1.5, hop forward and some soft knees in the air.
2:55 pm. Anastasija Dubova LAT UB: Caught a release into a Pak, clear hip hecht up to the high bar, blind full, layout dismount, steps into her salute.
Tjasa Kysselef SLO VT: Stuck her handspring front tuck full!!! The best I’ve ever seen her do it. 13.666
2:52 pm. Amelie Morgan GBR FX: Tucked full-in, little hop. 1.5 through to front full to front tuck. 2.5 with a lunge forward. 12.666
Elvira Katsali GRE BB: Front aerial, clean bhs loso, really nice tour jeté in the air but has a bobble on the landing. Layout full dismount. 10.600
Marta Pihan-Kulesza POL VT: I missed it but looked like she just hopped on the landing. 13.233
2:50 pm. Csenge Bacskay HUN VT: She’s gonna go for the DTY. And it’s not bad!! She’s had some weaker attempts this year but that was pretty solid. Just some leg form and a little hop. 14.100. Follows it up with a tsuk full, hop back. 13.816 average, currently fourth.
Giorgia Villa ITA UB: Chow to Tkachev, very nice. Ricna, fall. UGH. Back on for a Maloney to Bhardwaj, crooked but clean. Holds a handstand for an hour before the toe shoot back up to the high bar, blind change to front giant full to front half, shuffles back to center, and then hits the dismount with a hop. 12.700
Vigdis Palmadottir ISL BB: Wobbly on her bhs loso. Omg, basically did the limbo to hold onto her side somi, unfortunately fell but that was an awesome fight. 9.600
Anastasiya Alistratava BLR BB: Double pike, good! The rest is pretty solid. Clean stuck double full to finish. 12.100
2:47 pm. Ellie Downie only needs a 12.234 on floor to match Anastasiia Bachynska! I think all three of the subdivision two leaders should surpass her without much of a problem.
2:43 pm. Leah Griesser GER BB: Off on her bhs loso. 😦 Tiny step on switch to switch half. Good side aerial. Love the tick tock into her dismount series.
After three rotations for subdivision two, it’s Ellie, Amelie, and Giorgia in the top three. They’re all separated by about six tenths, and then Asia is about two points behind this group.
2:40 pm. Nica Ivanus ROU BB: Bhs layout, piked but hit well. Clean side aerial. Wobble on the side somi. Lunge down into a wolf turn fakeout is fun, wish she held it more into a split though. That’d be pretty. Didn’t see the beginning of her dismount, think she did a gainer 1.5 maybe? Good landing either way. 12.733
2:37 pm. Lucie Jirikova CZE VT: Handspring front pike, didn’t really see the landing but it seemed fine. 12.766
Tjasa Kysselef SLO FX: Nice double tuck to start. 1.5 to front tuck after, little hop forward. Good front full. 12.000
Enni Kettunen FIN UB: Big straddle Jaeger. Stalder full is a little messy, to toe on to toe shoot. Stalder half to double front, really tight in her tuck but just too low on the release, falls forward. 11.766, wow, she would’ve had an 8.166 E if she didn’t fall on the dismount which is kind of incredible?! Good for her.
Maellyse Brassart BEL VT: FTY, big and nice in the air, but a bit wild on the landing, big hop back. 13.400
2:35 pm. Beatriz Cardoso POR UB: Nice height on her piked Jaeger! Bail is a little short. Goes a bit wild on a pirouette on the low bar but corrects, toe on to toe shoot, clean double pike. 10.133
Amelie Morgan GBR BB: Back handspring moutn to split jump, very nice. Bhs bhs loso, check. Switch to switch half, short in the split on the latter, into a back pike, good overall series. Clean side aerial. Wobble on full turn. Double full with a hop. 13.033
Zane Petrova LAT VT: Tsuk back pike, looked similar to her teammate’s in terms of form not being quite there. 11.500
2:33 pm. Anastasija Dubova LAT VT: Tsuk back pike, some form issues. 11.933
Ellie Downie GBR BB: Great amplitude on switch leap mount. Switch to switch half to back tuck, little stumble but good fight. Punch front is super solid. Double spin, bobbles but holds it. Bhs loso with a stumble, almost falls but grabs her legs and stays on! She is the QUEEN of the saves today, honestly. Good 2.5 with a hop. 12.966
Izabella Trejo SWE FX: Hit her first pass. 1.5 to front layout after that is clean. Solid double tuck at the end. 12.233
2:32 pm. Elvira Katsali GRE UB: Good Maloney to Pak, toe half to toe shoot, muscles through a toe full but only gets it halfway around and has to hop off. Gets it the second time. Clean double tuck with a little hop. 10.300
2:29 pm.Vigdis Palmadottir ISL UB: Very nice Maloney! And a huge piked Jaeger. Hit the rest including the dismount. Really great potential from her on this event! 11.500
Anastasiya Alistratava BLR BB: Off on her loso mount. Also off on her flight series. 😦 Then hands down on a switch half. Step forward on her double tuck dismount. 8.700
Marta Pihan-Kulesza POL FX: I really hope she can get into this final. Beautiful 2.5 to front tuck. Arabian double front, a little wild, but she does it into a stag and that helps with the wildness of it a bit. Front double full is excellent. Yeah, she’s making the final. PRAISE THE LAWD AMEN. 12.933 actually seems low but I guess compared to some other scores today it’s fine.
2:28 pm. Asia D’Amato ITA VT: DTY, some ankle/leg form stuff but better chest position and height than her teammate before her. 14.300.
Second vault for Asia is the Lopez, clean and flared with a hop. Great job. Average is a 14.166 for second place currently.
2:25 pm. Giorgia Villa ITA VT: DTY, a bit low, hop forward. 14.233
Emilia Sigurjonsdottir ISL UB: Had to muscle up out of a handstand but couldn’t quite get it all the way up, jumped off. 7.966
Pauline Schäfer GER BB: Split leap, beautiful. Clean bhs loso. Little wobble on a leap after that. Hit her eponymous skill, then a transverse split jump half which was a bit short. Clean side somi. Clean side aerial. Stuck the dismount. Beautiful. 13.666
Zoja Szekely HUN FX: Good double pike. Sat her second pass. 10.966
2:23 pm. Just looking at this subdivision, it’s Ellie, Amelie, and Giorgia for the top three! Giorgia looking to make up some of that deficit on vault and bars now.
2:19 pm. Maellyse Brassart BEL FX: Bird queen ready to PARTY. Switch full. Piked full-in, small step back. Front tuck through to double tuck, little bounce. Switch ring to switch half. Double pike, clean, tiny bounce back. Very nice work! 12.233
2:14 pm. Lucie Jirikova CZE FX: Ooh, clean double front! Punches right into it, a little low but that was great overall. Clean double pike with a hop back. Front through to 1.5, little stumble. Toes are better on her jumps here than they were on beam! 11.300
2:12 pm. Nica Ivanus ROU UB: Straddle Jaeger, messy Pak caught super close and jerky, doesn’t come off but has to re-kip out of it. Toe-on to toe shoot, low double tuck with a step back. 11.400
Zane Petrova LAT FX: Like her teammate she also does a handstand pirouette. Leaps are a little crazy. Had a front full in there that went well. Overall just low D for the Latvians in this subdivision. 10.533
2:10 pm. Marta Pihan-Kuleza POL BB: Came off on something into a back tuck, had the first part of the skill but then fell on the tuck. Wobble on a tuck jump half, good save. Step back on the dismount. 11.200
2:09 pm. Amelie Morgan GBR UB: Piked Jaeger, a little low but good, big Ricna to Pak, a bit messy in the Pak, Maloney to Bhardwaj, leg form is iffy, better on the van Leeuwen, blind full to double tuck with a hop. Good job. 13.900
2:08 pm. Anastasija Dubova LAT FX: Opened with a front layout. Had a really cool moment where she did a handstand double turn into a split in handstand which was nice. Front layout full with about 300 steps back out of it but doesn’t sit. 10.200
2:06 pm. Zoja Szekely HUN BB: I missed most of this unfortunately! 10.166
Ellie Downie GBR UB: Hop change to toe front half, missed toes for toe full so does it again, gets tie toe full but then misses toes for the Maloney, but gets it the second time, into a release, then into another releases into her Pak, I didn’t see the entry into either release, SHE’S GOING SO FAST. The second release was probably the Downie, the first was a straddle Tkachev. 90% sure on these. Van Leeuwen, good, double layout low but stuck. Great job fixing problems in that routine. Both times she missed her toes could’ve been MUCH worse for her but she was a fighter and covered up brilliantly. 13.833
Beatriz Cardoso POR VT: Hit but didn’t see what she did. 12.900
2:02 pm. Vigdis Palmadottir ISL VT: I missed what she did but pretty sure she hit. 12.500
Csenge Bacskay HUN BB: Bhs loso, some soft knees but solid. Switch leap to wolf jump. Good side aerial. Hit her dismount. 11.666
Elvira Katsali GRE VT: Yurchenko back pike with a big step. 12.100
Giorgia Villa ITA FX: Another Figaro routine in the same rotation is brilliant. Opening pass was a little low, I honestly didn’t see the beginning of it, probably a double layout? Tucked full-in also a little low but better. Random front layout for her third pass, cool. Nice attack in her leaps. Double tuck with a bounce back, flag up. 12.666
Anastasiya Alistratava BLR UB: Saw her hit her Pak and van Leeuwen, BEAUTIFUL inbars from this kid. Good piked Jaeger. Legs are glued throughout. Double front half-out almost stuck. Brilliant job. 14.166!!!!
1:59 pm. Emilia Sigurjonsdottir ISL VT: Suuuuuper high Yurchenko layout, big step back. 12.000
Izabella Trejo SWE BB: Bhs loso, solid. Switch to switch half, short on the split on the latter. Big wobble on a front acro skill after that. Huge switch half. Gainer pike dismount. 11.200
Asia D’Amato ITA FX: Double layout, good, maybe a little shorter than it should be but solid on the landing nonetheless. Arabian double front is much better with her position, and clean too. Good landing. Clean double tuck. Double full to finish is a bit messy but good enough. 12.900
Pauline Schäfer GER UB: Maloney to Pak, clean. Big apmplitude on her toe shoot. HUGE Gienger. Nice Jaeger. Toe front half dismount. Good work! She may not be a bar worker but she does skills there the way she does them on beam, big and confident. 13.200
1:56 pm. Enni Kettunen FIN VT: Ooh, FTY! Step to the side. That’s an upgrade for her I think. 13.100
Leah Griesser GER UB: Toe full to Maloney to bail to stalder full to Ray, good work. Stalder to toe half to piked Jaeger, gets height but no distance, hits her legs on the bar but somehow holds on which is INSANE. Jumps off after because yeah, mentally, you have to? But damn that was crazy. Looks a little rattled. Hit the double front when she got back on, which was also high and close but not as scary as the Jaeger was. 11.200
Tjasa Kysselef SLO BB: Hit her back tuck. That’s all I saw! 11.533
Fien Enghels BEL FX: Her crazy Figaro routine, love it. Good double tuck. Switch ring. I saw all of this and she did great work throughout, just didn’t type a few of her passes. 12.866
1:49 pm. Lucie Jirikova CZE BB: Switch leap mount. Punch front, little bobble. Bhs loso, wild landing, grabs the beam. Short in the split in her jumps, tries pointing her feet but while her toes are there, her feet are still flexed. Front aerial is good. Switch half. Front layout with a step back. 11.000
1:46 pm. Zane Petrova LAT BB: Oh my god she did a stomach spin I’m dying. Switch half, short in the split. Switch leap to split jump, better. Off on her side aerial. Just a layout dismount, clean. 10.466
Ellie Downie with a 14.366 vault average puts her in first about two tenths ahead of Maria Paseka.
1:43 pm. Anastasija Dubova LAT BB: Wolf turn was good. Nice front aerial to back handspring. Front layout dismount. Hit routine! 11.600
Beatriz Cardoso POR FX: Double layout, flies forward on the landing and rolls out of it. Tucked full in is much better, little step forward. Front layout. Hit the last pass. 10.966
Ellie Downie GBR VT: Really solid Lopez for her second vault. 14.266
1:42 pm. Elvira Katsali GRE FX: I missed most of this but what I saw, she hit. Her front layout full was a little tucked though. 12.000
Ellie Downie GBR VT: Huge DTY, just the slightest ankle separation, and the tiniest baby hop. Great. 14.466
1:38 pm. Amelie Morgan GBR VT: Long wait for her. Idk why, Alistratava before her just did a Yurchenko layout. Probably figuring out how to downgrade it? Finally goes for a DTY, it’s not the best, some form issues in the air and she’s a bit low and iffy on the landing with a hop but kudos to her for getting it done. 14.100
Zoja Szekely HUN UB: Went for a Nabieva but fell. 😦 😦 A little form-y in the air too. Toe full to huge Tkachev, then she pauses on the high bar after and jumps off. Back on for Maloney to Gienger, nice handstand after, little hop on the full-in. Well, that was full of nerves but at least she has her first big senior routine out of the way. It’s all uphill from here. 10.600
Giorgia Villa ITA BB: Hit her loso mount. Low but hit on her roundoff tuck full! Double spin was lovely but she was too tentative on it. Split leap to side aerial, a little short. Double pike, low and buckled, hop back. 13.766, uhhhhh?!?! GET IT.
1:34 pm. Jonna Adlerteg SWE UB: Huge Shang to Pak, some leg separation. Good shaposh to Bhardwaj, crooked, Maloney to clear hip full to big Tkachev, nice! Double layout, little hop. Great job. She’s thrilled. 14.666!!! Huge lead for her right now. Half a point.
Asia D’Amato ITA BB: Big break at the hips on her loso mount, bends all the way over but saves it! Bhs loso, and she’s off. Front aerial to split jump to back handspring, awkward hip angle but stays on. Hit her leap series after that and I didn’t see her fall on anything else. Double pike dismount with a hop. 11.433
Vigdis Palmadottir ISL FX: Double pike with a step. Hit her second pass and then a front full, I think she wanted to go for a layout but it was pretty tucked. 11.200
1:32 pm. Leah Griesser GER VT: Lovely handspring front pike. Big step forward. 13.033
Tjasa Kysselef SLO UB: Clear hip to toe-on, drags her feet on the floor and comes off. Toe shoot, then a toe front half dismount, no salto. 8.366
Fien Enghels BEL BB: Double wolf turn, a bit wild. Split leap to switch leap to back tuck, step back. Good bhs loso. Hit the dismount. Good work! 12.900
Emilia Sigurjonsdottir ISL FX: Hit her first pass. And the second. 1.5 was good. Hit routine! 11.133
Anastasiya Alistratava BLR VT: Yurchenko layout, chest forward and a little step. 10.666
1:30 pm. Nica Ivanus ROU VT: FTY with a step. 13.400
Marta Pihan-Kulesza POL UB: Shaposh to Pak, leg sep but good, Maloney, ugh, grasps with her fingertips before a hard fall. Gets the Maloney the second time, right to a bail to Ray. Blind change to Jaeger, good, crazy rushed through her front giant full, so she can’t get the double front up high enough and she stumbles it back and sits it. 😦 10.866
Maellyse Brassart BEL BB: Front aerial, small check on bhs loso. Side aerial, a little break at the hips. Came off on something after that. Hit the double pike dismount. 11.366
Enni Kettunen FIN FX: Solid double pike, little hop. Switch to tour jeté half. Very clean double tuck. Front full. Lovely work! 11.700
1:28 pm. Welcome back for the second subdivision!
Here, we’ll see Amelie Morgan and Ellie Downie as two of the biggest contenders not only in this session, but for the meet as a whole. For the Italians, we’ll get queen Giorgia Villa and Asia D’Amato, with D’Amato hoping to make the vault podium while Villa has potential for several finals, including bars.
Speaking of bars, keep your eyes on the Hungarian gymnast Zoja Szekely who has a ton of releases in her set. She’ll be starting on the event along with Sweden’s Jonna Adlerteg, so this will be an especially good rotation on this event.
I’m also super excited for Belgium’s Fien Enghels and Maellyse Brassart, with Enghels hoping for the beam final while Brassart could get a spot on floor, the Slovenian gymnasts Teja Belak and Tjasa Kysselef will be ones to watch for the vault final, and of course, hometown hero Marta Pihan-Kulesza is in this session, with floor her most likely shot at a final.
