    • To be fair, her floor and beam are actually competitive on the world stage. Her beam has gone mid 13s internationally which can medal at worlds depending on what kind of day it is. Really her only issue is a bars routine construction that can up her D score without sacrificing execution and a more difficult and cleaner 2nd vault. Her overall execution isn’t even that bad either, her beam form is super clean and she’s gotten a lot better at hitting her splits on floor. The current problem with Denisa isn’t about what she is or isn’t doing, it’s just consistency which will come with time as long as she stays healthy.

      • I don’t understand why her coach can’t just come up with a better routine.
        Maloney + Free hip 1/1 + Tkatchev + Pak
        Van Leeuwen
        Giant 1 1/2 + Jaeger
        Double front 1/2.
That’s a 5.9 (+0.8 on what she has) and it’s with skills that she already has, and with the 1.5, Forminte used to teach them all day long, and if she hit this set it could go low-mid 13s. Sometimes I think he is a genius (His transformation of Tamarjan from 2007-2008 is incredible and actually scary good) but sometimes he’s so boneheaded like his comments about the gymnasts at Euros when he was standing right beside them.

  1. Huh? Why are there only 6 people in the finals? I swear European Gymnastics are keep making their own new rules XD, I remember they used to have separate women and men’s apparatus final where they have women’s 4 apparatus final in one day and men’s 6 apparatus final in another day 😂

    • to talk about “used to” together with “european games” makes no sense. This was the second edition of these games. So they really make their own new rules. European championships are something different but it is normally appartus finals wag-mag splittet 2+3 one day and 2+3 second day.

      • I was talking about European Gymnastics in general not just European Games (like European Games and European Gymnastics Championships) because they are held by 1 governing body which is the UEG.

  2. Lauren, 1st and most importantly, thank you for the live blogs this weekend! Appreciate it.
After looking through the scores here, im curious about Aline Friess. Im guessing none of her events were televised, but im wondering if you have ever seen her vaults? Looks like she scored 14.8 both days. Impressive. I tried to find a clip of her vaulting on yt; unfortunately the one i did find is at the end of vault and a gazillion miles away. I dont like watching vault unless im viewing it from the side(like all of us.) why bother recording vault any other way is beyond me. Anyway, do u have any info on her? For instance, w/a massive 1st vault score, are they going to add a 2nd vault for her eventually? Or are they just relying solely on Devillard for vault finals? Maybe she is just an AAer? Any insight u r able to share would be greatly appreciated. I love the French team this quad! Just dont know their up and comers like i do with ours here in the US.
Thanks so much again! Enjoy your week!

    • Hi, you can see Aline’s vault at French Championships here (she fell though and the video cuts rapidly but it’s the best video of her rudi I found) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InhJn-xGXJc
From what I’ve seen she’s only working on this vault, but it would be a great idea for her to add a second vault once she completely masters the rudi. I think Aline definitely has potential as an AAer, i really like the height she has on bars and on her floor passes. She is part of the team sent to Houston this last week to prepare for Worlds, you can see her in the videos the French Federation of Gymnastics are releasing about their camp = https://www.youtube.com/user/ffgymnastique/videos
      Hope that helped,
      Lise.
