The Gymternet 
The Americans both hitting 4 for 4 routines so early in the season was really nice. I can hardly wait to see more from them at US Classic.
And Jennifer Gadirova is an upcoming star. She left me speechless.

Right? Her vault is so clean, she has such nice toe point in her leaps on beam with good extension and her floor has so much personality and contained power. I think she can really be an all-around threat in the future, her bars has low difficulty but her swing and technique is actually quite nice, there’s definitely potential there to get a good routine on bars.

God how I wish Jennifer Gadirova hadn’t fallen on bars. I’ve watched her since she was an espoir. So pleased to see her deliver such a good performance.

Same!! I remember seeing her in late 2016 and thinking she and Jessica both had beautiful floor routines, but I don’t think either had a double salto at that point, so it’s crazy now that just over three years later Jennifer has one of the best double doubles in the world.

Disappointed for Zhang Jin. 😔
She needed to do well here to make an early case for herself. Hitting a solid routine and getting first on beam in this field is a big accomplishment and lovely redemption from the falls. But having a 14+ beam routine alone isn’t going to get her onto the team when basically all the other top Chinese AA gymnasts can score the same or higher.
