6:26 pm. I think we’re just waiting for Isabela Onyshko’s floor score and that should wrap things up! Thankfully only missed a few routines with the streams going out.

6:16 pm. Still no stream unfortunately. Looks like Ana is going to get the win with a combined score, but Brooklyn had a score five tenths higher than Ana today! LOVE THEM BOTH.

6:14 pm. All of the streams are down now. 🙂

6:10 pm. Brooklyn Moors FX: Split jump full, beautiful. Pokopayeva, chest slightly down, but excellent landing. Front double full to front full. Double front goes a little low and she takes a step forward but this is like the second time she’s done a four-pass routine so let’s give it to her K? Switch ring to split ring leap half. 2.5 to punch front. GORGEOUS QUEEN, WE STAN, WE STAN.

6:09 pm. Caitlyn Yim BB: Off on her front aerial. Split jump to back handspring is nice. Double full dismount.

Mia St-Pierre VT: Huge tsuk full with a step back.

6:07 pm. Ana Padurariu FX: Split jump full. 2.5 to front tuck, perfect! Her leaps are PERF today. Double pike, step back. Fantastic routine! Big switch half. Clean double full to finish. YAS!

6:03 pm. Quinn Skrupa FX: I missed the beginning of this. Actually missed all of it I guess, aside from the double back at the end, just a little low there.

Laurie-Ann Demers BB: Bhs loso, doesn’t quite have the landing. Fall. Side aerial. Front aerial. Jump series is solid. Fell on something after that but I couldn’t see what. hit her jumps. Rolled out of her dismount and flew completely off the mat, oof. Poor gal.

Chelsea Murray UB: Toe full, a little late and drags her knees.

6:02 pm. Ellie Black UB: Maloney to Hindorff, good. Shang, hop change to piked Jaeger to Pak, van Leeuwen, she’s getting it!! Just a layout dismount. Solid!

5:59 pm. Victoria-Kayen Woo FX: Tucked full-in, good! Oh, I feel like I missed all of this…my feed froze for a minute so I assume that’s why.

Lilian Bate BB: Punch front mount. Switch ring jump. Off on her front acro series. Front aerial to split jump. Double tuck, ugh, to her knee.

Laurie Denommée UB: Bail, front toe half to van Leeuwen, awesome. Gienger for the release I think. Hit the dismount. Good!

5:58 pm. Jordyn Ewing VT: Handspring front pike with a hop.

5:55 pm. Emma Spence FX: 2.5 to start. 1.5 through to double tuck, good, hop back. Double pike with a hop back.

Amanda Pedicelli UB: Oooooof, did her double front to her back. Actually was that even her dismount? Maybe because she didn’t complete it she’s gonna do it again, because she’s chalking up…yeah, she just got back on to do the dismount again, got it this time but a little low.

Charlise Radencich BB: Side aerial is clean. Hit what I saw!

5:52 pm. Sophie Marois FX: Piked full-in, good. 2.5 with a step. Hit routine!

Valérie Menezes-Thibault BB: Hit her back pike series. Hit the dismount.

Shallon Olsen VT: Really solid DTY! Just a step forward.

Split leap to front aerial, little adjustment. Clean side aerial. Full turn in attitude. Switch half. Rudi dismount. YAY. NEED SOMEONE TO GIF BROOKLYN AND ANA SHIMMYING AT EACH OTHER AT THE END OF THIS. 13.666

5:42 pm. Ana Padurariu BB: Candle mount, triple wolf turn, excellent! Switch ring, side aerial loso loso, got it!!! Front aerial, little pause, switch leap to sheep jump. Good…I’m glad she paused between them, better than the alternative of going for it and falling. Double pike. EXCELLENT!!!! 13.900

5:38 pm. Quinn Skrupa BB: Switch leap mount. Switch to sissone, nice extension! Bhs layout, solid. Side aerial. Front aerial to jumps. Onodi. Double tuck is great! Wow, beam is SO SO SO GOOD RIGHT NOW.

Laurie-Ann Demers UB: Bail, toe shoot, blind full, blind change to front giant half, tucked toe front half. Good!

5:24 pm. Sophie Marois BB: Candle mount, great! Does little leg kick out of it. Bhs loso is solid. Ugh, punch front tuck, overrotates a bit and she kinda goes forward and grabs the beam. Switch leap. Big wobble on the switch half. They weren’t connected. Front aerial. Side aerial. Transverse split jump half, chest down a bit. Stuck her gainer layout.

Jordyn Ewing FX: Split jump full. High double tuck with a step back. Hit the second pass. Clean double full to finish.

Charlise Radencich UB: Hit what I saw! Big double pike with a step back at the end.

5:22 pm. Isabela Onyshko BB: Triple series to a two-foot layout, AWESOME! Switch ring. Front aerial to split jump to split jump full. I am here for this Bela resurgence. Split ring jump. Full Y turn, little check. Something into a side aerial. Just a layout full dismount but that’s basically the best she has looked, again, in years.

Kyra Cato FX: Double pike, step back. Front double full, steps over. Omg her cool spin to her back at the end is SO cool.

Amanda Pedicelli VT: FTY with a step back.

Valérie Menezes-Thibault UB: Just saw her sit the dismount I believe.

5:21 pm. Chelsea Murray VT: FTY. Stumbles off the mat and can like, barely walk so I hope she’s okay. 12.200

5:16 pm. Audrey Rousseau UB: Candle mount, solid bhs loso. Front aerial. Side aerial. Super high double tuck.

Mia St-Pierre FX: Arabian double front, ugh, sat it. Good double pike. Switch ring to tour jeté half. Ooh, she has I think a layout full side pass! That was cool. Into a jump. Stuck the crap out of her last pass.

Imogen Paterson UB: Got her piked Jaeger! Sat the toe front dismount sadly.

Saki Yoshida VT: Hit with a step back. 13.100

5:10 pm. Quinn Skrupa UB: Endo half to toe-on to Ricna, YAS! Pak, clean, maybe a little low, van Leeuwen is good, stalder full, a little late, arabian dismount, UGH, so close! Just a little too far back on her heels and she sits it.

5:07 pm. Victoria-Kayen Woo UB: Shaposh to clear hip full, a little late but clean. Toe-on to Pak, a little weak but got it! Van Leeuwen, blind change to piked Jaeger, she’s going SO FAST omg. Double layout with a step. This bars rotation though!!!!

5:05 pm. Jessica Dowling BB: Candle mount, double wolf turn. Hit her flight series well. Hit her jump series too. Got the dismount! Yay!

Emma Spence UB: Toe full, a little arched, Maloney to Pak, gets the van Leeuwen, clear hip to blind change to piked Jaeger, I think it was a double pike dismount, step back.

“Honestly the candle mount is not as cool now that I’ve seen like 40 people do it.” – My friend Hannah

5:03 pm. Sophie Marois UB: Hit her Bhardwaj, everyone’s screaming for her like crazy! I wasn’t typing during this but it was a really great hit set, nailed the dismount too. Bars is going almost TOO WELL right now!

5:00 pm. Myrelle Morin FX: I didn’t see most of this but she walked off holding her knee. I think she fell on her last pass.

Laurie-Ann Demers VT: Solid FTY!

4:58 pm. Isabela Onyshko UB: Maloney to Tkachev, good, Hindorff, nice! Clear hip full to Pak, killing it! Van Leeuwen is great! Toe half, front giant, double front with a hop. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! ISABELA!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s the cleanest I’ve seen her in literal years.

4:55 pm. Amanda Pedicelli FX: Double pike is good. Hit her second pass. Front full to finish. Great routine!

4:53 pm. Mia St-Pierre BB: Punch front, leg up, but good overall. Fell on something after that. Switch to wolf jump. Fell again on something after, I keep missing the skills she falls on. Great double tuck dismount.

Caitlyn Yip VT: FTY, a little low.

Ana Padurariu UB: Stalder half to piked Jaeger, inbar piked Galante, bail to stalder to Ray, so far so good! Blind full, hit the full-in dismount! YAY! She looks so much better there already. Still downgraded a bit. 13.166

4:46 pm. Kiera Wai BB: Great leap series out of her mount. Full turn. Layout series, lands it a bit sideways, really tries to fight for it but can’t hold on. Hit the dismount.

4:32 pm. Amanda Pedicelli BB: Came off on her flight series, but had lots of other good moments, especially the gainer pike dismount.

4:31 pm. Kyra Cato UB: Had a HUGE release into her Pak, Pak was a little weak but YAS to the Tkachev. Came off on the high bar during a handstand issue. Hit the dismount. 11.233

Saki Yoshida BB: Candle mount. My friend here said “OOOOOOH WHAT WAS THAT, THAT WAS AMAZING, I LOVED THAT.” Had a fall in the middle of the routine but otherwise hit.

4:30 pm. Emma Spence VT: Yurchenko 1.5, hits it! She sat a warmup vault so that was great. Tsuk full (tucked) for her second vault, which I feel like is new? New-ish? It was good! 13.750

4:29 pm. Imogen Paterson FX: Ugh, sits her arabian double front to start, but the second pass was good. Double tuck is a little low.

4:27 pm. Shallon Olsen UB: Blind change to piked Jaeger, good. Bail to toe full, toe shoot, full-in. Good set! 12.566

Caitlyn Yip FX: I didn’t see a lot of this but looked like a hit routine.

4:20 pm. Laurie Denommée BB: Roundoff layout, a little piked with a wobble but she gets it. Switch to switch half, hip angle is off and she falls. Front aerial, back handspring, transverse jump is good. Side somi, too far forward, fall. Hit the dismount.

4:19 pm. Kiera Wai UB: Great handstand beore the toe full, Chow to Pak. Toe shoot. Blind change to straddle Jaeger. Stalder half right into her toe front tuck, ugh, comes off a little low and her hands are down. 11.233

Laurie-Ann Demers FX: Wasn’t typing during the beginning but she had a solid routine, finished with a good double full.

4:15 pm. Jessica Dowling UB: Toe half to Jaeger, Ricna, toe full, Pak, Maloney, nothing out of it and then she loses her rhythm a little and has to hop off. Gets the full-in dismount. 11.366

Ana Padurariu VT: FTY, a little low and forward but she’s happy with it! My friend who is here said “that was not high at all, she’s definitely not going to win.” 13.350

Jordyn Ewing UB: Missed this due to ads. 12.266

4:13 pm. Eloise Monat BB: Side aerial with a step back. Break at the hips on her bhs loso but she stays on. Just a layout dismount.

Lilian Bate FX: Arabian double front to her hands. Ugh. Hit the next pass, I believe a 2.5 to front full. Triple full to finish is great.

4:05 pm. Athletes are out, let the touch warmups begin!

4:03 pm. On Friday, the senior qualifications finished MUCH closer than I expected, though Ana Padurariu’s beam gave her that last-minute push she needed to get nearly a point ahead of the rest of the pack. But Brooklyn Moors looks strong, and with a clean competition, is still a contender, while Isabela Onyshko, Emma Spence, and Victoria-Kayen Woo should also be podium contenders.

Shallon Olsen is on the start lists now after competing at college on Friday, and Rose-Kaying Woo is also listed to compete after missing out during qualifications. Neither will be eligible for medals but still important for them to get out there and show what they can do. Something tells me NCAA has made Shallon basically the only person in elite ready for #FebruaryGymnastics, so this could be a great thing for her!

Ellie Black will likely just compete bars and beam again after showing some slightly downgraded routines on Friday due to her ankle injury. She looked great regardless, and is likely to be a top finisher on both.

  1. That fourth team spot will be interesting! And hopefully we have an individual – but I don’t want them to burn out the core 3 to earn it. I’m concerned Ana is down for two AA cups.

    • Yeah, I don’t mind them BEFORE the meet, like, fine, whatever, but whoever is engineering their system forgot to turn them off completely for vault and bars, so like…if you can’t figure it out, then just don’t have them on AT ALL during the meet??? Even putting them on between rotations is annoying because you miss the touch warm-up and it’s not like they’re gonna tell you if something happened that you may have missed.
